And they're so obvious. I had no idea who this chick was up until 2 weeks ago. Everybody has skeletons in their closet. I need to know if I can accept hers and get behind her or back someone else. These dudes act like you're wrong for doing your homework on candidates.

She took several campaign contributions from Trump to keep quiet about the case in California against him. Now it could be that her office still did a full investigation on Trump University but it should be asked what did her office do about the case from 2010 until 2016.

For example, she changed the 3 strike laws to only applying to violent crimes.
However i do agree that she didnt try to change the entire system for us.

Most of the heat Harris is getting right now is really pushed by or from operatives of other democratic candidates
yes- this is battle testing, its about her organization, communications and allies as much as it is about her
They need to push her forward and establishing her as a viable candidate
Her real opponents haven't declared yet because either they have a large warchest/ more money and or better name recognition or have planned upcoming events to build their launch around
but that doesn't mean they haven't started fighting already- all the excitement now on TV and hand wringing messaging about misogyny bias using trigger words etc -isn't about us
its about fund raising
the strategy is to give her the spotlight and a lot of oxygen for now - most stars burn hot and burn out fast, ( happens every election cycle).
The candidate and her team (to demonstrate competence and longevity) need to weather the attacks,maintain disciplined communication -appear cool level headed presidential and electable and continue to get that money before her opponents take it all
The number of "us" saying she needs to earn our vote - is very small
The number of people that say voting is pointless is almost as small
I read some of her resume... born in Oakland, Mother is from India, Father is Jamaican, and her Husband is Jewish. Got her bachelors from Howard and her Law degree from UC Hastings College of Law. DA of San Francisco from 2004-2011 and AG of California from 2011-2017. Was elected Senator in 2017. Listened to her 1st speech after announcing her candidacy and her Town Hall last night. There is a reason why she is the democratic front runner...intelligent, articulate, and she got money backing her. Plus she's a lawyer which gives her a ridiculous advantage over the Republican incumbent. I don't expect her to be a champion for the black cause because our political system won't stand for that...neither will the majority. What I do expect is that she will at least try to level the playing field. Firm and fair is what I'm looking for and based on what I've seen of her record as a prosecutor, she appears to have both qualities. It's early, but I think it will come down to her and Joe Biden. Everybody else is battling for third place.
Thanks for up, i had already seen that video, but while it has good info, its also a propaganda piece that gives only side of the story. For example, he tells us that Kamala tried everything she could to send us to the chair, but in reality when you look closer as a prosecutor she never ever went for it, and has always openly opposed it. She openly says that the death penalty has been applied unfairly to blacks, latinos and poor peeps.
Anyway, again thanks again for the drop. Im trying to stay away from propaganda vids and just looking for complete info.

thats fantasy - where did you get that from? - last night in this thread I posted complete reporting from multiple sources on her court filings arguing against death row appeals, covering dirty prosecutors, suppression of exculpatory evidence etc

She never went for the death penalty. Even when it was politically expedient for her to do so. She was vocal about that from jump.

I'm in the process of doing research and what I found out so far is not as bad as some are claiming it to be.
Two candidates that come off publicly on opposite ends. Warren has ideas but her voice will get drowned out in the crowd. Publicly she comes off as being too soft and would get walked over in a debate vs the Republican incumbent. Booker, on the other hand, comes off like an angry black man. And everybody hates an angry black man (joke). But seriously he comes off as being too hard and his passion is often mistaken as anger. Still, I think he would scare too many voters to get elected.
how does her choices as DA excuse fighting against death row appeals for the entire state as AG?
