Michael Jordan is just as much of a "friend" of Donald Trump as Jim Brown. Trump has said as much. MJ's just smart enough not to reveal that publicly so his fans like yourself can play dumb and pretend not to see it.

For Michael to be seen as great the standard always has to be lowered because he lacks depth and relied on slick marketing and fluff for most of his career.
Most brothers on BGOL are between ages 30-50, his core demographic.
