I stay getting my ass whooped. How do you fight in this game?

On the PS4 use [square] button to block & [circle] button to punch (Or use X and B on the Xbox). After you block a punch, sometimes you can throw ‘combos’ by hitting circle, then square.
I think you can also ‘tackle’ folks during a fistfight by holding L2, then hit R2 (or circle?
). I did it a few times, but it happened so fast I forgot what button combos I pressed. (Or maybe I could only tackle when I was chasing someone on foot & using the rope to lasso them, not sure. )The key is to Fight defensively. (Like how most Cowboys fight in Western movies
) Wait for the attack >> then block >> then punch. You can chain together 2 or 3 quick, solid combos... but don’t get greedy. If you start rapidly ‘swinging for the fences’, the CPU will recover quickly, block & Smack FIRE outta you. Some foes go down very quickly.
Others take quite a few hits to knockout.

Two npc's walked rode up to me and said you have a nice horse then pulled a gun on me. I lit them up with dual pistols. Damn clip didn't record though. Then a witness came by. I hogtied him. He wanted to throw hands after I defused it. Laid him out with one hit.

Kinda game breaking don't you think? I had like a billion doing the stock exploit in GTA and regretted doing it but the game was over by that time.
You still have to complete task in order to unlock weapons and clothing... now I don’t have to worry about doing nickel and missions in order to feed the gang.
Damn. I must of done something wrong. The glitch didn't work for me.
Or they patched it.
ya seems like overkill just for single player...these types of glitches will be invaluable when multiplayer drops tho

i can already tell this game is going to be simply epic
one complaint are the controls are confusing as hell.. surely they could have come up with better controls seems as this...
it's like you use one button for an action and then it's a different button the next time for doing a similar action.
these control schemes seem to be geared to ps4 players not the xbox controller

I went to the one in Valentine. I'm still very early on in the game. I spend a lot of time doing side shit and running from the law.
Like after that big ass shootout at the O'Driscoll place, I guess I was taking too long looting the cabin... Next thing i know it lights up INVESTIGATING and 5 lawmen show up. I'm in the house, holding that 600 like FUCK I CAN'T KILL ALL OF THEM.
So I throw a mask on, run out the front door jump on my horse lone ranger style and get the fuck outta dodge. Somehow they didn't see me and I got so fuckin lost in the process.
I don't think Rockstar anticipated people playing this game like Grand Theft Auto...
the first RDR was also pretty unforgiving if/when you went down the wrong path...I suspect they do that on purpose to kind of separate it from GTA so ppl don’t just approach/simply look @ it as GTA in a western setting even tho that’s what it essentially is imo
