This was very underwhelming.
The first trailer for Infinity War might have set the bar too high. Lol. The CG was fantastic and there was no issue with showing too much since certain things either never happened or didn't happen the way the trailer showed.
This movie will be good but the trailer was meh.
Also, it looks like they're not going to connect it to Infinity War until the post credits scene.

My issue was that I hoped the character, being a Black Woman, had depth and wasn't just a prop. Do you have a "problem" with that?

Yep a few people have been Captain Marvel. The Black woman is now known as Spectrum and Marvel Comics actually had them talking about who owns the name.
Itgs not that. You're inferring all of that without knowing anything about the movie other than they showed a pic of her colleague. So you're saying all that withoutfactoring in that the character or now the daughter of the character will become a person just as powerful as Captain Marvel.

What is funny is that Fan Made Youtube Captain marvel trailers are way better then the actual marvel version. Again i will give trust marvel but this was one of the most underwhelming trailers.

The one thing DC had to hang their hat on was providing the best pro-girl/ feminist superhero movie. Looks like Marvel is about to take that too.
This was a solid first trailer. CGI in the first trailer is always lacking so I'm tripping too much over that. They didn't give too much away. CGI de-aged Nick Fury and Colson looks on par with their previous movies. And this was a nice setup for the Skrull invasion. She punched that fuck outta that old woman. Though I imagine if you don't know shit about the Skrulls then you're probably wondering why the trailer showed the hero attacking grandma.

Idk why yall expect the CG to be 200% polished in the first trailer for a movie thats six months away, not to mention that the movie JUST finished filming in July
Plus they also stated that the movie will be 90s Sci fi action inspired so I would expect the CGI to be kinda "retro futuristic" if you will
