Yep the student loan crisis is Coming to a head

Prior to you signing for the loan, wasn't the interest rate and possible interest rates disclosed?
You wanted a college degree and decided to pay for it. Then you seeked out a loan to pay for it. You get the loan, get the degree, then you don't want to pay the loan? How is this taking responsibility? You could have not gone to college or went to the Military if you didn't want a student loan. Instead you CHOSE to get a loan to go to college and get a profession which didn't pay enough to pay back the loan. What am I missing?
Joining the military / becoming govt property / slave is / was NEVER an option. My inital college days were FREE...... I had a full presidential scholarship. Aid wasnt even something I applied for. I didnt know about it until I got to school cause I didnt need it. ALL my books, room, school fees, & food was paid for for 4 yrs. I got the loan money to live it up while I was in school... didnt know any better.

FUCK the govt. I was collecting my ss my 2nd year & every year after that till graduation. Grad school was also free. ijs. I had no intention of paying my student loans back. The crazy shit is..... when I looked into my loan situation a dude locked up in Cali for 60 years was the holder of my loans for a very long time. Same name & the whole shit. Then AFTER I did my sf181 ALL the shit on my credit report vanished! FUCK paying them mufukkas. Im proud about beating them outta $70,000 racks. Why would I feel obligated to pay them back???? who does that?

Ended grad school with 165k now I'm down to 40k. I have a feeling they will forgive all student loans by the time I'm done. ...smh.

That's two range rovers.

But that also required you to change your name?

Mailbox- You got student loans for Beautician college?
Couldn't you have learned how to shape eyebrows do free in the penitentiary ?
You shouldnt have skipped english class......

I was in the 1st group of ga students who got the hope grant scholarship. Cosmetology school was free for me. They dnt actually teach eyebrow arching in cosmetology school.

Cosmetology school.... a good 1 will run you a cool $20k

Massage therapy school is btwn $10 & $20k

Why would o get locked up like you to attempt to get an education..... can you explain to me how providing a service women NEED & pay well for is some sort of homo jail shit??? You seem to focus on homo erotic jail shit a lot. How long is ya bid?

I graduated Chiropractic school with 165k in loans. My GI bill took care of all undergrad. That 165k was all from Chiroprctic school. 2 years after graduation, wrote them bitches a check for 165k and was done. I ended up choosing the right profession, many don't.

Yeah here are the guidelines that many still dont qualify for. I tried it for my wife, even though her school closed down prior to her finishing her course and getting any cert, but for over 20 yrs ago, she still has this debt looming. Think I may try and fight it again for her.

I’m thinking about turning my site into a non-profit organization since it can be 501(c)3 tax exempt. I might be able to swing the public service loan forgiveness program by doing that.

Could be a slick work around

So you take out a 500k loan to avoid paying a 27k loan that you took out to get yourself an education?
Do yourself a favor take out another 100k and get your ass back in school bro.
You sound kinda dumb.

Im self employed. They're not going to "garnish" anything but money i get back from tax returns (which is non because i always pay). Trust me, it works for self employed people lol. All i have to do is take out a 500K+ loan around every October and im in the "red" a lot, but im not really in the red. It's a chance i take...I know but if i continue doing it, i'll continue to avoid paying them.

Possibly

After TEN YEARS of payments on your loan will they forgive it. Some real BS!

Here's their excerpt:
The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.

So you identified a career choice and signed a contract where you knowingly will pay tens of thousands of dollars but didn't even know the qualifications to get the job? Why didn't you look at job announcements or talk to people currently employed in your career choice? How can you blame everyone else for you not doing these things? I don't get it.
It is like someone paying 200K for a Lambo and then wanting to get their money back because they couldn't pull any bitches. College is a tool. Millions of people do well without it, Millions of people do well with it. Can't blame everyone because you used it ineffectively.

College is not a supposed to be a tool bro, College supposed to be the medium between you and a job. I'm not debating that i need to pay it. Im saying that worse case scenario, i'll slowly pay for it. I could easily pay it in a few month but i dont want to.

Don't need to go to school because i make enough money and have a wonderful life. Yes, i take out a 500k loan because i have access to it and i actually do use it for my business. It's a win win.

I disagree. A medium would mean that simply graduating college is supposed to give you a job. It is more a tool in that you go to college with the hope of it making you marketable for a job. Trade school,POST(Police Academy), Nursing School,Fire Academy,Chiropractic School etc etc are also tools but more of a "medium" for a career because they actually give you relatable training to the actual job you would be doing.

Damn yeah I see the public service loan forgiveness in which my wife is in 2022 she will be finished. The only other programs are military forgiveness and disability forgiveness. You better volunteer with the Peace Corp ..

I'm waiting for them to act on my VA disability discharge now. Hope that shit goes in my favor because I'm not trying to pay a dime of that shit back.

Yup, can't really argue with that. If you go to school for any of the above, actually graduate and catch find a job then it probably has something to do with you. Well, actually, with the exception of about 2 of those. Now my point relates to the other unless course they make you take in college. Now, college have "CORE" (Cuny) course that are just based built to extort you. Non of those course relate to a damn thing. If im going into the medical field then why in the hell im in stuck in here taking sociology classes (with the exception of Medical Sociology)? Why am i doing Art? WTF am i suppose to do with those...

between home loans, student loans, and credit cards
this country goal is to keep every man, woman and child in debt

this is the purpose...the new slavery....debt. you will work and pay that shit or you will lose what you have and go to jail and work for peanuts while they pimp you for low cost labor.....ever heard of debtors prison...they actually trying to bring that shit back through child support arrears...wont be too much longer before they start making examples of people to recover their money unless you plan on skipping the country. its not a good look. i paid mine off by the grace of God. felt good to get that gorilla off my back bc once they start calling they never stop.

Didn't yall willingly get these loans? Were you lied to about them or something? I don't understand why paying back a loan you willingly signed up for is fucked up.If you didn't feel the loan was fair, why did you signup to get it?

Would the answer "Because I don't have a scholarship, and if I didn't take the loan, I can't go to school to get the necessary education to start my career" suffice?

A lot of White folks with big college debt are buying homes.

They then take out a 2nd mortgage on the property. the loans are paid off on the 2nd mortgage.

Then when shit hits the fan, they default on the mortgages and start over.

Damn that sounds nice... More than one way to skin a cat.. I like it

Damn all that just for school

I pray for you “educated” niggas daily

Where are the idiots who say the military ain’t for brown people?

My daughter’s have a free ride to school, free. Y’all niggas foot the bill lol

Grad school was free
My 1st 3 yrs of college was free...

When this first came out I was all over it. The catch was Student Loans told me I was not in the right the "repayment program" to qualify. If I were to switch to the right "repayment program" my monthly repayment amount would more than double. After 10 years or 120 payment at the new rate, I would have paid off my loan anyway, so it did not make sense for me. I just kept the low monthly payment and invest my money elsewhere.

Wow, thanks for sharing that. They set it up as a total complete sham to the public like they were helping anyone.
Also surprised only 30k people somewhat qualified, then of those, 96 people got relief. Now I see why. If they force people to basically pay the entire loan over the 10 years anyways probably paying double what would be a normal payment.

There's 43m people with student loan debt, can't tell me only 30k are public service workers. They are foul.

I'd probably considering doing something similar.

The other problem is that a lot of the borrowers do not know the rules, so you may be getting shitted on in the process as well and they can't tell you why because they don't know what they are talking about.

I went to a for profit scam college and imnstillntrying to get them to forgive the loan since the school is a scam. I dont know what to do.
