Yep the student loan crisis is Coming to a head

Would the answer "Because I don't have a scholarship, and if I didn't take the loan, I can't go to school to get the necessary education to start my career" suffice?

Again, this is avoiding taking responsibility. There are plenty of people that graduated from college and got careers that compensated them sufficiently to repay their student loans. There are also plenty of people that didn't go to college and made enough money to afford their desired lifestyle. If someone signs up for a loan to get education in a career that doesn't pay them enough to repay the loan, then how is that anyone's fault but theirs? Gotta run the numbers before signing the loan.

Who is shirking their responsibility? It's simple...get the loans, or don't go to school. That's where millions of people are today. And chances are, if you have a lot of debt (like those in med school, law school, etc. for example), there is a chance that you'll be paying off these loans until the day you die. But there are people who are trying to do the right thing and pay these loans, but with all the interest, it's a losing battle. The thing you're not realizing is the system is set up that way, and many (not all) have no choice but to play the game if they want to pursue their chosen field. And the government knows this.

Sounds like you're blaming the victim with the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality. Are you a Republican or something?

Just kidding...sort of.

I get calls constantly for debt consoldiation for my loans however I don't trust these programs, most of them are private and I don't trust them at all. And also once I sign up, I lose the lower interest rate from my orginal loans.

1. I want to sign up for more information on these loans, what website can keep me up to date?

2. I owe 36k, what do you think I should do?

3. I really wanna cancel them but I don't think cacs will let that slide.
