only 1 minutes into this ep but I was just thinking that...it was good to have him and his friends on the show to get black men’s perspective on there...so far this season daniel just seems like a prop on the show...still early in the season tho
Damn I absolutely love the song at the end of this episode

That’s exactly how I feel.
Lawrence was a fully formed Character... and it was unique to get a black mans perspective when it comes to regaining trust in women when you are the one cheated on.
That’s something that black shows... never fucking give us. I would have liked to see Insecure kind of Split between Issa and Lawrence. Taking away Lawrence turns the show into nothing but Girlfriends with cussing and nudity.
I agree, but it's Issa s show and she said fuck all of that shit. I suspect that's the exact result that she didn't want, a competing male character who is as much of the show as her. It would have been so much better if they continued to develop him and possibly them.Exactly, as I explained it to everybody who tried to say "Lawrence isn't the main character he's an ex so he shouldn't be in Issa life as much anymore". Him and Issa are fully formed characters and their life's are at the top hierarchy and all the friends and dating partners they have spawn off from those two trees. You don't waste fully developed characters like that on a 30 minute show cause you had to take a lot of time to develop them.
I feel the show missed a critical opportunity to explore his entire battle with dating as a black man and regaining trust in women, etc. Plus without him there you lose his two homeboys which were comedy material themselves.
Imo it needs to be formed as the Issa and Lawrence show not as just the Issa show. Hopefully they realize this and fix everything for season 4. Hell the few episodes we got when Lawrence wasn't around Issa at all were some of the most talked about and popular scenes.
They have an opportunity to really capture an even stronger male audience percentage, but the show can't turn into Girlfriends 2.0 or guys will start checking out if we're not represented enough in the storyline.
Minus the attractive females. That’s exactly how I feel.

... focusing on Issa seems like we are rewarding a cheater...
Even as a card carrying member of #LawrenceHive, I have to admit, some of these complaints are a bit much. People are acting like Jay Ellis was in the writers room banging out scripts and mapping out his character arc for each season. If the same writing team was able to create such a relatable male character, what makes you think they can't do it again? There are plenty of good black male characters that pass through the show, it's just that Issa and Molly sabotage the relationships because they're I-N-S-E-C--
She also enjoys being in a place of superiority in helping others. Rather than empowering others to not need her. This is exactly how my observations have been of very liberal white folks. They enjoy doing humanitarian efforts and helping others but from a superior position.
wait...what? you’re going too far imo there are lots of great shows that have flawed protagonists...ppl aren’t perfect
I don't see it that way. She went from being in a relationship with a faithful dude in an apt shopping for new couches to sleeping on a couch listening to a dude fuck other women all night. She has been struggling since Laurence.I think by Kicking out Lawrence and Focusing on Issa's redemption... You are kind of rewarding her actions. That's just my opinion.

I know some dudes would only be happy if Cocaine Lorraine and Amber Rose played Molly and Issa, but Yvonne and Issa are not ugly women. Y'all really think they're less attractive than the women of Broad City, Girls, or Sex in the City? The cast is on par with almost any black sitcom I can think of. The women look just as good, in some cases better, than the white women you see in sitcoms who are asked to be more than the hot wife or girlfriend.
Y’all cryin about this bein a chic show
Well fuckin duh it’s main cast are women
It’s called insecure
Are y’all fuckin dumb?
Cryin about one dude more than Issa
She is not cute at allthey’re insects!! holy shit! always thought molly’s eyes were too big

Issa is eh...
Molly is like a low budget toni childs, without the “it” factorshe can be @ times...she looks good on the show but in interviews I’ve seen she didn’t look as attractive...issa on the other hand is the reverse for me...she oozes no sexuality on the show (which is probably part of her being in character)...but she’s sexy as hell off the show when she’s not in character mode
Molly and Issa are probably relatable looks-wise for the women watching.

NAH
it's about investing time in a character with no closure. that's all.
Lawrence didn't die he's in L.A. lol We're interested in what he's doing. He didn't have to be integral at the same time Issa is not about that she feels like it should no longer be about them since there's no them and just about her and that's her right to do so.
as far as the women on the show i dont watch it for the women to look at I watch it to see great acting and compelling story lines and they deliver.
