LOL... I was typing up Jemele to see what she has been up to and it was the first thing that popped up. I decided to see what they hell they were talking about.
They dial it back to more of an affect than a full on accent because to the casual ear authentic Jamaican accents are difficult to understand.
Bushmaster is the only one that sounds somewhat believable regardless. But at least they don't sound like them bullshit ass Jamaicans in Marked for Death or Predator 2
Then they could of used subtitles. The only person I have heard so far that was authentic was the lady in the restaurant who asked him if he wanted some goat.
You can have the dialect and be understood, as in Belly or many other movies. But this accent is as bad as Taye Diggs when he played that Jamaican character in Stella Got Her Groove Back.
It's just bad.
But still watching, love the series period, am on like the 4th episode.

Chic at my job told me today, she couldn't make it past the first episode of the first season because of his acting.
I do like how Misty has finally come to her senses and is actively working with Luke Cage.
Unlike the others... I actually really enjoy Mike Coulter’s performance as Luke Cage. He gives that blaxploitation type of performance.
It’s also refreshing to see a hero that doesn’t hide.
That intro music/sequence is clean as hell... props to Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge 
most of the marked for death cats had some authentic accents but yeah predator 2 and cool runnings was some bullshit..
But disappointing that they have fake yardies on luke cage ..the great thing about this show was its authenticity and unapologetic blackness
