AAA Report: Americans Spend 7% Of Income On Gasoline

June 13, 2018 at 8:32 pm
Filed Under:AAA Chicago, Chicago Gasoline Prices, gas prices, Illinois gas prices

CHICAGO (CBS) — Americans are spending $69 more each month to fill up their tank, according to a Triple A report.

On Wednesday, the Chicago average is $3.26 per gallon of regular gasoline.

The average price is $2.999 for the rest of Illinois, compared to the national average of $2.91.

Analysts say Americans are now spending 7% of their income on gas, a statistic that is up 1.5% from last year.

If you make $45,000 per year, you’re shelling out over $3,000 just to put gas in your vehicle.

Peace BROTHER,

In a place like "THE APPLE" with a fantastic public transit system, which can pretty much move you all around the city, the gas issue can be dealt with.

But in LA with is very bad public transit system a car is almost a necessity. You can do the ride sharing if you like, but that is not for me.

From people who I know who take or have taken ride sharing as an alternative it can be:
  • expensive
  • confrontational
  • very neat and clean or a pig pen

BROTHER,

That is one of the many beauties of NYC, easy access to the sites.

One of the many reasons I love NYC. My second favorite city next to DETROIT.

:hmm:….laying it on a little thick here...…. how much will you be selling bean pies for now ???

……...:hmm:

You tag that with the rising energy costs, I bet it's like 20+ in northern states.

My homeboy told me in the winter time, that he was paying $350+ a month for Consumers Energy from December - April in Saginaw, Mi

Yeah, I believe that. Especially if you trying to keep your spot warm for the kids, wife and if you seniors at the spot. If you have an older, big and a none energy efficient spot which has not be updated.

You go into alot of peoples homes during the winter and its sometimes chilly to down right cold. Their heat is still on. But some only burn the heat when absolutely necessary.

Fuck your posts faggit

You talk shit for years then you bitch the fuck up

You fuckin herb

Think it sucks in AmeriKKKa?!
It cost about $120.00 to fill up a 15gal tank in Germany.

Damn, I am glad I have a 8 minute commute these days, I remember when I had a 45 minute commute each way with no traffic. That shit was killing my time and my pockets.

Everything will be hybrid and self driving soon, then gas prices will drop again.

If my city had a good transit system, I would use it!! But this city public transportation runs as if its the 60's. They dont have routes to the suburbs or where the decent jobs are and they stop running around 830 or 9pm!! So, I have to buy a car to get around!!

BROTHER,

I agree the about the self driving cars and hybrids will be in abundance.

But according to agenda 21 the goal is to discourage individual car ownership.

They probably will do this by:
  • high gas prices
  • high insurance rates
  • high vehicle purchase prices
  • high ticket prices
  • high maintenance price
  • vehicles designed to only be diagnosed by computer and beyond the ability of the average person DIY to fix
  • toll roads everywhere
  • per mile charge meters in cars
  • city planning and layout
  • non-maintenance of roads
And few other things that may seem beyond concept, right now.

BROTHER,

That is the reality for many people whether in big or small cities.

I like the freedom that comes with owning a car. The ability to hit the road whenever you like.

98 percent of things these days, I can be delivered to people these days. People who never drive save a lot of bread.

I forgot to mention the yearly license & registration fee. It will probably be equivalent to making mortgagepayments for a couple of months:

I forget if it was on here or out in the world. Somebody told me in their home state the price for license and registration of a vehicle is the same no matter what kind of car or the purchase price of the vehicle.

The price was far less than $100/year.

But they are going to kill vehicle owners with license and registration fees.

Man before 9/11 in college was lovely and gas was maybe .98 -$1.25/gallon for regular.

$5/person for a two-hour, 120 mile road trip to another campus (5 deep in my Civic; low man had to ride in the middle). $25 got us to and from and a bottle of Paul Masson to sip on the way. Blackplanet meant we had chicks lined up when we touched down. Good times.

Planes hit those buildings and the same day gas that afternoon was $4/gallon and lines stretched a mile long. Have rarely sniffed under $2/gallon since.

Do you think that is leading society to a bad place? Nobody want to get out and do anything.

I can see a day coming where people will never leave their homes. Just sit back and become big fat blog or skinny emaciated, bubble head beings.

The ultimate goal is to limit your travel and keep people confined to certain areas.

Peace BROTHER,

Sounds like some of the road-trip I have done.

Gas is crazy here in California. Gas is like $3.60 for regular on the cheap.

I work from home 9 months out of the year and drive to the office the other three. I used my mint application to pull up all the times I bought gas in 2017 and it damn near came out to 7% of my income exactly. This tells me this number is on the low end of things because most people drive to work every day and have to do shit with their children as well not to mention other errands and shit. Some folks very welll May spend 20% of their income on gas.

One of the reasons why they outlawed the electric car. Whites act like they found us primitive and civilized us. We lived in societies more advanced than what we have today. Before we build the pyramids we were flying so called ufo's. Some how they erased the minds of the masses and now we are dependent on them and their lies instead if them being dependent on us and truth.

THEY DELETED THIS DOCUMENTARY AND THE BBC DOCUMENTARY ON RWANDA EVEN FROM OTHER SITES WHERE IT WAS AT

Got to jump on a used Prius till I can get a Tesla 3. I'm spending probably more than $7,000 a year. Got a 32 mile one way commute.
