Kingdom Hearts 3 finally gets a release date
After a 13-year wait since the last installment,
Kingdom Hearts 3will finally be released on Jan. 25, 2019.
Director Tetsuya Nomura made a surprise appearance at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour in Los Angeles on Saturday night to share the news through a trailer. While recordings of the trailer itself were restricted, fans that got first dibs on the news were quick to share on social media. The Kingdom Hearts team later
confirmed the date on Twitter, although the trailer itself has yet to be shown.
In 2017,
anothertrailer shown at Disney fan convention D23
first shared that the game was expected to launch in 2018. “I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned,” Nomura wrote on the tweet. “Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3.”
For those who have waited so long with only
side games and teasers to hold them over, hopefully the wait is nearly over, and it will all have been worth it.
Kingdom Hearts 3is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
