0fficial 2017-2018 NBA Postseason Thread....NBA Finals Cavs vs Warriors 0-4(dubs back 2 back champs)

Do yall agree if GS had NOT added Durant went back to the Finals and avenged the loss to Bron the following year (a la Spurs in '14) theyd get more props than they ultimately will get winning as the West all stars? That it actually would hurt Brons legacy?
More props. Yes. Hurt LeBron legacy? No.

Ultimately he would still be losing to statistically the best team ever. That's not a legacy damaging loss. Especially when his finals wins would still include Duncan's Spurs , a 73 win team and a OKC team with 3 MVPs who caught a gentlemen's sweep.

When Lebron son'd them in 2016...they probably also thought about their title in 2015... where it took them 6 games and Lebron had to play without Love and Kyrie (that's still the most impressive losing series I've ever seen... i was more impressed by that then the miami title runs), they panicked. You shouldn't even want to play on a team this stacked if you're a competitor
Bron took em 6 wit an Austrailian midget didn't he ?

All jokes aside. Why do we hear more about Welvin missing one game of 7 for dick kicks and Cavs winning than we do about Bron missing Kyrie and Kev an entire series and going 6?

Chuck is the Dr truth of predictions after game 1 he said the rockets will get swept.. come game 7 he said the warriors was gonna lose lmaooo

He only said the warriors would win to hope they'd lose he's been actively rooting for them to lose for 4 straight years now
He ended last night's broadcast saying "come on Bron Bron"

And you know the fuck shit he's said about LeBron

And yet....

Rodman was 34 and out of his prime when he joined the Bulls. Durant was 27 and in his prime. Yall need to stop this whatabout shit. There arent comparables available for a player of Durant's caliber in his prime joining a 73 win team. Just own the shit. I don't know why you even do that shit. I would just ask niggas for their address to send them fan gear if this was my team.

I want consistency I own the team I'm not looking for a qualifier
No other team has to fight for respect after going to the finals 4 times

If niggas would simply say ok you won I wouldn't even be in here

I know it's nothing but hate I embrace it keep the hate coming please do.

He hated the Rockets while they played the Warriors too. He just hated the Warriors more.

I'm not sure what that proves. But the game was officiated poorly. Rockets got hosed for sure. Harden had 3 non calls on blatant 3 point fouls. I mean blatant. And the refs swallowed their whistles on several blatant hacks in the paint on Harden, Gordon, and Capella. Not to mention two absolutely ridiculous moving screens where niggas was doing their best Moose Johnson impersonation .

None of that will be focused on tho because the rockets played so incredibly stupid that that is the bigger culprit.

So now we say the rockets got hosed???

You dudes should absolutely be ashamed of yourselves

Steph curry shot 2 free throws over hame 6 and game 7 with mirroring the amount of drives harden had over that span

And now the rockets got hosed

Nope

Wouldn't mean shit there'd be another excuse there's always an excuse

3 blatant three point fouls ignored. Two blatant moving screens on threes. Thats alot of points bro.... And thats even if im ignoring the hacks on Gordon, Capela and Harden.

The James Harden Step BacK travel :roflmao::roflmao: I spit my smoothie on my phone man! Smh
Its true. The fundamentals some are losing some are advancing. Look at the 2 basic fundamentals in basketball: shooting and dribbling. It has evolved so much.

Shooting has gotten better and thats fundamental. We criticize people modern day because they lack the fundamentals of the 50's or 60's or even the 90's. But Players learn and perfect the fundamentals that are best suited for there era.

Imagine steph curry coming around in the early 70's. He would not be who he is you know why? Cuz part of what makes him so great is his shooting/range. If steph curry shooting 30 jump shots in the 70's you know how many points it would be worth? Just 2. :frozen:

Does that mean curry would be ass or avg? No, he would just have to perfect other fundamentals. Shit far as we know he might have been just an avg shooter because he would not have put in the practice and time to be such an elite 3 point shooter. But he would have found a nitch somewhere.

Meanwhile people like kyle korver who is just a role player and nothing more if he played in the 70's he probably would not make the nba because his value is shooting.

There are certain fundamentals that transcend any era of basketball.

I mean do you expect these kids to perfect the sky hook shot? That fundamental is way more important in the 60's than in the 2000's.

Some people play in the best era they could have played in.

Imagine Rondo playing in the 60's :barbeque:

Now also imagine lets say Jordan playing in the 70's. He would have been great regardless just like LeBron but i think Bron would have been better in the 70's

Just last week...

"Michael was never asked to do the things on the court LeBron is asked to do....its become disrespectful to LeBron"

1:29 mark clearly states 'In me eye, Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT'

If Scottie dont believe it i sure dont.

Now Kevin Durant gon save MJs legacy. :giggle:

You missed the the whole point of what he's saying because of your obsession :smh:.

Steph has 2 championships and wasn’t the MVP of either and more than likely won’t be the MVP if they win this either

Yeah the refs swallowed their whistles big time in that second half but they didn’t cost the Rockets the game. Most of those bullshit non-calls on Harden and Gordon were shots were they weren’t even trying to make the shot anyway, they were just trying to draw fouls. I haven’t watched FirstTake yet but Shannon Sharpe and Jason Terry are saying what everybody else is saying, the Rockets jacking up bad 3’s is what cost the game. I blamed it on the coach because that had to be his game plan for the second half and he deserves to be FIRED!!!!

Steph got robbed of the MVP the 1st series
PERIOD
he averaged 26 a night had a bad game 2 but more than made up for it in every other game.
nobody else on the warriors averaged 17 points a game.

The 70s is the most physical era of basketball. Alot of cokeheads was roaming the floor back then. So many HOF big men, faaaaar more than the 80s and 90s that folks rave about. Wilt, Kareem, Unseld, Willis Reed, Dave Cowens, Bob Lanier, Thurmond, Big Elvin Hayes. :itsawrap:

I dont look at boxscores . I watch the games. Last nite was poorly officiated to your benefit. Its ok to admit that bills.

It's only OK to admit it if you can admit that prior games were poorly officiated to their benefit that's my only point.
If we say the officials did a wishy washy job during the series in a few games then I agree.
But we not gonna be like they ONLY did stuff in your favor in 1 game in the entire series when its not true
it's not about the box score but even in the box score you could clearly see that it was fuckery.

the problem has never been me admitting anything it's the rest of people admitting anything that didn't go right for the warriors. that's the problem.

Chuck feel like previous ownership (Les Alexander) still owe him money.

Kenny don't make it no better because he always rub it in and say how good an owner Alexander was.

Good series win btw... Now go sweep the Cavs

Kenny was rooting for you guys while trying to be unbiased I don't expect Kenny to not root for you guys though I was really fine with that but even he didn't take it like Shaq and Chuck did.

Nope we not gonna sweep anybody.
We're gonna go out there take it 1 game at a time and try to win 4 times nothing more nothing less.

I'm not gonna sit here and complain, say what coulda, shoulda, woulda.... But this Rockets team was essentially the same team that lost to GSW a few years ago or even last year...

James Harden and a bunch of nobodies. Chris Paul was the X Factor that was supposed to put us over the top and unfortunately he was hurt.

As for the officiating, I don't know the refs name but it's been all over Facebook on Rockets fan pages and, the Rockets haven't won a game this dude has officiated in like 2 years. Two of the four losses the Rockets had in this series (including game 7) were officiated by this particular ref.

**EDIT**
The referee's name is Scott Foster.

I've seen enough missed call compilations of this game 7 to make me sick. But it is what it is. You play the game, you make adjustments, you make buckets. We didn't do that and the better team won. I just hope we can keep our core together, add a few more pieces, and contend again next year.

Iggy won the MVP because of the defensive job he did on Lebron

I think I'm leaning towards Lebron being the goat. Or I'll say the greatest I've ever seen play. You take any player off the warriors and they're still a fucking team of multiple all stars.. still a favorite to win the title. If you take Lebron off this current Cavs roster, they could legitimately be a lottery team..even in the East. Take your favorite player off their current squad and plug them in Lebron's place. Put Curry on there.. put Durant... or Harden. his playoff run has been epic.

That's funny considering Scott Foster calls more fouls against the warriors than anyone. including last night and it was by a wide margin too.

the refs missed calls on both sides
but can we acknowledge the missed calls that got you a lead in the series in the first place or nah?

I have no problem attacking the refs from both sides I have a problem when it's only the refs help that helps the warriors win.
when it's just not true. and most times its in the reverse.
were the refs consistently inconsistent this series can we agree with that?

The defensive job of holding lebron to 50 points 20 rebounds and 17 assists a night

While putting in 16 points a game?

Sounds legit

When they put Iggy in the starting lineup specifically to guard Lebron James he is credited as the reason that series turned around. What other reason could you think of that would’ve gotten Iggy the MVP?

Defending LeBron
A year ago, Kawhi Leonard won the Finals MVP while guarding LeBron James. Leonard, one of the elite perimeter defenders in the league today did a magnificent job on James but it can be said that Iguodala accomplished a greater feat from an efficiency standpoint. Per ESPN Stats & Information, James shot 58% from the field against Leonard in the 2014 Finals and an abysmal 33% with Iguodala as the defender. While it is hard to 'stop' LeBron James, it is not impossible to wear him down.

As the primary defender on James, Iguodala contested and forced him into tough shots throughout the entire series. James was often seen trying to get a jumper up with the shot-clock winding down because of great on-ball defense by Iguodala in the isolation. Besides that, Iguodala has also been discipline by rarely switching off of James. ESPN Stats & Information states that of the 90 possessions where Iguodala started off on James, the Cavaliers could only force him to switch 18 times (20 percent).

That's not why the series turned around though. The series turned around by inserting Iggy into the starting lineup because Bogut was getting abused by Thompson and Mosgov he wasn't as fast or athletic as them and they beat him up and down the court.
The series turned when we stopped running the offense through bogut and other bigs and put the ball into Curry's hands for the entire possession so that they couldn't grab and hold him.

Any player who engages in a fight is subject to a fine of $10,000 and a suspension.
This went into effect March 7, 1977

I could only imagine LeBron being allowed to dribble with his back to the basket longer than 5 seconds.

And ability to hand check guys
