0fficial 2017-2018 NBA Postseason Thread....NBA Finals Cavs vs Warriors 0-4(dubs back 2 back champs)

Chris Paul better be smart and not play game 7 and risk a even worse injury. He is in a contract year he need to be more concerned about protecting himself so he can secure his last big contract.

Lakers 2019 (Big 3)

Chris Paul
Paul George
LeBron James

YES..the Rockets are a good 3 point shooting team so when they got hot early I THOUGHT it was gonna continue but they started jacking up nothing but 3’s. When the Warriors started that run they panicked and was not only jacking up 3’s but started really really turning the ball over. Once GS caught up and passed them they stopped jacking 3’s and started driving and trying to draw fouls instead of make the shot just like they did in Game 1, most of those drives by Harden and Gordon you could tell they weren’t even concentrating on hitting the shot, that’s how Harden kept getting his blocked or stripped
I don't know why you possibly could have thought that. The rockets haven't shot good from 3 the whole series. And outside of 1 game, GS has played good defense. So what wasn't sustainable! There was no way the rockets was gonna shoot like that the whole game; especially only playing 6 players....

I sincerely stopped reading here.. YOU mentioned injuries. I showed you how ALL you rings were injury dependent. You respond talking about missed free throws..
Did u count it against lbj when bogut and iggy got hurt:hmm:I'm sure u don't and I've never heard you have. Until you can learn to be unbias or apply the same logic you use against GS to others ; you should stop commenting and stop reading....

dude all this is kool, u made some great great references but missing the free throws shit is as useless as tits on a bull frog....

injuries can't be deny, ref cheating I'm on the fence if thats a reliable thing(but I'm ok if folks use that)
Take the free trows out then, all good. Iggy and Bogut got hurt among other things. Do you count it against LBJ?

yup, it is what it is......just seeing free throws in that equation was odd
That's all I'm saying, it is what it is period. So when your old friend brings dumb shit up say something. Cause at the end of day, no one's look back and thinks or says those rings don't count.

Paul has always been injury prone and it was only a matter of time before he got injured again and he gets injured at the most crucial times..

Don’t think it would have mattered tho
I think the issue is Paul is overweight. He does not have the best conditioning. If he played about 12 pounds lighter it would probably help his injury issues

With season on the line, Celtics 'ready for a dogfight'
BOSTON – Physicality is one of those intangibles that's difficult to quantify, but most involved are well aware when it's present.

Game 7 with a trip to the NBA Finals at stake?

You can count on tonight's game being the most physical one of a series that has had his share of dust-ups among players looking to set a physical tone.

"It's going to be a lot of fun, first and foremost" said Boston's Terry Rozier. "It's going to be a lot of fun. We're looking forward to it. Obviously, we came up short (in Game 6). But we need the whole city of Boston to be behind us. We know LeBron is different than a lot of other guys, but we've got to get the job done. That's no excuse, so we're looking forward to it."

Rozier added, "You've got your fans behind you. It's a whole different feeling when you're playing at home. You're just so amped. Our crowd is unbelievable, one of the best in basketball. We're looking forward to it. It's going to be a lot of fun."

Said Stevens: "It's win or go home. It's an absolute blast to prepare for as a coach and play in as a player. It'll be a heck of a challenge, playing a really good team with obviously a tremendous individual player who put on a tremendous show (in Game 6)."

MATCHUP FOR HORFORD

JAYSON TATUM

The collision Tatum had in the first quarter of Game 6 put Kevin Love into the NBA's concussion protocol program and certainly left Tatum dazed along with a bump on the back of his head. All the tests he took after the game and on Saturday, showed no signs of a concussion for the 20-year-old. If that holds up for tonight, his play will once again be vital to Boston's chances of advancing to the NBA Finals.

 TRANSITION PLAY" style="max-width: 100%; color: rgb(27, 27, 27); font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px;"> TRANSITION PLAY

Boston's ability to get out for easy scores in transition has been among the less-talked-about ingredients when it comes to cooking up a victory. In their three wins over Cleveland, Boston has averaged 13.7 fast-break points compared to 7.7 in losses.

BENCH PRODUCTION" style="max-width: 100%; color: rgb(27, 27, 27); font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px;">BENCH PRODUCTION

With Boston limiting its second unit primarily to the two Marcuses, Smart and Morris, it's important for the Celtics to keep the scoring gap off the bench relatively close. Since shortening the rotation to just two players in Game 5, Boston's 1-2 punch off the bench was outscored 33-26 in Boston's Game 5 win. But the scoring gap among reserves was greater (36-23) in Cleveland's Game 6 win.

MARCUS MORRIS HOME/ROAD SPLITS

The Celtics have a number of players who have performed better at home than on the road, a group that includes Marcus Morris. At the TD Garden, he's averaging 15.3 points while shooting 43.6 percent from the field. On the road, Morris' scoring drops to just 9.7 points (9-for-26) on 34.6 percent shooting.

No Love for Game 7 doesn't necessarily mean advantage Celtics
By A. Sherrod Blakely May 26, 2018 4:11 PM
BOSTON –The idea of the Cavs going into a must-win Game 7 without Kevin Love, who's in the NBA concussion protocol and won't play Sunday night, should put the Celtics at a significant advantage, right?

Not exactly.

One of the keys to Boston’s success has been the impact Al Horford makes offensively, particularly at home. Horford has been at his best as a scorer in this series when matched up against Love.

In this series, Horford has scored 31 points on 61 possessions with Love as the primary defender, shooting 76.5 percent from the field (13-for-17) and 60 percent (3-for-5) from 3-point range in that matchup.

Horford will get a much heavier dose of LeBron James, Jeff Green and Larry Nance Jr., who combined to do a really good job on him in Game 6 when Horford scored just six points on 2-for-8 shooting.

But again, Horford has been a very different (read: better) player offensively at the TD Garden than on the road, regardless of who he’s matched up against.

Another byproduct of no Love for Game 7 is the potential for Boston to play Aron Baynes more.

Love’s ability to stretch the floor from beyond the 3-point line made him a tough cover for Baynes, who does his best work defensively around the post.

Baynes should have better luck defending Tristan Thompson, who had a series-low six rebounds in Game 5 at TD Garden.

Knowing Love won’t be out there, the Celtics have to brace themselves for a full 48 minutes of LeBron James, who had 46 points in 46 minutes in Game 6.

James will certainly look to be even more aggressive and impactful than we’ve seen in the first six games. And while he continues to score in bunches, the Celtics have done a slightly better job defensively against him at home than on the road.

At TD Garden, he’s averaging 27.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.7 assists while shooting 47.8 percent from the field.

When he’s in the comfy confines of Quicken Loans Arena, James’ numbers improve to 39.0 points, along with 7.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists, while shooting 55.4 percent from the field.

The bottom line is clear: With or without Kevin Love in the lineup, the Celtics are going to be challenged by a Cleveland team on several fronts as Boston tries to do what hasn’t been done in nearly a decade – send LeBron James home for the summer without a trip to the NBA Finals.

Three things to watch in Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers Game 7
c91d60e57c901cc99c70601fb4f9d131

One game. Winner moves on to the NBA Finals, loser can book early tee times starting Monday.

It’s a dramatic Game 7 between Boston and Cleveland for the Eastern Conference crown. In a series that has swung wildly in favor of whoever was the home team that night, the season comes down to one game for these two team. At this point, there are no more real adjustments — both teams, both coaches know what to expect from the other side. It’s about poise. It’s about keeping your head. It’s about what role player will step up big (as one always seems to do in quirky Game 7s).

Here are three things to keep an eye on in this game.

1) LeBron James. He’s the best player on the court, the best of his generation, and with the Cavs it all starts with him — he can’t be just merely good for the Cavaliers to win, he has to be superhuman. Which is what we’ve come to expect — he had 46 points in 46 minutes of play in Game 6 and that’s going to be needed again.

There are a lot of players who get tight and shrink from Game 7s. Not LeBron — for his career he has averaged 34.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in Game 7s. The last five times he’s been in a Game 7, LeBron’s teams have won (his last Game 7 loss was to the Celtics in 2008). Bottom line, if there’s one thing we know will happen in this game, it’s LeBron will be great. That, alone, is not enough to get the Cavaliers a win, which leads us too….

2) With Kevin Love out, will any other role players step up for the Cavaliers? Love has been the second best offensive player for the Cavaliers in the postseason, but they can survive his loss — this is a better defensive team without him (3.1 points per 100 possessions better when he is off the court in this series) and the offense often sees better ball movement and flow.

“I have to focus and try to do the same things that I prepared today to take into Sunday,” Hill said after Game 6. “It sounds funny, but I had to go find my Chipotle barbacoa. That’s my pregame meal, so I’m up two games — well, the three games here, that’s what I ate before the game. I’m for sure going to find a Chipotle in Boston, I’ll tell you that.”

3) Are the Celtics’ young stars ready for this pressure and this moment? Boston is at home, where they are a different team and an undefeated 10-0 this season. Boston is also the younger team that bounces back faster, something that matters because this is the third game in five days for these teams (great scheduling, NBA… ugh). The Celtics deserve to be the favorite, but the question that has hung over them all playoffs still looms for this game:" style="max-width: 100%;">3) Are the Celtics’ young stars ready for this pressure and this moment?Boston is at home, where they are a different team and an undefeated 10-0 this season. Boston is also the younger team that bounces back faster, something that matters because this is the third game in five days for these teams (great scheduling, NBA… ugh). The Celtics deserve to be the favorite, but the question that has hung over them all playoffs still looms for this game:

Is Boston ready for this stage and this level of pressure?

“I’ve tried my best all year to try and not talk about their age,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens said after Game 6. “It’s not about that. They’re really good basketball players. They’re really committed to each other. We all have a job to do and that’s go out and try to play the best we can. That’s regardless, Game 7, Game 1, a game in November, whatever the case may be… We need to be ready to play. We will be ready to play.”

Boston needs another aggressive first quarter from Brown (he’s done that most of the series). They need to force switches and run sets that get Horford space from Thompson. The Celtics need to defend, then run — they need to force the pace and try to wear down the older Cavaliers.

All season, all playoffs, despite being down men, the Celtics have just found a way to win. They need to do that one more time to reach the Finals.

Despite injury scare, LeBron James will be ready to go in Game 7
c02030c8340f510adb21b2bbe7ed25d0

“After the game, I didn’t know who got me,” LeBron said. “But after the game, Larry asked me if I was I OK, so I’m guessing he was the culprit of it. I just felt someone fall into my leg and my leg kind of went in. I felt some pain throughout my entire right side of my ankle into my leg. I was just hoping for the best, obviously, because I’ve seen so many different injuries, and watching basketball with that type of injury, someone fall into one’s leg standing straight up. Luckily, I was able to finish the game.”

Of course, LeBron will be good to go for Game 7 in Boston Sunday. If Friday night was any indication, he’s not going to be slowed by it at all.

“As soon as I leave here, I’ll start to prepare (for Game 7),” LeBron said from the podium postgame. “I’m going to get in the car and head back to Akron. As soon as I get home, I’ll start my treatment. I’ll do the same all day tomorrow from before we leave to go to Boston, and then once we get into Boston I’ll do that as well. Try to get as much sleep as I can with tonight and with tomorrow and even on Sunday before the game. That’s the best recovery that you can possibly get, is when you’re sleeping. It’ll be around-the-clock treatment, and we’ll see what happens.”

What’s going to happen is a dramatic Game 7 in the Garden, and we know that for Cleveland to have any chance LeBron has to be superhuman. Again.

Cavs vs. Celtics odds, Game 7: Expert on 8-2 roll releases picks for NBA Playoffs 2018
Larry Hartstein has his finger on the pulse of the NBA entering Game 7

It all comes down to one game. With a 2018 NBA Finals berth on the line, the Boston Celtics play host the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Boston opened as a 2.5-point favorite. The Over-Under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, has ticked down to 199.5 from an opening of 201.5.

Before picking either side in the 2018 NBA Playoffs, you need to read what SportsLine senior analyst Larry Hartstein has to say. Hartstein is on a phenomenal 8-2 run on spread picks involving the Cavaliers and 21-12 with all NBA teams this postseason.

Now, Hartstein has examined every matchup, every player and every trend for Game 7 and locked in his pick. He knows the line is way off and says one team "comfortably" covers the spread. He's sharing why, and which team to back, over at SportsLine.

Hartstein believes the absence of Kevin Love due to a concussion will stymie the Cavaliers, but won't be a mortal wound. He also has his eye on the Celtics' 10-0 record at TD Garden in the 2018 NBA Playoffs and is aware Cleveland has seized important games on the road, including two at top-seeded Toronto.

With Love out, expect the Cavaliers to play with a smaller, yet quicker lineup. Guard George Hill netted a quiet 20 points in Game 6 on 7-of-12 shooting. With LeBron James expected to be under duress every time he touches the ball, it's vital for Hill to hit his mid-range jumpers.

Just as important will be Kyle Korver's ability to knock down three-pointers. He's 12 for 22 from beyond the arc during the past five games, good for a 55 percent clip, but he's passed up open looks the past two games. Korver needs to play more selfishly and let his long-range shots fly.

As they've done all postseason, the Celtics can cover the spread by feeding off the intensity of the Boston crowd. The Celts are perfect at home this postseason and their average margin of victory has been over 11 points.

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been clutch this postseason and they'll be called on to produce yet again. Their speed has given the Cavs fits this series, and their ability to drive to the hoop and kick out to the open man has been unparalleled.

Sooooooo what was his actual pick?

Lebron has never scored 50 or more in a playoff game, might need it tonight. I would love to see him elevate his scoring and max out. He should be able to drop 50 on a rookie if is supposed to be the GOAT.

Jordan and AI used to score back to back 50 point games in the playoffs, no big deal.

Hope he does not quit or get tired again.

LeBron isnt AI or Jordan. He doesnt need 50 to beat the Celtics. MJ scored 63 and lost. Stop comparing Bron to players who aint seen 7 Finals before. Its disrespectful.

They usually lost those games. I also dont think AI should be mentioned with Lebron.

So is Lebron gonna score 25 or 30, and say he ain't have no help or score 50 or more and say he ain't have no help, if he loses, gets tired, or quits again?

If you ain't scoring 50, in a sport where the highest team wins, how can people say he had no help.

People felt sorry for Jordan and Iverson, because they were dropping 50 and losing, its a little more obvious that you have no help than if you just dropping 30, and losing by 10 to 20 points.

Y'all Captain Save-Lebron's kill me.

No doubt. Where do you rank 40 point triple doubles and no teammates scoring more than 10 on your "no help" meter?

You must not be good at math.

If you lose, you did not score enough to win. Lebron's ceiling is 45 points????

If you lose by 10, that means you need more points to win, not more hustle.

The Team with the most points wins, Lebron needs to make sure his team has the most points on the scoreboard, not the most assists and rebounds.

I just asked a question. How about simply answering it?

And maybe you missed the part where i said those 50 point scorers usually lost. So not sure your point holds merit that going over 50 some how validates a lack of help or over comes anything.

Stop making excuses for this man. If he does not win, it means he did not score enough points, plain and simple. Jordan would have gone bananas against a rookie.

Fuck all that triple double bullshit, just win.

2 rebounds and 2 assists a quarter ain't great, if you play 45 minutes a game and 6'9, who you fooling? Definitely not gonna lead the NBA for a season with those numbers, that is why he has not been league MVP in 5 years.

He needs to elevate his scoring, do what he has to do to win, bottom line, no excuses.

Jordan fans only focus on scoring because Jordan and Reggie Miller types only scored. They want Bron to score 50, 2 assists, 3 rebounds like MJ used to do. :giggle:

Lebron only averaged 1 or 2 rebounds and assists than Jordan for his career, while playing more minutes and being 6'9, you fucking retard.
