Have to give you props.... you are always on point with your guesses for domestic numbers.
I didn’t not think that it was going to beat Avatar’s domestic numbers back in March.
January and February releases used to be signs that the producers had no faith in the movie's performance. With Deadpool, and now Black Panther, releasing a movie in February is a good way to get a long slow burn because it literally has little to no competition.i dont think so ....other summer movies gonna hurt it...
it needed that winter release so it could get that long slow burn ...
it`s got some real heavy hitters on the way ...especially that solo for some reason...( that shit look ehh...)
if it gets to 800 quick it`s gonna make it real interesting...but even that is 350 away ...
i think if it did another 150 this weekend it might ....
BP did a 100 plus it`s 2nd weekend so that number doesnt really tell us shit...we will c next wk....
its got some breathing room...deadpool i think is in 2 wks & then solo after that ...if it can get the bulk of its money out the way then u never know...
again like i said it`s gotta get to 800 quick ...

So IW is not gonna catch BP domestically?
agree. But oh well. Didn't they actually move IW up to give Deadpool some shine? It will have to make $243 Million. You have to understand black Panther was lucky because it had no real competition . IW has Deadpool Next week and Star Wars in 2 weeks. I don’t believe it has the legs to earn another $243 Million Domestically especially when you have competition sucking up all the air
So IW is not gonna catch BP domestically?
Watching on bluray makes me realize how much shitty cgi and green screens are in this movie.
I am willing to overlook the green screen, can't wait to watch it on my 75" Samsung 4KWatching on bluray makes me realize how much shitty cgi and green screens are in this movie.

I've seen the movie 14 times in the movie theater. I've overlooked it time and time againlets see if you can overlook that fight on the train tracks
4 more mill and down goes the wizard...
yeah ...need 8th place cuz IW coming...Jedi dropping out top 10 ...lol
Yeah they did a lazy job but I guess they don’t want to go over budget especially when marvel did not think black panther would do the numbers it did. I pretty sure they were hoping to make enough to make back there production budget
I remember the Russo Brothers said a team of special effects CGI team cost about $290,000 per minute of film. So the cost adds up
2.7 bill is flat out ridiculousi think it will because of how fast it got to 453 .....
y`all do realize it might b at 600 by end of next weekend or close to it ...( after that it might begin to slow )
summer n the competition will hurt it but it wont hurt it enuff to stop 700 mill...
what i dont think it will do is catch avatar worldwide n not 937 mill domestic...
2.7 bill is just crazy ....china is the last major market ..so it needs to do another 1.6 bill ...negative...lol
i want to c what those monday numbers look like tomorrow...that will give us an idea of what the 4 day run this wk is gonna look like....
then add that to about a 40% drop over the weekend ...basically add another 120 mill to 450 right now...lol...by sun day it`s almost at 600 ...

2.7 bill is flat out ridiculous; I think Infinity will do around 1.8 to 2 bill; It will probably do like 250 mill in China alone; That would put it at 1.4 right now; And i think it will easily do another 400 mill total world wide....
Bad CGI in blockbusters usually has more to do with time than money. A lot of these visual effects companies are overworked, underpaid (if at all), and under constant pressure from the studios. As the technology improves, they can do more stuff which makes the studios want to cram even more visual effects into the movies. What happens that there isn't enough time to fix all the problems that arise. It's not like Ryan Coogler hired a bunch of VFX artists off craigslist and that's why the visuals looked weak in the Vibranium mine fight. For the most part, it's the same VFX companies working on all these big films.
You could probably make the argument that indie directors like Coogler, Matt Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) made rookie mistakes when handling VFX heavy blockbusters. Maybe they underestimated how long it would take to perfect some shots or had unrealistic expectations for others. It will be interesting to see how/if the visual effects improve in their respective sequels.
This is why Hulk wasn't in the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it opens at 200 mill in China, it will easily cross 2 bill...Some estimates have it opening at $200 million in China.
It's a rights issue.Read somewhere the reason they haven't made a hulk movie was because of the budget, which is why he gets a part in the movies but not his own.
