0fficial 2017-2018 NBA Postseason Thread....NBA Finals Cavs vs Warriors 0-4(dubs back 2 back champs)

Give Minnesota some respect. They don't get enough. A lot of people thought they would get swept. They should be up in this series. Sometimes playing at home will get you right.
I didn't think they would get swept....I actually thought this series would go 6 or 7.

I thought he played well for the Cavs but he got injured. When,he came back, the midget was the starter and he couldn't get on the court due to Wade being the backup.

Yup and they damn sho need a Drose/Wade type of player right now....
Crazy shit they had what the year needs now, but wasn't happy with it.
I think if Lue didn't start IT, they could've made that shit work.

I honestly think Lue is don't in Cleveland no matter what Lebron does.

Man what the fuck is OKC doin?

They won 13 straight games and won 18 of 19 games a little bit before the Christmas game with Warriors. At,that time Rose was still hurt but everything would worked out when he came back....

Like,I keep saying everything was fine until IT was the starter. I think the team would of still traded a player to fix the defense but overall everything was fine.

What make the whole situation even more fucked up I think the Cavs were a few games behind Boston for the #1 seed, while Toronto was a few games behind us at the time. When the Cavs went on that losing streak in late January and all of February,we basically had no chance of catching up. And,losing Love didn't help either.

Normally,I don't call for a black coach to lose his job but I think it's time for Lue to go. I don't see LeBron staying when free agency come.

I wouldn't say that. The Jazz were damn near the 3rd seed. They're pretty damn good.
Fam, you have PG, Westbrook and Melo you should still beat this Jazz team. This series magnifies if nothing else, PG may be a BIT overrated, and Westbrook is not a PG a team can win with. People pissed at KD, just watching this series validates him leaving OKC and moving on... :smh:

Man had it not been for those 2 key blocks late the series would have been tied 2-2 Embiid changes everything when he playes. He doesn't have to score 40 points to affect an outcome of a game.

I'm not denying that but y'all know damn well if he plays offense like this every game y'all gonna be hot. It's nothing against him I credit it to Whiteside. He played him well as you can hope.

I watched the game. It's more than one way to make an impact on the game. He's having a hard time with the mask so his shots are off.
I never s aid he didn't impact the game. I said he was bad offensively today and you implied he wasn't. His D was on point. That mask had nothing to do with it. I didn't hear about no problems with the mask last game.

Well then people think too highly of this OKC team then and not enough of this Jazz team. This isn't Nuggets Melo or NY Melo. PG has been ballin....just not when he needs to which is the 4th quarter. Russ been a SG pretending to be a PG since he entered the league. Yeah they're not winning with him at PG most likely.

This "Big 3" is only scary on paper.

Thats easy to say after the fact when they aren't playing well Bruh.
Russ has proven not to be a winning formula as a player but to speak negatively about the 3 of them collectively is after the fact fam. Nobody was talking like that when the season started. Its easy to say on paper, when they aren't playing well... ijs...

This Jazz team is over-achieving and the Thunder are under achieving in this series.

Russell Westbrook ‘Guarantees’ He’ll Stop Ricky Rubio After Jazz Guard’s Game 3 Explosion

Game 3—and its box score—belonged to Ricky Rubio, and Russell Westbrook wasn’t happy about it.

The Jazz defeated the Thunder 115-102 at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Saturday, taking a 2-1 series lead thanks to a rare triple double from Rubio. The Spanish guard, known for years as a pass-first distributor, recorded a game-high 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and became the first Jazz player since John Stockton in 2001 to post a playoff triple double.

After taking over the game with a succession of second-quarter baskets, Rubio later drained a buzzer-beating three to close the third quarter. Utah went on to build a 20-point lead in the final period and cruised to the victory.

Westbrook, meanwhile, was off all night, finishing with 14 points (on 5-17 shooting), 11 rebounds and nine assists. The 2017 MVP committed eight turnovers, posted a minus-25 in 37 minutes and failed to score a point or take a shot in the fourth quarter.

Afterward, Westbrook vowed that the point guard matchup would play out differently in Game 4 on Monday.

"He made some shots,” Westbrook said, when asked about Rubio’s big night. “Too comfortable. I'ma shut that s--- off next game though. Guarantee that."

Rubio’s explosion was a long time coming. The 2009 lottery pick never made the playoffs during his six-year tenure in Minnesota, and he suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2012. After being traded by the Timberwolves to the Jazz for a first-round pick last summer, he averaged a career-high 12.1 PPG, shot a career-best 35.2% from deep and dished out 5.3 APG to help lift the Jazz into the playoffs.

“I just changed my mentality and tried to be more aggressive,” Rubio said of his Game 3 scoring burst and his triple double. “I made some shots. I made a run. It helps a lot when you’re making shots. It felt great. … Having my name next to [Stockton’s] name is an honor. I don’t know what else to say. It’s huge. I have huge respect for him.”

Through three games, Utah has plenty to be pleased with in addition to Rubio’s breakout: rookie Donovan Mitchell hasn’t skipped a beat, Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors have played well together in big lineups and Oklahoma City’s stars—Westbrook and Paul George—have struggled to consistently dominate. In fact, the Thunder’s offensive efficiency currently ranks 13th among the 16 playoff teams.

Westbrook told reporters that there was “a lot of s--- going on with my body,” but declined to specify whether he was injured. George has also been receiving treatment for a hip injury.

I think the problem with the Thunder is Adams. They will have to move Adams. He does not fit with Melo, Westbrook and George.

They need a big who can space the floor and knocks down a few 3’s a game and a 2 guard who can be a 3 and D guy.

Currently the Thunder have poor spacing because essentially two positions on the court are not scoring threats with Adams and any of their two guards.

In my opinion they would be much better without Adams while playing a space and pace style

Halfway into the season, I would agree and say the Thunder SHOULD beat Utah but Jazz started balling out of nowhere and honestly looked like a much better team than OKC since damn near February. Nobody paid attention to them but I did because they were creeping their ass up the standings quiet as fuck.

Also I tried to remove my "bias" or "fandom" but here it goes.

I'm a Nuggets fan bruh and they smacked the Thunder this season winning the season series so I just was never impressed. They never looked scary to me. When Durant was with OKC, I would dread playing them. Never felt that way this season. Also, being a Nuggets fan I paid attention to the Jazz. All the way from them being starting like 19-28 or something all the way to them being a 3 seed entering the last month. People called me crazy because I said the Jazz could mess around and upset the Warriors if they met in the 1st round.(they were a 6 seed at the time). I might be crazy but the Jazz looked that damn good to me and they were beating good teams(Warriors were healthy and they handled them) so I started believing.

It wasn't far fetched to see the Jazz beating the Thunder when the playoffs started, basically due to how each team played. My point was, until the Thunder started under achieving, no one was saying they were overrated. Their performance dictates peoples impression, but ultimately, a team with PG, Melo and Russell shouldn't be losing to the Jazz.

Utah is playing more like a team, whereas a team with Westbrook dominating the ball is destined for stuff just like this, so on that note I feel you.

If the Thunder lose in the 1st round...

But then again, they havent been a good team all season long. Why should we have any expectations?

I keep seeing all these big names and keep imagining a good team.
