Marvel Greenlights Superhero Movie Following Success of Black Panther.

LOS ANGELES — Marvel Studios announced today that they would be cautiously greenlighting the offbeat superhero film as a result of the financial and critical success of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, and Black Panther, according to close sources.

“It’s always difficult to agree to finance a blockbuster film,” said President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige. “But we crunched the numbers and it looks like the last few projects like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Spider-Man Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok but especially Black Panther managed to do well enough in theaters for us to justify taking a chance and rebooting the character from the 80s movie and we are really excited about that.”

“We teased Howard a little at the end of Guardians, but we really wanted to bring him back for his own movie, and this time, make it not a giant piece of shit,” said Marvel CEO Mark Wymms. “He will not be CGI as he was in Guardians. That was just a tease, or a little taste. Actually, we’ve already begun shooting the movie, and we think fans will be super happy to know that we’re going hard R-rating.”

“It’s uncertain if this next project will also be a success but given the last 17 films we have made, it’s definitely possible,” he added. “We are not sure what the story will be yet, but we are looking forward to seeing that snarky wise-cracking duck fool the hell out of the guys at bgol !

i figured it was an april fools joke. fiege don't talk bout numbers and spifderman homecoming wasn't profit for them. they get input on the film but the deal let sony get the proceeds while marvel can use him in their films and not split profit with sony.

You got me.

I was like, "WTF! Out of all of the characters in the stable, they're thinking about bringing this bullsh*t character to the screen?"

It was good for what it was. But it has room to be 1000000000x's better
I still think they should keep the live action duck costume instead of cgi
:hypnotised: dude it has that much room for improvement that means it sucked... shit the average tyler perry flick could be 1000000000x's better:lol:

Not really. My improvements weren't to the story, just to the types of things they could visually show now thanks to technology as opposed to what they could work with back then
i didn't make it clear in my post. but i alluded to it with my live action duck costume and not cgi remark.
that's my fault.
hope that clears my sentiment up

i dunno homie...i saw it in theater and wasn't impressed all the way around...:dunno:

But on the real, an actual Howard the Duck movie could be solid. Would it be? Probably not. But they could make it work. My only beef is that I don't like the MCU design for him. It seems a little too... I dunno, "gritty"? Yes, the comics version would probably read too "goofy," but that fed into his strangeness.

Man....if Marvel can make a successful franchise with a talking, gun toting Raccoon marketable, surely they can do the same with a talking wisecracking Martial Arts practicing Duck.
