Any Recent Experience with Carnival Cruise Lines?

If you can do the Tom Joyner Cruise we're going for a second time it's real nice

I was gonna ask about that, a couple coworkers went a couple years ago and they said it was the best time they ever had. I was gonna check it out till I saw those fucking prices :eek2:

Worth it? I can't imagine the amount of shenanigans going on during that type of cruise. Joyner seems to put together one hell of a list of entertainers...except for Rock of course, every type of genre you could imagine from a lot of different eras. Every year I see that list and I'm just like DAMN

Celebrating our 20th anniversary next week on the Vista.

FYI Most cruise NO LONGER carry a local TV station.

Carnival used to broadcast the local Miami channels, but that ended this year for cost cutting reasons.

I know there is a lot to do on the ship but sometimes you have the idiot box on for background noise at least.

My solution to this is found in the video below that shows how to hook up your laptop or tablet to the ships TV.

I'd like to send my 70+ yr old parent on a cruise this summer 7-10 days. Perferably a safe , clean reputable cruiseliner. where they can tour several Caribean islands, do a lil shopping, sight seeing, etc..

Never been on one myself. where do I start? Deals? Insider info? Thanx

How... Youthful/active are your parents

Carnival isn't called the fun ship for nothing.

If they are more laid back and want something easy going you may want to look at princess cruise line or NCL.

Also remember hurricane season is from the end of July thru October.

Hurricane season is officially from June 1 till November 30.

If your people don't have mobility issues then any cruiseline is cool. All ships fully support wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

OK just wanted to post how I set up my western digital hard drive during my B2B on the Vista.

This is how it looks:

Just plugged my HDMI cable into the cabin TV and the WD

To access the TV’s menu there is a lil toggle/button underneath, Press this button once and wait a lil toggle screen will appear and just move the toggle/button to the connection pic and press the button again

At this point a drop down menu will come up on the side and you use the toggle/button to scroll down and select the HDMI port.

I used this to both play movies and music for down time.

Just an FYI this worked on the Vista on older ships you may have to remove the ether net cable to play from separate device

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. I might just stick to resorts for now. I'm headed to Sandals Mobay next month.
Newer ships have better WiFi options and we were able to send iMessages on Apple devices without having to have a WiFi package

Royal carribean has something called zoom at sea on its newer ships it was pretty fast

I’m sure it’s a nice cruise but the price is super inflated

Of course yaw don't care about that the main thing you want is how I sneak whole 5ths of alcohol on board.

Key is understanding how ships work. Most cruise ships have to load and scan 1,000's if not over 10k bags per cruise. Hell here is the bags people put out at the end of the cruise to be carried off

so what kind of scanners do the cruiselines use to scan all of that luggage?

NOT the kind TSA use at the airport. It is my understanding the system they use is color coded for quick Identification of items: ie cloths will scan blue, hardware (books tablets etc will scan green) and liquids will scan red (say your rum runners and bottles just laying there.)

I have 3 methods to avoid this detection 1st is I wrap my bottles in clothes or stuff between shoes. 2nd I align these with the poles or brackets of my luggage handles.

Now this 3rd method works for when you board and when you want to bring something back from port.

Chances are if I'm in port I am snorkeling and have my snorkel mask with me

well now its just a matter of

Now this could be in my travel backpack or a shopping bag. Key is if its flagged they ask you to step over to another table or section to go thru yo shit. I never do that I just grab my bag head towards the table than go to the elevator to my room. Or I take my snorkel out and give them the shopping bag (hey its just a snorkel nothing in there :)

Like I said its all about knowing how a ship works and the psychology of the people working there.

Another thing that helps IMO is how my wife packs. Shit looks perfect, if they were to open our case they gon be scared to death to fuck up her perfectly folded clothes. I wish I took a pic of the packed bags you would never guess there was something hidden in there.
No offense but you really didn’t do anything special those scanners are checking for things that could cause harm to the ship it’s crew and it’s guest like irons and other devices with hot plates.

I actually lose weight on cruises. I primarily use the stairs. I walk the ship going to many events. I walk the ports and then I walk during my excursions.

I wear a smartwatch and I usually avg 15k - 20K steps a day.

I wear a new pair of Skechers on each vacation.

I even eat better on a ship.

I am member of a few cruise groups. I always hear folks asking which cruise line is best or better.

No one can answer that for you. It is all about personal taste. I have been on Carnival 15+, NCL 4X and Royal Car 3x. I have stayed inside, oceanside and balcony.

Cruise lines have their own flavor. You have to go on each cruise line to see which one suits your taste. The biggest difference is actually based on the age of the ship and the size of the ship. The time of year and length of the cruise effects how the trip plays out.

Lastly, you personal preferences.

No need to be loyal to any cruise line. No need to be fanboys of any cruise line.

The Carnival Vista is better than the Royal Carib - Enchantment of the Seas everyday of the week regardless of destination or time of year.

The Norwegian Escape is better than the Majesty of the Seas or Carnival Paradise everyday of the week.

If you want to sail of a floating upscale Mall then Royal Carib is your shit.

I will sail on any of the Big 3 without hesitation and a big ass smile.

Heading to Cuba in September with Norwegian.

That’s how I feel...for the most part.

Only cruise I know I will never take again is one of those 3 day weekend cruises on either CCL or RCL...I did one on each and they absolutely both were “Walmart” cruises.

I’ve started to almost exclusively go on the larger/newer ships which tends to weed out the cheap cruise crowd...other than at some point doing a Cuban one. Are there any overnight Cuban cruises?

Indeed, the length of cruise and price filters out a lot of chaos and commotion.

Norwegian has a lot of overnights. Example - Mon 8 AM to Tues 6 AM or 10 Am - Midnight, I saw Noon Day 1 to 4 PM Day 2. I would not do a regular day like 8 AM to 5 PM. not enough time.

You can find overnights on all the cruise lines.

I’ve decided that cruising is not worth it to me. I’ll stick to land vacations and good all inclusive. That said, I’m heading to Cabo San Lucas in two weeks.

Cruising is a lot like staying at an all inclusive that travels from port to port, city to city.

I was in Cancun a few weeks ago. Flew in. On day 3 I was debating if it was better than a 7 day cruise.

I just was on a 4 day Carnival cruise to the Bahamas last week. Had fun and it was a gang of black people on that bitch.

Glad this topic came up. I've been searching for a cruise to take to celebrate in between career changes. I want to wind down before hitting the new gig. I heard that there is the possibility of catching last minute cruises. I want one that would let me hit at least two ports in Brazil and get me back to a Florida port with out having to fly back home. Any cruise line suggestions?

Bruh, you asking for too much.

I dont know of any cruise that goes from Florida to Brazil. You may be able to find cruises to Columbia. I doubt if you find a cruise leaving San Juan PR going to brazil.

Cruise ships travel at 25 mph so a round trip Miami to Brazil will take weeks.

You can search cruiselines by ports.

But if you willing to fly south to a port then Brazil is back in play.
