This is fucked up. The Pelicans are over .500, in 6th place and while there were still personnel issues that needed to be addressed, we were turning the corner.

Of the court the Pelicans were stringing together some sell outs and starting to make an issue out of developing an identity in New Orleans, this could have very serious consequences all over the place.

Lakers still going to offer him the moon while New Orleans can't afford to keep the lights on. This gives that broke franchise a reason not to pay him his market value and still keep their small fan base happy.

I doubt that.
Your key words "small fan base". Believe me, if the Pelicans low ball him and the Lakers offer him the moon, he's going to Los Angeles. Pelicans have to keep people interested, you know this, you're from Mobile, you know football is king on the Gulf Coast.

I'm sure the Pelicans marketing is scrambling trying to find a way to keep people interested in the rest of this year.

They can't afford to pay 3 big contracts(Boogie, Davis, Holiday) in that city. The fan base just isn't there to increase ticket prices to pay for such talent. As much as I love to see Boogie close to home, that franchise won't keep him.

We see Boogie every summer in the city giving back to the Mobile community even when he was in Sacramento. That won't change when he becomes a Laker.

He was linked to the Cavs too. They can't catch a break. The curse of @BAG strikes again... :smh:

:lol:The Pelicans already made it clear to him weeks ago he would not be traded and was going to get a nice extension, and the Cavs just caught a break if they did trade him to Cleveland with his Achilles being made of Jelly at the time the Cavs would of been a bottom feeder of the east like the 76ers because they would have given up Love and a top 5 draft pick for a player who's career might be in jeopardy.

NO NO NO!

IF THE CAVS PLAYED A 7 GAME SERIES RIGHT NOW WITH THE 76er WHO YOU GOT BE HONEST!!!!!!

:roflmao2:

On some real shit did you notice what the Sixers did to the Spurs? Noticed what the Spurs did to the Cavs? Y'all night beat us, but you gonna be sweating it out. Sixers on the rise Bag shits not funny anymore in South Philly. Simmons doin what he want out there.

Naw Philly not on my radar right now I know they got some good young talent and a potentially great big man if he can stay somewhat healthy, I just looked at the standings just to see what ya man was so excited about and I noticed they were 9.5 games in back of the Cavs.

Ticket prices have gone up each year since the Benson family took over ownership and since buying this team Tom Benson and his family have gone out of their way to try to make a connection with the city. The name change, even at temping to take the old name back from the Utah Jazz, firing Monty Williams after a play-off appearance and replacing him with Alvin Gentry because Gentry's style was more marketable, trading for Cousins when everybody else was afraid to. They are committed to at least attempting to make this work. Raising ticket prices to keep him here is not going to be an issue.

What will low balling him and letting him go to Los Angeles accomplish? A 30 win season, intensifying AD trade rumors, dwindling interest, low attendance and rumors of relocation?

Do you as the Pelicans do the unthinkable and trade Davis for a shitload of young prospects and picks to somebody like that Celtics or do you stay put and try to maintain the playoff aspirations?

I know how Cousins feel. Torn Achilles was misery for me:smh:. I opted not to get surgery and chose the casting method. It was 6 weeks in a cast hopping on crutches. Each visit I got a new cast with my foot at different angles as the tendon healed itself and reconnected. Then a walking boot for another month afterwards. I wish this injury on nobody. It hurts initially but after the intense brief sharp pain you don't even feel it anymore. Walking on it was impossible.
