Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

Not @ all.. I take profits and don’t look back...
real talk to hit that home run you will need to have at least 10-30 thousands coins on any given token...
wanchain, trinity and that porn coin are the ones I’m loading up on
I'm throwing a little something at trinity.

This was my second alt purchase ever. I only bought 100 lol. Damn! I was a newb barely getting my feet wet. Oh well. Still a nice gain. Bought in at $1.23

I bought in around that price, but I went in. It was a gamble at the point because their team seem too good to be true, but they have been delivering. Not selling for a while. My WTC bag may end up being larger than my NEO bag.

Fam,

What are the top 10 coins you're holding for the rest of the year? I am invested in the following:

  1. BTC
  2. BCC
  3. BTG
  4. LUN
  5. UKG
  6. STRAT
  7. NEM
  8. REQ
  9. IOTA
  10. ADA
  11. NEO
Is there any hot coin I am missing out on?

Yup....prime example

0.00001299 BTC(3410.81%)

Market Cap

6 BTC
Volume (24h)
$526 USD
0.04 BTC

Circulating Supply

Total Supply

Not a prime example. Yall gotta stop looking at these crazy percentage gains. They literally mean nothing. Look at the 24h trade volume. It literally took $526 of trading to cause a 3000% spike which tells you 1. Nobody is buying that shit except for on idiot 2. You won't be able to sell that shit for a profit if you did come up. Stop wasting time with these shitcoins.

To many new crypto's popping up now, after 4 year in the crypto game I'm out. My job announced last week we were getting into blockchain and i found out this morning I'm one of the people they are sending to training to help head this up. Crypto was good when there were few but it's starting to become like the tech and real estate bubble.

Kraken just sent me an email and said they are up

and running..

there is still a twelve hour wait for withdrawls because they are still monitoring their system....

and a min wait of forty eight hours for fiat and crypto deposits...

Yeah, I got the email too. I cant believe they were down for 2 days. I will admit the site seems to be running quicker and smoother but DAMN that was crazy. Free trading for the rest of the month.

So Kraken goes down for 2 days comes back and still has Withdrawal disabled. I'm tempted to just move it all out the second they let me.

Word on the street is Kraken about to go down forever. I need a new spot to buy XRP and alt coins. Diversify now fellows. I need a hardware wallet I guess.

You have to load up on 2 or 3 coins to hit that homerun

look at the ICOs that are coming out
I am looking for coins that I can get 100K of and hold for a year or two. I had 188K Verge and I sold early cause I had been holding to it for over six months without any gains.

Lesson learnt...

I'm sitting on 6 million Embercoins, but that project is about to go up in flames and change into another coin called Chartis. I'm hoping the exchange rate isn't terrible.

I'm looking for these ICOs. Any thing that can blow up in a year or 2, I'm there.

Speaking of ICO's where can one get the new stuff?

I am trading on Bitstamp, Bitrex and Binance...

Anything else out there?

Well I felt that example fitted nicely into the non expert discussion we was having.

Shitcoin or not that spike was amazing to me....

Now don't take me posting it, as me buying it or anything...

hmm I dont know why they dont have more coins but they would be stupid to go down this early in the game...

somebody should buy them include more of the popular coins and tokes and become competitive like binance and bittrex...

they making big fuckin money.... and kraken being early into the game should be adapting not falling apart...

mayne that would be some fucked up shit, if you start to see a coin you invested in make you some nice money...and wanted to cash out

but you couldnt get any buyers....

We need a CPA to come in here and break down the differences between short term and long term hold when it comes to taxes.. my tax bill will be low 5 figures :angry::angry:

If it's more than a year between transactions then it's long term. Remember at this point every transaction is a taxable event whether gain or loss. In most cases for crypto it will be short term unless you have transaction on a asset you haven't moved in a year. I would prepare for short term taxation to be on the safe side. Look at the 2018 marginal tax bracket and you can see how much you'll be tax overall.

Still HODL with my TRON. No reason to sell at this point when it's so cheap. No reason to panic. FUD everywhere. Those unrealistic gains we all had in December has everyone's mindset skewed. I'm relatively new to the game but I know not to freak out. That's exactly what the whales want you to do. Even if I did sell, I got in at 2 cent so I'd still profit.

If TRON was the only coin that was under performing, I'd be concerned... But damn near everything is tanking right now so I just sit back and ride the wave. I refuse to be one of those cats coming in here in September 2018 saying I shouldn't have sold my shit. Now best believe when we hit a new ATH I will be skimming some of my profits so I can return my initial investment. I believe in the project but I ain't no dummy!

I hear ya but that amazon, facebook, netflix type coin is still out there...

and not everybody failed during the tech bubble you know...

and real estate is still a good investment you just have to do your homework and dont just buy property off a picture or video you saw in print or on the web....

crypto currency isnt going anywhere, what is going somewhere is paper currency...

you are right there is a new coin coming out everyday, but its still fun tryin to find the gem in a pile of shit...

to me that is..

I made more money in crypto in six months than I made in stock for three to five years...

I am using Bitstamp to buy bitcoin (via my credit card)
I use bitrex.com and binance.com for trading

@RoomService and @aww-skeet-skeet put me on icodrops.com and icoshedule.com (I am still researching these two)
So what are the steps to buy some of the alt coins

So far I just opened a coinbase acct

1st timer

purchase some bitcoin, get an account with an exchange, binance or an exchange of your choice..

then to avoid fees transfer the bitcoin you purchased to gdax(which you already have access to since you signed up with coinbase) then tranfer it to your exchange.

make sure you are transfering bitcoin to a bitcoin wallet...

what you really should do tho, is invest some time and read from page one of this thread...

trust me it will be worth your effort...
