Despite Los Angeles already opening doors for LeBron James to walk in during free agency, another exciting prospect can be the young Philadelphia 76ers, as president Bryan Colangelo is expected by executives around the league to take his best shot at netting his services, according to Jeff Zillgitt of USA TODAY Sports.

Many have raved about the infinite opportunities that come with him finishing his prime with the Lakers, but if it’s rings that he’s chasing, Philly might have the most ready product to make him a mere plug-and-play.

For the first time in his NBA career, James would play alongside a dominant big man — one capable to terrorize the opposition in ways similar to what he has over the span of his last 15 years in the league.

Even first-year Sixers like J.J. Redick have started paving the road for a potential pitch, as he recently gave some hefty praise for The King prior to facing the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.

“LeBron, I think, is the greatest player to ever play,” Redick said.

While some moves would have to be made, James can join a cast including Embiid, Robert Covington, Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and rookie Markelle Fultz.

Chances are that James would want to keep a deadeye shooter like Redick on the roster, giving him a Kyle Korver-like presence at the three-point line for his various drive-and-kick opportunities.

James had remained noncommittal of any free-agency talks, and hasn’t signed an extension with the Cavaliers this summer, playing the same wait-and-see game he’s become known for throughout his entire career.

“Anytime I’m able to be a free agent or my contract is ending, I’ll approach that when the summer comes,” said James.

While James has been known as a true businessman with the handling of his brand, his charities, and his overall image — he’s also chasing every bit of championship glory he can get his hands on, as he’s set to turn 33 in roughly a month.

The Sixers present the most win-now package of the two destinations and one that has proved to mesh better than fellow star Paul George has managed with his new team.

The choice will be his to make at the end of the season, but the Lakers won’t just walk away with a money toss without Colangelo darting his own at this transcendent talent.

All three of the stars on that team are iso players. Russ needs to adjust his game which I don't think he can do because he has too much of a killer mentality to score.

Carmelo Anthony says it’s too early for the Thunder to panic

November 29, 2017
Another day, another disappointing loss for the Oklahoma City Thunder. This time it came at the hands of an Orlando Magic team that had lost nine straight coming into the matchup.

With the Thunder now in the midst of a three-game losing streak, there is speculation that the panic has started to set in. However, superstar Carmelo Anthony is still not ready to sound the alarm just yet, according to Erik Horne of The Oklahoman

“There is no need to, I don’t want to say panic, but it is too early for that … this is a new situation for all of us. It is a new process and journey for all of us so we are going to have moments like that.”

It was not a great shooting night for the newly-acquired member of the Thunder as he finished with 16 points on 5-of-16 shooting and seven rebounds. Meanwhile, fellow superstars Russell Westbrook and Paul George finished with a combined 59 points on 18-of-40 shooting from the field.

Although Oklahoma City would understandably like to get those shooting percentages up, the defense continues to plague them at the most crucial times. Despite the Thunder currently owning the third-best defensive rating in the league (100.2), it has been to no avail during crunch time when they need it most.

Aside from their recent struggles, it is encouraging to see the key members still being patient with the process. It is that kind of patience that George had already preached last week when the Thunder were trending down in the Western Conference.

That's why I feel if (when) Melo gets to Houston he won't play like that.

But honestly, imma need Melo to take a pay cut or accept a lesser role in the scheme of things if he does make his way to red nation.

We were 12-1 in the month of November, and 6-0 with Harden and Paul playing together.

We don't need Melo. And I wouldn't give up SHIT to get him.

When are people going ti realize that at the end of the day Melo is a loser... A talented loser, but ultimately, hes a loser... :smh:

You get Melo playing Olympic ball and you got a key component to a championship team.

I don't think there's any accountability on that Oklahoma team. Russ isn't a leader even though it's his team, and PG13 just got a extended layover in OKC on his way to lala land. Who gonna check Melo and get him in line? In Houston I know D'antoni not gonna do it but Chris Paul will.

Somebody was saying the dubs was worried more about Houston that OKC and that was before Melo went to OKC.
