Kaepernick is GQ's citizen of the year and cover story

Nah, I guess you missed the part where I said ok lets call it all true. That still aint jim crow.

But let's get to where we agree. It aint good when kneegrows be out here convincing others not to vote.

But guess who was using his platform to.say that very thing ?

Mr citizen of the year

So look, I know people do contradictory things. I do too.

Absolutely he was wrong, IMO. No one is perfect though. There were other prominent black folks encouraging ppl not to vote or to vote third party who practically shit their pants after Trump got elected. And they are still out there talking trash as though they were not part of the problem.

Lol what else are you doing? What is the point of doing this at the game and then wondering why "theyre changing the narrative" ? Why is that every time you get a white pundit on TV that says he supports Kaep you're all happy? Eminem raps about it you jump for joy? Magazine cover? Oh my god, they do love us!! Kaep dont got a job? Cool, fuck em. Yet EVERY WEEK, If some.QB gets hurt there's discussion. About how he can fill the position.

That's you. Not me. I'm not protecting white people, i don't give a fuck about them and don't need them to "understand". i don't even watch football and I crack up watching yall fake protest, but somehow know every teams record still lol. Foh

Oooooooh I see too now!! You need white people to fix it for you. You should've said it in the beginning "EK, if white people don't validate me, I don't know what we is gone do!" I wouldve understood. See how easy that is? Just make up a position.
You're not slick, you're attempting to play both sides and it's obvious to see what you're doing. You criticize Kaepernick and want him to do nothing, you don't want him to speak for many in the Black community to use his platform to address issues such as unequal treatment under the law and police brutality. I know you. You would have been the one to criticize those boycotting the Montgomery Bus Boycott, you would have been on front lines degrading Dr. Martin Luther King while doing absolutely nothing; you would criticized those freedom riders crisscrossing the South; you would harsh criticized those attempting to desegregate "whites only" lunch counters, still all while doing nothing. So, today you suggest the football players do NOTHING; you only want them to protect the feelings of white people: I SEE YOU, exiledking.

It appears as though the Kaepernick cover did what GQ wanted it to do, create controversy. However, only the same people will argue about these non-starter issues.

Some of us will not bend on these racial and societal injustices and know that history will demonstrate that we were correct the whole time.

Others will continue to deceive themselves for money, ego, or past transgressions.

:please: Somebody tell that brotha to run for congress as a democrat from California, in this GOP lashback climate and with his popularity he's almost a shoo in for a seat.

That was a cool speech and I hope you got your rocks off and I hope you feel like you're so cool and Black while you compare football game shit to the montgomery bus boycott lol

People like you with a surface view of history would think that. To think that you think your Twitter rants and hashtags makes you the same as a freedom rideR:roflmao2:

You're comparing even the symbolic picture events of THAT time even to the real shit at the time.

Even Tommy and Johm Carlos weren't so stupid as to think that. among the things they were raising their fist for, one was poverty in black neighborhoods. How did that work out? and nevermind that they went on with their track careers and even pro football careers after that. You got em frozen in time in your head.

You still don't seem to know what the athletes that supported Ali REALLY wanted that Ali didn't agree and that they didn't agree with him either.

But you care more about the PICTURES than what was really done. cool.

It will do what GQ wants it to do this week... Sell magazines and at the very least , make them the talk, as they have been many times before.

Now what it's gonna do for Black people? Nada

I didn't compare football protest directly to the Montgomery Bus Boycott, I'm comparing your Do-Nothing Mindset to those who would have disagreed with the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Reading Comprehension is important. & I continued to mention that you would have disagreed with the Freedom Riders, also. Why? Because you have a Do-Nothing mindset, you want to dissuade Black folks from action against racism all while offering no solutions of your own, your only job is to muffle dissent hence protecting white feelings. Again, you're not slick, I see the game you're playing.

& then, you laugh at John Carlos and Tommie Smith, mocking their stance. They weren't raising their fist for "poverty in the Black neighborhoods." This is what John Carlos said directly from his 2011 memoir written by Dave Zirin "“I looked at my feet in my high socks and thought about all the black poverty I’d seen from Harlem to East Texas. I fingered my beads and thought about the pictures I’d seen of the ‘strange fruit’ swinging from the poplar trees of the South." exciledking, get your facts straight!

Oh, & your comment about Ali makes no sense, re-word it.

In sum, you tried to twist what I said and it didn't work. Try again, though. meh.

They don' know history...

Tommy Smith was drafted before the pic of the famous black fists and John Carlos was drafted afterwards..both signed Carlos with Philly and Smith with Cincinnati ..it has always been more to it than just pics but many can't think beyond it.

The gatekeepers are right in front of us and we think just because they share our same skin color they wouldn't sell us out.

They don' want to talk about how Ali done Frazier in front of our own people. After everything was completed and soul contracts fulfilled we seen Ali doing celebrity matches, coming on tv clowning with the very people he looked like was fighting against

Whoa. Lol I wasn't even gonna go there with it bro. I was trying to be nice believe it or not Lol. Wow you're about to really go there

Ali literally called Joe Farzier a gorilla and used it in the same way white people would AFTER Frazier loaned him money and helped him get his license back.

This couture activism IS do nothing my friend.

And you DID speak this bullshit in the same sentence as the Montgomery boycott. You did that. Anyone who would is the do nothing person.

But again, I appreciate the things that Colin IS doing, with his organizations. He was doing that before he ever knelt.

The truth makes those who are part of the game get upset and find every way to cover it up.

Many on here part of the game and dont even have a clue they are being used with no benefits

I could go on and on about many more but they wouldn' believe it. They will search google and look up made up stories and pics to prove I'm wrong...

Your words ring hollow, you're only interested in twisting what I say. I've already explained to you why I mentioned the Montgomery Bus Boycott, this shows me you're only interested in your right wing talking points. That's it.

& the "couture activism" comment further degrades what Kaepernick is doing, his activism is real and it's affecting people personally and collectively across the nation. Open your eyes and do some reading.

Again, your information is wrong, Kaepernick started the "Know Your Rights Camp" last year during his protests NOT before his protest.

Evidence: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entr...anther-youth-camp_us_5818b31ee4b0390e69d2935f

Wrong again, try again. meh.

I agree. And with that, I'm gonna get to work for the day lol.

Lol btw you know who else was against the boycotts and the marches on Washington?

Malcolm X. All anti integrationists at that time. So where does that fit?

But my parents DID sit ins. My grandparents didn't agree with that either.

There's always gonna be a variation of thought on issues. Relax yourself

Well I grew up in Georgia and I shit you not, the only racial fights I remember were at the Battle of the bands one year when Black people beat the shit out of white people. It started with a racial fight. Maybe someone was called a nigga I dunno but there' weren't enough of them. Even the "cool" white boy at our school caught it lol.

And another one when we left the movie "do the right thing". I might have been gotten involved in that one lol. Just random CAC ass kickin. It was wrong but I didn't know better then. I'm glad we didn't get caught.

But I also saw the Klan.handing out stuff and hozea Williams getting beat on on the news when they went to get housing in Forsythe county- which was what hazard county from dukes of hazard was based on- and is now predominately Black. So I'm not clueless to it.

But I think calling shit Jim Crow is silly. Make up a new name. Stop pretending you live under what they lived under. It's not the same.

Now you're arguing degrees. There is a difference between having laws and rights on paper vs in practice.

It is the law that black people cannot be discriminated against for housing. In practice it is still happening.

Are we being told to our face that there are "no coloureds allowed?" No of course not, but it has the same effect of keeping black folks out of certain areas. And it's not just a matter of racially dividing an areas. Often the houses are of better/different quality. City services can be better. Black and poor areas are known to be used as placement for environmentally hazardous businesses etc that affect long term health and quality of life.

Just because the open hostility etc is no longer expressed, (Before Trump was elected anyway)and the discrimination is no longer codified in law, the net affect of what they were trying to achieve via law still gets done.

How dare you bring up Malcolm X and you harbor a Do Nothing Mindset, Malcolm X was about Action and you're Not. Even with Malcolm X if you would have lived during his time you would have criticized him and did nothing. I see you throwing up Red Herrings like Malcolm X, it's all to distraction from me debunking your main points; now you are left talking about your parents.

I've been arguing degrees the whole time. I think that's a good understanding we can close out at.
Jim.Crow was codified law. That's the difference in degrees. So I don't disagree with you on anything but terms that we use. But that's really not a big deal. We can both want to fight against those things and use different words for em.

Lol no matter how many DOs I bring up you wanna keep talking about do nothing

And it was YOU who KEPT talking about people criticizing boycotts and sit ins - and equating that to doing nothing.

Now you see where that got you.

Just stop. You can't pigeon hole someone who doesnt agree with you into meaning do nothing. You can try but now you see how stupid you sound.

You stop it. Again....trying to twist my words. I said "YOU would do NOTHING in any era of Black People attempting to fight injustice" ...because you have a Do-Nothing mindset; you only want to appease the feelings of white people.

Now twist that.

Listen to yourself.

You're making some assertion about me, and I'm saying his youre wrong. That's not twisting your words.

You're also giving examples of one histiric figure and basically anyone who didn't think that ONE way was the only way was wrong. Well that's also wrong. I'm not twisting anything. That's your premise. Youre the one who planted your flag there.

But we can just stick to your the names you brought up. Funny how you Mention Ali and MLK in the same sentence. Ali joined the nation , which was critical of MLKs movements.

My premise? What are you talking about? What you're saying makes no sense, a bunch of babble. My premise is that you're wrong about Kaepernick, see what I have previously written, and I've sat here and debunked everyone of your assertions. & once I debunked them all, you're attempting to present Red Herrings to change the subject and I'm not falling for it.

I get it , you buy this whole scheme.

Of course I'm talking about a photoshoot. The WHOLE thing is a long drawn out photoshoot.

Funny how y'all rail against white supremacy til a white magazine decides to gloss it up for ya. Again, just stay tuned. Nothing new here. Nothing different.

Exiled with the FIRE takes. This is just ANOTHER example of craving acceptance and acknowledgement from the same CACs yall swear are the problem. No one would give a shit if he was awarded "citizen of the year" from TV One.

Ok. Then why do you keep talking? Shit man, just let it go. Red herrings , change the subject, obviously you think I'm stupid. Just drop it. At some point in time when you see whatever it is you think will be achieved , just make an "I told you so" thread and I'll eat my hat. Jesus.

Holy shit you're right lol. If TVONE gave him this , there wouldnt be a PEEP. Shit, for all we know, they may have given him an award already. Or person tells me it aint about them. , Then another person tells me , since it's such a. Major magazine , maybe it will touch the hearts of service of them. They wanna argue with me and not each other.

SMH. We could have done that several replies back. My initial comment on the subject was that it was still here, just more refined. So I said from the beginning it was more subtle.
