I'll watch the prequels just to see Darth Maul. I agree, Lucas was resting on his laurels. But to me, Disney's versions just aren't cutting it. I hope they get better though. Until then, "Make Mine Marvel."
I like the prequels since he tried something new.
TFA was a rehash and outside of that last Vader scene, Rogue One was pretty forgettable.

This movie is going to be like something we have never seen before, I can just feel it!!!
going to see it, but I have a feeling it's gonna be an updated Empire Strikes Back. Just like the Force Awakens was a remake of A New Hope.
Let's see:
- Battle on Hoth-like planet with AT-ATs and AT-STs against the rebellio .... uh .. resistance
- A young Force Sensitive person being trained by the last living Jedi
All we need now is a Cloud Planet and Asteroids.
See this is the reason why I hate Lucas sold it to Disney, instead of continuing from the years of stories they could use they are just redoing the original trilogy. It's like they are trying to erase the work that Lucas had done after Return of the Jedi. To me Lucas's prequel trilogy is way better than what we saw in the Force Awakens. The next Star Wars movie after this one is gonna be just like Return of the Jedi, Disney is playing this too safe. The books and stories that they call legends had way better characters than what we saw in the last movie.
The reason why they made all the Expanded Universe/Legends stuff non-canon is because,according to Disney,it was "too complicated"
though that didnt stop them from incorporating Admiral Thrawn into SW Rebels

That shit wasn't complicated, they wanted to distance them self from Lucas. I bet we could pick a novel or comic arc and that story would be better than the Force Awakens.
... been saying this for awhile. The Prequel trilogy at the very least was it's own trilogy regardless of flaws.
