Okafor lack of defense is a failure on the organization to recognize that before they drafted him.. but sure they knew that aspect and still took him anyway
It really isn't. He was the best pick at that time. It's real easy to me a Monday morning quarterback Bruh, but go back to that draft and tell me a better pick at that time. Whiteside is one player and his track record of hard work to finally get to the point he was has nothing to do with the Heat as an organization, if it did, there would be other players they developed into superstars.
For every Whiteside in Miami you have a Winslow, who a regressed badly since his rookie year. Or what about Johnson, same thing....
Whiteside became who he is because HE wanted it, there wa no magic formula plan or solution the Hear came up with to magically turn him into a star Bruh. Also, comparing him to the #3 pick in the draft is ludicrious.
I see a WHOLE lot more of Okafor than any of you guys so while it's easy to speak to things on the outside looking in with a broad brush, you really don't have any true context of his situation, attitude or performance.
Monroe is on the bench partially because he’s not a good defender but also because of Giannis. Greg Monroe is only and issue to a defense 15 feet and in. He’s just in Giannis way on the offensive end in half court sets.
I think Okafor will be ok once he’s traded. Some coaches want a traditional big man that can cause a defense to sag in the paint. I think analytics will kill his career if he lets them. Haven’t seen much of him playing but him and Towns are the same defensively lol.

Yea.. moms passing has nothing to do with it. Just a bad organzation that didnt develop him or put him in an environment conducive to learning or being a professional. No, not at all what I said or my words, but it has everything to do with the way he internalized losses and criticism. Read incorrectly all you want into my words, but what's happened with his failure in Philly largely deals with the fact that most people (let alone pro athletes) have trouble with dealing with failure after experiencing nothing but success their whole careers. Now, attach the emotional baggage he has with the passing of his mom and him being extremely introverted.
Couple that with the fact that with his immaturity and youth and yes, you have a problem that the organization should have managed better.
It's same with thinking that a two to three-day course of financial management will make a pro athlete 17- 22 yr old kid a successful financial planner. Shit is doomed to fail from the beginning...
