JON JONES Tests Positive for Steroids after UFC 214 STRIPPED OF TITLE

In this day and age anything is possible lol.

I don't mind Nate getting that money, but Conor won't beat him again.

Actually, nah I don't see that happening because Conor is kinda exposed if ya ask me.

He ain't never gonna have no cardio and I think the others see just how much of his game is really all that mental shit. They used to all fall for it and still try to test his left. Now they will all just about it til he gasses, then whoop his ass. This combined with the lack of passoon he will have with all that money? I see Nate doing that, Tony doing that, Khabib doing that, and Kevin Lee doing that.

I really don't see any more victories in the ufc for dude. He should lose to Nate , then go the Ronda route. Take the money and run.

It's definitely going to be interesting to see how he plays his cards. Nate's waiting on him so he can collect multiple millions for their next fight. Conor was smart to slow him down with all the leg kicks in the 2nd fight, but damn ... when he tired a few rounds in (Conor) ... those final few rounds were interesting given all the damage incurred by both.

Holy shit how did I forget to me too my baby Joanna?

The fight with her and Rose coming up is gonna be major. I see her winning in brutal fashion BUT, Rose does have an X factor that could prove wrong. Her training with Valentina could bring something new to her game that could maybe finally get JJ to the ground. From there, she can finish my girl.

Yes - should be interesting to see how Rose's speed and athleticism matches up with Joanna's technical precision & toughness. Rose has a good base too training with her coach Trevor Whitman (spelling?), fiance Pat Barry, and others like the aforementioned Justin Gaethje & Valentina S', etc. Hopefully Valentina is teaching her some trips and techniques that she can incorporate, having already faced her years back. Stuff that she needs to watch out for, etc.

Ex' - just thought of something. Say Conor returns with the immediate trilogy with Diaz in late-2017 or early-2018. Diaz pulls off the big win and is up 2-1 in the trilogy. Does Conor say fuck it and go for ANOTHER fight with him? Trying to even things up at 2-2 and then move on to other fighters, or retire? Or does he say fuck it (at 2-2) and fight him for a 5th time ... knowing full well each time they fight it draws considerably more than other opponents?

The first 2 fights at 170 ... the 3rd and 4th fights at 155? Don't know if they'd make the 5th fight.

Just something to think about.

In your example how decisive is the win? I don't see McGregor beating Diaz unless it's an early knockout or the weight cut to 155 drains him. He just scraped by in the last fight by running laps in the octagon.

I feel that a win for either fighter would either be by TKO or decision. The weight cuts are a challenge for Conor at 145 and 155. He didn't put his body through as much stress for the 170lb fights with Nate (weighed in around 167/168), but his body was probably taking time to get accustomed to that as he had fought all his previous UFC fights at 145 ... and the Eddie Alvarez fight (at 155lbs) came in November of last year (after the March and August fights with Nate).

I would like to see Nate pull off the trilogy win ... as I wouldn't mind seeing a 4th fight.

Looking at a couple MMA vids Conor was called out for fighting smaller opponents. I remember Nate said his power wasn't anything he hasn't dealt with before at 170.

Also I've seen videos where his conditioning was called out because he does no roadwork. He had a torn ACL in the past.

Like you said I think there's a blueprint on him now so he needs to adapt. It doesn't matter when he fights Nate he's gonna lose, and once his usefulness to Dana is over he gets scrapped. I say get all the money you can for Diaz for December. If not push for Paulie in March. He has the leverage in negotiations.

Agreed. Have seen a bit of road work on a previous Embedded episode or two in the past, but he's primarily doing his cardio via bike work & rowing. Should probably focus his attention more on cardio (helping keep his weight down for less drastic weight cuts) and not so much on the flashy shit which he already has in his back pocket.

In a perfect world ... I'd like to see Nate check a few leg kicks (which really did him in with his Dos Anjos and Henderson fights) ... and just throw caution to the wind and throw heat at Conor while walking him down ... hurt him on the feet, and sub him on the ground (like the win in the 1st fight). Have Conor panic again and lunge for the single- or double-leg takedown to avoid getting pieced up further.

Side note ... is his brother Nick ever gonna return, or is he essentially retired at this point?

I have heard nothing about his brother in months.

This is what Diaz and McGregor need to do: get on a conference call with Dana and tell him this 3rd fight is the MMA version of Ali/Frasier and can generate big money and they deserve to be compensated. Conor can threaten to walk away at his highest point of popularity and he has "fuck you" money so he has no reason to get back in the octagon again for pennies.

This is what all promoters hate. When the fighters have the say. Dana is gonna have problems pimping McGregor now.

I have to find that video where they said Floyd fucked up the game by getting Conor that fight.

Believe the latest update on Nick was he had that whereabouts violation under the USADA program in recent months. Hadn't updated them on his location, and that counts as a miss/strike against. It would be good to see him return and take some money fights of his own, and get himself on some big cards (and ask for a PPV cut).

Good point about a potential conference call with Nate, McG, and Angry Red Egg. Promote the fuck out of a 3rd fight ... reiterating the money/excitement already generated from the first 2 fights, and coming off the major return from May-Mac last weekend.

Thanks in advance for looking for that Floyd clip.
.

Tricky thing too is that Nate's noted he wants $20M guaranteed (plus a PPV cut) for the trilogy fight.

Meanwhile they got 3 and 2 million guaranteed respectively for the 2nd fight, plus the large incentive bonus coming from the additional millions made from the PPV buyrate.

It would be interesting being a fly on the wall looking over contractual issues and bonuses/incentives for real. See how the increments work after 250k buys, 500, 750, 1 million, 1.25, 1.50+ plus ...

This goes back to why I said Dana not wanting MMA to fuck with boxing. He gets the lion's share of everything from the fight itself to endorsements. How come you don't see Conor (or anyone else for that matter) doing commercials for things not associated with UFC?

This is the closest Conor will have to negotiating power under his current contract so he'd better take advantage of it.

Dana will replace him if he gets the chance:

Miss the days when fighters were able to have their own sponsors & their fight banners in the cage. Promote their gyms/teams and all the unique walk-out shirts & shorts. Fighters had a chance to be even more marketable & individualized.

Whereas now we get Reebok clones ... and for a few specific athletes individual Reebok / Monster Energy side sponsorships.

yeah man, he let too many white dudes around him, and someone either spiked him, or even worse told him he could beat the test :smh:

yeah the sports needs to ban him, simple as that. he had TWO shots and he could of really hurt a great athlete in Cormier.

yea there has to be a mole in his camp.... someone snitched on him so they knew what drug to look for...

oh well...

I just think it sucks because you can look at most ufc fighters and tell they are on something...

He's just a dumb ass. Period. We shouldn't cop pleas for him. Great fighter, but just dumb as shit. If anything, folks in the camp want to see fighters come up.

The fucked part is a cat who is avoiding heavyweight while juicing(remember those videos a few years back). Cat is tall and long as fuck and his camp kept him away for the monsters up there for a reason. So he was basically trying to be strong as fuck while artificially keeping his weight down. That's foul as fuck giving his height and length.

Either you have punching power or you don't for the most part, but strength sure as fuck can help you stuff takedowns, in the clinch, and just grappling in general.

oh he is to blame fo sho,

but its your team that chooses what you put in your body....

and his fuckin team sucked....

but

cliche warning..

at the end of the day... he has to look in the mirror and deal with the choices he made...

it just sucks because all his fights were fun to watch...

not ONE boring one...

not many fighters could pull that off..

Team doesn't choose; You do. They might have had him on something, but then some other fighter/trainer/whoever gets in his ear. Happens too much.

Cormier will be turning 39yo in March. How many more years of active competition does he have left?

Does he rematch with Gustafsson at some point? Does he face Johnson (upon possible return) for a 3rd time?

He's already beaten Gus' once, and Anthony Johnson twice.

Does he face Volkan at some point? Fam' is still young in the game and will be 28 next week ...

Jon Jones License Revoked Over Positive Steroids Test

Breaking News

2/27/2018 1:13 PM PST

Jon Jones is officially BANNED from fighting in California ... at least for now ... after the California Athletic Commission revoked his fight license over a positive steroids test at UFC 214.

Jones is eligible to apply for reinstatement in August 2018 -- one year retroactive from his failed drug test.

Jones was also hit with a $205,000 fine -- 40% of his fight purse from the Daniel Cormier fight -- the largest fine the C.A.C. could levy.

The punishment was handed out after a terrible hearing for Jones -- who was grilled like a cheeseburger over the steroid test and other screw-ups in his life.

But, the worst moment for Jones undoubtedly came when he admitted he never completed USADA's anti-doping tutorials in 2015 ... despite the fact he signed paperwork saying he did.

Jon later said his management team took the tutorials for him and forged his signature.

As for the steroid test ... Jon testified that he had no idea how the the anabolic steroid Turinabol got into his system. Jones insisted he never knowingly took the substance and suggested it may have been planted in his workout supplements by an enemy.

"I have no clue how this happened," Jones told the panel. "My luck has been terrible when it comes to USADA."

And the worst could still be yet to come for Jones ... who will meet with USADA later this year.

The agency could suspend Jones up to 4 years because this is the 2nd time he's failed a steroid test under their watch. Plus, they ain't gonna be happy about the tutorial situation.
