They dropping more Turtle Beaches. :dunno: . I guess this can work well with the gamer chair. I don't see this competing with say a floor standing and a center channel as far as sound.

PUBG breaks 10 million copies sold

That’s 2 million copies in the last two weeks

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has sold more than 10 million copies. Creator Brendan “Playerunknown” Greene took to Twitter this morning to make the announcement.

“Never did I think we would reach such a number!” he said. “Thank you all for your continuing support of the @PUBATTLEGROUNDS team.”

Battlegrounds launched on Steam’s Early Access program on March 23. Supported by a cavalcade of interest from streamers, the game immediately lodged itself as one of the top five most-watched games on Twitch. Sales took off, clearing one million units in 16 days and two million in under a month.

Going into Gamescom late last month, the title had sold more than 8 million copies. A little back-of-the-napkin math tells us that Battlegrounds has sold roughly two million copies in the past two weeks.

To put that in perspective just a bit, let’s compare these numbers to Minecraft. According to data from Mojang and aggregated by Gamasutra, it took that open-world building game about two years to clear 10 million sold. That means that this chart, created by GameKult’s Oscar Lemaire, can’t be too far off.

A few other waypoints along the game’s meteoric rise: Battlegrounds overtook Grand Theft Auto 5 for the most concurrent players on Steam in mid-July and Valve’s juggernaut Dota 2last week, kicking Dota out of the top slot for the first time in more than three years.

Battlegrounds’ success on Steam has translated into mainstream notoriety for Greene and developer Bluehole. They’ve been written up in GQ magazine and recently inked a deal to bring exclusive video content to Facebook. The game’s recent Gamescom Invitational tournament had well over 100,000 viewers on Twitch and reportedly more than 5 million viewers in China.

As the game’s audience has grown, so has the game’s design goals. A first person-only mode was recently added, and there are two new maps in the works as well as a 3D replay system and new mechanics for vaulting and climbing. The game was expected to exit Early Access sometime next month, but has been delayed into the fourth quarter.

If you loved Sonic back in the day, get this game.

I think it pays correct homage to Sonic when he was a true video game icon, the graphics do good in recreating and refreshing classic stages while the new stages retain the feel of the era while mixing speed and exploration, small touches such as the use of neon colors, which are accurate to the early 90s time period are a nice touch also. The soundtrack remixes classic songs and adds new music but retains the early 90s New Jack Swing influence.

It's almost like what if Sega made a Sonic game in 1993 that had the power of the 32x for graphics and the audio capabilities of the Sega CD for audio and FMV, if your from that era..

Microsoft To Share Rare’s Sea of Thieves Water Tech with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

battlegrounds_swamp-740x416.jpg

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continues to make the news almost on a daily basis. The game developed by Bluehole recently surpassed the astounding number of 10 million copies sold in about five months since the debut on Steam Early Access.

Moreover, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds even managed to beat League of Legends when it comes to Twitch views last month, which is quite the feat.

Still, these are early days for the game which is also coming out on Xbox One via Game Preview later this year, thanks to a publishing deal with Microsoft. In an interview posted by GamesIndustry with the titular Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene, he highlighted an interesting tidbit: Rare’s Sea of Thieves water tech will be implemented in Battlegrounds at some point in the future.

There are games like Destiny that really get auto-aim and controllers in an FPS feeling good. And I think that with Microsoft’s help it’s really going to get it feeling like a good shooter on console. We want to give the same experience. We want to PC and Xbox to be identical in terms of the experience you have playing the game.

And another thing is, I was at the Microsoft event last night talking to the Sea of Thieves guys. They said they loved the game, they play it a lot, but, ‘Oh, you’re water.’ I mean, our water is not very good, but Rare has great water tech. They said, ‘We should share some knowledge.’ That’s a great thing about being part of a network of studios. We can get that water tech, essentially for free, and we can share stuff with them. That’s just invaluable, because their water is great. Having that would really finish off our world nicely.

That’s definitely great news. If you’ve played Sea of Thieves or even just looked at gameplay videos, you will know that Rare’s water rendering technology is possibly the best one in the gaming industry at the moment.

Also, in a funny twist, Microsoft will indirectly help improve a game that’s eventually going to end up on Sony’s rival PlayStation 4 console.

Apparently, if you sell your xbox one on eBay, Sony gives you a $50 eBay coupon towards the purchase of any PS4 lol

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris DLC details leaked by Xbox Store

Bungie has yet to officially announce Destiny 2's first DLC, but details of it are already visible on Microsoft's Xbox Store.

Destiny 2 - Expansion 1: Curse of Osiris will include new story missions and adventures set on the sun-soaked planet of Mercury - specifically, its "Infinite Forest" region.

There will of course be new armour and weapons, new multiplayer maps and "new co-operative activities" which likely means Strikes.

No mention is made of a new raid.

After years of teasing his existance in the original Destiny, it sounds like this DLC will finally introduce the legendary Osiris, who once upon a time taught Vanguard Warlock leader Ikora Rey.

Mercury was only available to visit in Destiny 1 via a couple of multiplayer maps, and via the Trials of Osiris challenge's elite Lighthouse social space (which was very hard to get into, but which I managed just before it disappeared for good).

A previous Kotaku report on the DLC stated that it would include a new patrol zone and the Lighthouse as its new social space, while its story would revolve around saving Osiris from the Vex. And a recent Wired Q&A video, Destiny 2 director Luke Smith suggested the Vex's ongoing machinations - while not directly related to the game's main Red War campaign - were indeed part of the game's future.

We've long know the DLC would involve Osiris somehow - since an image for the game's expansion pass first revealed Osiris' symbol as the logo for DLC #1. Destiny 2's second DLC features the symbol of the Warmind planetary defense network, and its rogue Earth AI Rasputin.

My son is a Sonic fanatic. We have damn near all the 2D Sonic games (and some of the 3d ones as well) but he never finishes them. Smh, we got Lego Dimensions for XBOX One because he wanted the Sonic pack. That punk hasn't finished Sonic Generations on PS3 I bought a while back...

Thought about getting Mania, but he is going to have to wait or at least finish these games we already have.

Sonic Mania looks fun though!

damn...I might be late to the party but this sounds and looks dope!

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" on the Xbox One/Xbox One X

2-playerunknowns-battlegrounds-on-the-xbox-onexbox-one-x.jpg

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" boasts a bizarre name and a brilliant concept: 100 people on a massive island, armed with their wits and a scattered arsenal, fighting to the death. Whoever survives at the end of the match wins — and there can only be one.

Each match of "Battlegrounds" starts the same way: You're in a derelict airplane with 100 other actual people; as you fly over a deserted island you're able to choose where you'll parachute down. Since you're unarmed, if you land near anyone it's up to you to choose whether to run (an attempt to arm yourself and/or escape) or to fight (with your fists!) to death. As the match progresses, the area of the island you're able to occupy shrinks — thus forcing you closer and closer to your opponents.

It sounds intense because it is intense. There is no single-player, no "campaign" mode. Just the terrifying island and 100 actual people.

OF NOTE: This game is an "exclusive" insofar as it's only coming to the Xbox One this holiday season. The game is already available, albeit unfinished, on the PC; it will also head to the PlayStation 4 further down the line, though it's not clear when.
