I can't believe that there's only 2 episodes left this season.
But with that in mind, can we once again open up the 'The Dropped and/or Forgotten Plot Lines of Westeros'?
- Whatever happened to Sam stealing the Tally family sword? You'd think that with his father and son going to war, they would have brought that up once or twice.
- Whatever happened to the city of Qarth? Didn't the warlocks want Dany dead?
- And Xaro Xhoan Daxos killed the other members of the 13, then Dany killed him. So who's in charge of Qarth?
"Whatever happened to Sam stealing the Tarly family sword?"
It was symbolic, imo.
It showed who really should've been in charge of that household... all along.
Sam's father & brother were too stupid to get the sword back... just like they were too stupid to
'bend the knee' and LIVE.

Their bigotry & hatred... was their very own undoing.
Now Sam can bring the 'family sword' back... and REBOOT that whole House / Bloodline.
"Whatever happened to the city of Qarth? Didn't the Warlocks want Dany dead"
"And Xaro Xhoan Doxos killed the other members of the 13m then Dany killed him. So who's in charge of Qarth?"
They explained it in the season 2 finale...
The Warlock said the presence of the 3 Dragons makes their magic strong...
and Dany's presence makes the 3 Dragons strong...
so the Warlocks wanted to keep Dany ALIVE... in order to make THEMSELVES more powerful.
That's why they chained her up in the same room with her Dragons.
But Dany killed all the Warlocks. (at least the one who counted the MOST)
So that whole storyline was finished off.
But I think that whole story arc was meant to teach Dany a few valuable 'life-lessons'.... in
'being more cunning than your enemy'... and she used those 'life-lessons' the next year (in season 3), to acquire the Unsullied Army.

Because Dany learned
'how to set someone up for the long-con'... from Xaro Xhoan Doxas.
As for the city itself...
Qarth never really had any rulers to begin with... and they don't have much of an Army, if any.

It's a 'trading city' for merchants, located by the water... with large ports for ships.
The city relies on it's location... and it's HIGH WALLS... to keep invaders out.
Since they are located at the end of a big-ass DESERT... after an Army almost 'dies of thirst' (and/or 'heatstroke').... the very last thing a soldier will have any energy for.... is trying to climb over some big-ass walls.
So the only way to capture that city is by Sea... using Warships. Which nobody really has. Except Euron.
If you are not the Greyjoys... it doesn't make any sense to spend all your money on expensive ships, to invade & take over... when you can make even MORE money (peacefully)... just by trading goods with them.
Knowing this, they don't have any real 'military leaders'

... they just had the 13 most successful
'merchants' running the city.
Soon enough, I think a whole different set of 13 merchants took over the city.... and ran it like normal again.
And it probably didn't take very long either.
Just my opinion.
