The defense still ain't shit, but their shooting system is ok.

Same strategy 2K used back in the day to compete with Live & Madden. They would release NBA & NFL 2K for $40. One year they released them for $20.
I wish these companies would stick to the 40-70 range. They told me the new Shadow of Mordor Gold edition is a 100. Okay u pay and u still need mad updates to clean up bugs etc.
If u gonna i take a step in game pay currency make it worth it at least.

ya the NHL series is dope...I've been fucking w/ it since '13...I only buy the odd years tho...I used to do that w/ 2k but I fucked around and bought it 3 years in a row...and now I'm considering fucking w/ '18 smh

That shit is all shooting, that's why all the gameplay footage before the demo came out was just them shooting shots.
Dribble moves is limited. Off-the ball movement is limited.
Defense is very limited. Like 95% of the time when you go for a steal, the A.I. will run right by you. Your better hope your rim protector is there to bail you out every time you reach.
Just get your fill of the demo and then wait for that shit to be 10-15 dollars on Cyber Monday.

Nah Man 2K was shitting all over live when Live was cornered the market and started not giving a fuck about the product

I've been playing 2K since the Dreamcast. 2K was the better overall game but Live had name recognition. With the price drops it help pull those Live fanboys over. The rest is history.
The thing is now that 2k runs pro basketball simulation they've gotten comfortable. Yeah the graphics get better but they gameplay only improved marginally. I think they rate most players way too high and out of the box the gameplay is laughable. Thank God for roster creators though.
Roster creators? Do they regulate based upon real time factors?
There is an entire online community that is dedicated to making 2k as realistic as possible. They edit the rosters to greatly improve gameplay and make it more realistic. Check out: http://www.operationsports.com/
NBA 2K on Dreamcast is still goat.
Check out the SimWorld crew on OS then. They make the most realistic rosters. Not sure if they're going to do a project this year but they are official.
