Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

^^ Agreed. I think you are right.

Tyrion is a MUCH BETTER politician... than a Military Commander.
He's never fought in a dirty-ass War :smh:... like the one Cersei is waging.

Jorah's a Battle Tactician. With some grizzled old-school skills.
And that's what Dany needs to 'level the playing field again'.

With only 3 episodes left.. if Jorah doesn't show up in the next episode..... he will DEFINITELY show up at the last minute to save Dany... yet again.

Perhaps this shot of Jamie on the battlefield...is when Jorah is charging at him.... from the other direction. :dunno:

don't sleep on Tyrion - he proved his strategic skill at Blackwater -
His blind spot here is he isn't working against Cersi - who he knows isn't subtle nor forward looking
he is up against Jaime -
Tyrion knows Kevan is dead and he isn't really aware of Jaime's many loses and isn't expecting Jaime to have grown ...
Tyrion's strategies so far are for Jaime that we met in S1/2 and Cersei

Damn...All of this.

I caught the look from Little Finger.

Sansa running Winterfell was good. She was really looking out.

Bran seemed weird as fuck to me. They need to explain it or at least have the Reed woman do so.

Wife and I wished a Dragon came over to Jon Snow to be greeted. I almost think they did that from that initial fly by. That Dragon came right over his shoulder. I don't recall any scenes like that without Danny and Tyrian unless the Dragons were going to burn you.

I wonder about Sam and the Arch Meister. It's almost like he's slowly putting Sam in situations to have access to knowledge.

The micro expressions in this episode were masterful.
^^ This. Agreed.

That slick Arch Maester just threw Sam into the 'Accelerated PHD Program for Gifted Students'
He knows that Sam reads EVERYTHING he gets his hands on... so 'making copies' means 'writing it all down' (word for word)... on new parchment.

By the time he is finished... Sam will be a BEAST... because he will learn all that (long-forgotten) 'knowledge' that barely anybody reads anymore.

Sam doesn't realize it yet... but he just got the classic Mr. Miyagi... "Wax On / Wax Off" lesson. :D

My dude Euron on some black rob "finger in her asshole like woah" stuff.
Danny and Jon was uneventful. Slowly but surely Danny is getting crazier and crazier. Lady Olena went out like a G.
Bran seemed high and distant WTF. No Arya . The Lannisters are like the patriots ruthless cheaters that just know how to win.
Cant wait for next week.:money:

I just hope the writers go back to the theme of "everything Cersei touches turns to shit" ... again proving her father's statement about her not being nearly as clever as she thinks she is.

We get it you Dont fuck with Cersi.

But ever since she switch to black she been my favorite Charter this season.
And after 7 seasons this the 1st time Danaris was annoying the fuck out of me.

Don't sleep on Tyrion's battle strategy abilities. Remember he had multiple clever ideas to fend off Stannis' army before Tywin was able to come save them. That was nothing short of brilliant

You forget also, Jamie aint no hoe when it comes to war either.

Taking the Tyrells home was fucking Brilliant. Got all the food they need and the gold.

Little finger told Sansa, something Cersi already knew "Fight all battles everywhere at once"

Favorite moment of the night, Cersi told the iron bank to stay a fort night and our debt will be paid.

By the end of the episode, they had the gold, "A lasnester always pays their debt" Dope Shit!!!

Shit just drags and drags with so much wasted dialogue this season. Did we really have to be bored to death of all that damn gibber gabber shit before anything worthwhile took place in this episode? Did we really need to hear that weak ass long winded conversation before she kissed old girl with the poison? They been talking about white walkers for how many seasons now? This has to be the "shit white people dream about" while on vacation season.

There's a 'limit' to Tyrion's war strategies.
And that limit is because.... Tyrion is NOT nearly as ruthless as Cersei. (Not even close. :smh:)

Cersei will kill everybody... in order to win... But Tyrion would not.

At the battle of Blackwater, it was Cersei who got the Pyromancers to START making all the Wildfire. (Not Tyrion)
Tyrion just took her idea and ran with it.

He did tell the troops at the gate about the 'back door', so they could sneak up from behind, on the beach.
Just like in tonight's episode... he told the Unsullied about the 'secret passageways' into Casterly Rock.

His plans are tactical. (check)
His plans are strategic. (check)
His plans are are more Navy Seal 'Strike Team'... than 'Scorched Earth' Policy. (check)

The ONLY problem is.... Tyrion's war plans lack the HIGH-LEVEL OF SAVAGERY that is required to beat Cersei.

If it come down to a battle of...."Who's Doing THE MOST" (gruesome shit) to their enemies..... Dany can match Cersei's bold Savageness. All day long. But she just needs someone like Jorah to keep her from.... 'totally losing control'.... after she unleashes utter devastation.

ehhh - on TV maybe, but not really - cause you might be of the opinion compassion /mercy can't accompany ruthlessness
anyway tonight all the victories go to Jaime not Cersi
Cersi would kill everyone to win
but Tyrion wouldn't need to kill everyone in order to win
Tyrion thinks outside the box - constantly reframing his options -
he has already proven many times his ability to run circles around Cersei
his only error here is underestimating Jaime

Its not savagery that defeats Cersi - all it will take is just leading Cersi into destroying herself
The real contest here is Jaime vs Tyrion, and my guess is Cersi will fuck Jaimie's work up somehow

Also Jaime now knowing Tyrion had nothing to do with Joffrey's death is going to be in the back of his mind - even with Tywin's murder( there is another story the show is avoiding that would add to that dynamic)

keep trying.... maybe by the end of season 8 you'll get better at it :giggle:

I thought she might rat little finger out for his part in Joffrey's death before she died herself.... she told him at one point that if she had nothing else to lose, she would.

I was hoping she had some sort of antidote stashed away that she could take after she left. Hard to do I know since you never know what the poison is, but still.

I agree with you about Tyrion underestimating Jamie. You are correct.

But I disagree about Cersei... destroying herself. :smh:
She's not going to destroy herself.... Dany will do that for her. Trust.

Cersei is winning a few battles now... and she gonna 'stay cocky' when they use the Tyrell Gold to payoff the Iron Bank....

But Dany is just a few episodes away from ... 'breaking her WHOLE foot off'... in Cersei's ass.

Now granted, Dany might lose a Dragon (or two :dunno:) in the process... but eventually, she gonna show Cersei what the word 'SAVAGE' really means....(and who had it tatted across their belly FIRST :D since birth)

And in the midst of all the flaming chaos... Cersei gonna get choked right off the Show (by a 'sore loser' ally).. just like the prophecy predicts.

Season 6 Finale = Ohhhh SShheeeeiiiitttt.... Cersei blew up the Sept of Baelor!!!:eek:

Season 7 Finale = Dany: "Hold my beer".

Wait for it. :D

When there is usually only ONE, single EPIC battle every season... why do some people still think that every single episode of Game of Thrones needs to look like it was directed by Michael Bay, with relentless (non-stop) action scenes? :dunno:
Small-minded people. Probably related to the same people who make real housewives of wherever the fuck so fucking popular. Some shit I just flat-out don't get

I love great dialogue, it's one of the reasons why one of my favorite shows is Justified (Raylan Givens is a beast). Great dialogue and great moments not necessarily action scenes make a great show.

Nah - the real enemy is not Cersi
so Cersi will not be able kill any dragons
she will put a lot of effort in being ready to kill dragons but
her demise will be in house with some external assistance

the true enemy and real battle is beyond the wall

Cersei will probably get taken care of at the end of this half season then next year they deal with the white walkers

why cut off hope for revenge beyond the grave?
he lost that battle too, if
Blackwater was GoT version of Kobayashi Maru - NO ONE was winning that battle with the resources available to Tyrion
Tyrion was still able to annihilate Stannis's fleet and decimate his army - even if Tywin didn't show up and Stannis took Kings Landing it would have been a Pyrrhic victory - he would have been trapped and defenseless against Tywin's army
