Never have I been on a real vacation, so I figured I'd give this a try. Taking my lady with me but after looking at some videos on youtube, Im not so sure. I looked up some old threads on this topic and just wanted to get some up to date reviews.

yeah, I have never had any problems with them. I have been on 5 with Carnival. And I have always had fun! Man them Guys burgers love them!! but like the homeboy HellBoy said, do the newer ships 6+ days are ideal, if your on the bigger ships, 5 days you might be okay with it, but there is so much to do, you can do something almost every hour that your on the ship... hell I spent a few night in the casino playing roulette! and a night sleeping on deck with the wife looking at the stars. Let us know what ports your going to, and we will give you some tips what and what not to do.

The cruise line has dropped off some in the last 15 years.
The food is bland, the ports of call are too few, time at Ports of call is too short.
Way too many unattended children have their run of the ship.
Swimming pool is loaded with teenagers.
Gold Status, one cruise away from platinum.
It's far better to stay at the island resorts. Island night life is great.
The islands are better when the cruise ships leave.
Just my opinion though.

If you have kids Carnival will take care of them, no problem. If you don't, you may want to look at Royal Caribbean.

Been on 9 carnival cruise I love carnival!!!

In feb I was on a NCL 10 day out of NY didn't like it that much, geriatric crowd and bland food IMO.

Going on the dream outta NO this weekend!

If you take a cruise make sure you stay on ship time when in port (have a watch cause yo phone may switch to local time.)

Deck 5 is usually best for watching pier runners

and leave nay nay and dem at home!

As luck would have it the Wife and I just walked in the door a couple hours ago from a cruise to Freeport and Nassau. We had a great time but if I give you any advice on Cruises. Don't book anything over 4 days. A three day weekend cruise is bout perfect. Anything over that and you'll lose some of the steam doing the same thing over and over.

When I went, we did what we came to do which is relax, and get drunk off our asses, and eat as much food as possible and thats what we did no issues. I would go out on the rear deck at night, they have these cabana chairs. I'd fall asleep for 2-3 hours there its so peaceful.

My only complaint with this cruise line is most of the cabin views are of water.

I liked leaving from NY. I used to live in Brooklyn and the port we left from was on the west side of manhattan 52 st. we stayed the night before and got a chance to feel like a westsider.

Thing is the ship norwegian Gem was more for older folk. I'm talking 60's was the young age :smh:

That Marvel day cruise looks like fun do that shit!!!

It will be an experience you and the fam will never forget!

What is the best type of room to get for a family and where in the ship is best to stay?
ok room location is a preference thing. My 1st cruise we had a room at the very front of the ship and it was almost our last.

When you are at the front you get this up and down motion as the bow/front of the ship breaks the waves, that makes me queesy when there for an extended period of time.

In the middle of the ship there is no real movement or feel of motion.

Now the rear...THAT MY SWEET SPOT:yes:

Most of my 8 carnival cruises have been in aft balconies. I love the side to side motion you get and that shit rocks me to sleep like a baby!

Disney Cruise Line Introduces Marvel Day at Sea
October 21, 2016

(10:20 a.m. EDT) -- Disney cruisers departing from New York City on select sailings next fall should keep an eye open for their favorite Marvel universe super heroes and super villains.

The cruise line will hold day-long "Marvel Day at Sea" celebrations on seven Disney Magic sailings, featuring all-day entertainment including interactions with super heroes and villains like Spider-Man, Captain America and Thor; a Marvel-themed deck party complete with pyrotechnics and sound effects; youth activities including Marvel-themed trivia sessions and arts and crafts; and special merchandise and food and beverage offerings.

Also part of the Marvel Day at Sea fun are screenings of popular Marvel films, as well as the newest theatrical releases. Kids will enjoy viewings of the Disney XD shows Marvel's Avengers Assemble, Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Marvel Day at Sea will be held on seven- and eight-night Disney Magic Bahamas cruises departing New York City October 6, 14 and 28, 2017 and November 4, 11 and 18, 2017. It also will be available on the seven-night Canadian Coast cruise departing NYC on October 21, 2017.

DUDE looks like if you go in oct or nov you may get an advanced screening of THOR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somebody already said it. A cruise what you make it.

Carnival offers Fun Ships. The Carnival experience is made up of folks that want to have a good time. White folks stay trying to make a new or first Black friend. The other cruise lines - not so much.

Royal Caribbean wants to be a floating mall and overall they have a few itineraries better than Carnival.

Norwegian is a mix of Carnival and Royal.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and snack are included in the price.

On board Carnival there are broadway musical shows, liquor tasting, deck parties, art auctions, casino gambling, bingo, comedians: both family oriented and adult themed, live music of all flavors, trivia gathering, most have outdoor movies and a nightclub.

There is always something to eat and something to do 20 hours a day.

There are adults only pools and jacuzzis on every Carnival ship.

Next, the ship arrives at a destination.

Most cruises travel to a Caribbean Island so there will be a warm water beach as well as local food and drink. Every island has its own flavor and vibe. If you are Black then you will look like the people on the island so you will be good traveling out and about. Explore. I never do the Carnival excursion. I research destinations at the house and hire a local taxi for a fraction of the cost.

Cruising is like a sampler plate of vacation destinations.

I have done 2 day to 8 day cruises. I prefer the longer cruises. Going on a 14 day in 2018.

Disney cruise line is not worth the money. Their cruises are priced by a room full of lavar balls.

You can sail with a certified birth certificate and State ID or a Passport Card or a Passport Book.
