Famous friends/encounters (post em)

Nice thread! I have too many to mention them all so I will mention a few. While working security at a luxury hotel in D.C. I met Jayne Kennedy, Ted Knight, James Brown, Sammy Davis, Jr., Muhammad Ali (Still have the 11x14 autograph poster) Bill Clinton and best of all Yul Brynner. I attended Lisa Left Eye Lopez funeral and was seated in Arista Records section. After the funeral the VIP section exited through a secured area. I was in a courtyard kicking it with Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown and Little Bobbi Kristina. Whitney was telling me how she taught Bobbi Kristina to swim. She said, I just let her go. Bobby was really cool to chat with. I sat directly across from Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupree. Janet had on Black pants and not panties. When she stood up, you had a clear view of the crack of her ass. I could not wait for Eddie Long to say something meaningful that got people on her feet. I was like, "Wait for it, here it come!" I also met the cute Diferent World version of jasmine Guy. She was as fine as spring water. I have no idea what happened to her. I wanted to lick her face she was so fine. She gave me a smile that said, rape me, I won't tell. (The End)

Talked to Michael J. Fox for a few minutes back in the day (mid/late-90s) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_J._Fox

Bumped into Blue Edwards and his family at Holt Renfrew back around 1995/1996. We got autographs and wished him well with the season - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Edwards

Talked to Shareef Abdur-Rahim downtown back in the day - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shareef_Abdur-Rahim

Talked with Pavel Bure back in his prime with the Canucks (early-90s). Great speed & highlight collection - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Bure

Bumped into Red1 (of the Rascalz) 3 times over the course of a few years. It was pretty comical. Once at a department store ... once while parallel parking across town ... and another time at a concert - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rascalz

Used to run into Wendell Pierce all the time, either while in NYC or New Orleans. He and I had an argument about whether or not Pontchartrain Park (the neighborhood he grew up in) was a part of the 7th Ward or not. I said it wasn't, but, whatever lol

Ran into John Goodman a lot because he had a house in New Orleans - not sure if he still has one there now. Very nice guy.

Drew Barrymore when I lived in NYC - she doesn't look good without makeup, and this was 10 years ago...yikes!

Know Dwayne aka Lil Wayne from school growing up - his manager, Cortez, is still pretty cool with all of us since he also went to school with us too.

My good friend is the daughter of one of The Emotions (Best of My Love) and her father produced with Earth, Wind and Fire. I didn't think anything of it until she invited me to an event and she literally knows EVERYONE. Wasn't on some stunting shit either. She introduced me to Samuel Lee Jackson, Magic and Cookie, Stevie Wonder, Angela Basset, Keith David, and a unchanged of other people.
One thing I've noticed is that celebs generally want to be treated like everyone else.

Entered a singing contest as a teenager. Made the semi final round. Winner that year was Michael Buble.

Met Adina Howard backstage at a concert. She gave me shit for not being more enthusiastic.

Interviewed Tariq Nasheed for my college newspaper. He was different than the man you hear now. Sadly, the editor refused to print it.

As a rapper I recorded at Tom Green's bandmate's studio. The engineer was the DJ from Len of "steal my sunshine" fame. Did an unreleased collaboration with Sybil Thrasher, the singer from RAMP's "Everybody Loves the Sunshine." I also worked with the engineer who did Nelly Furtado's first album .

As an engineer I worked with Klaus Fluoride from the Dead Kennedys and Prairie Prince of Journey. Also did sound for Stephen Goldsmith, the former deputy mayor of NYC (Not so proud of that one).

My ex-girlfriend just signed a reality show contract with the OWN network so we'll see what happens there.

Yeah I forgot I met Busta and the whole Flip Mode Quad. Busta is an ass. He thinks he is way more important that who he is. Goofy mf-er. He Jamaican too.

I'll just say this, two of the biggest assholes are Wyclef and Busts Rhymes. Strait up dick heads.

Red one lol. That takes me back. I remember taking it with DJ Kemo at CFRO. He was the first person to play my music on the air. A year later I asked him for his autograph on behalf of my girlfriend. He looked at me like I was fucking crazy. That should have been my first red flag about her

Always enjoyed their work. Got the first album on cassette tape. Some of the homies in junior high had older brothers who were friends with the group members ... so it was cool to hear about them coming up in the biz, and getting shine on radio & Muchmusic.

How's Maximus Clean doing these days (speaking of CFRO, CITR, and more local radio that had hiphop programming back in the day)? Enjoyed listening to Max's shows & others back in HS too.

Maximus is Good. Married with a daughter. He runs a mobile DJ company and almost made a return to the Vancouver air waves a couple years ago. It will probably happen eventually.

It's funny to think of what fame in the Canadian rap game looked like before Drake.

Dude!!

These cats had my boy Mike call me cause they couldn't run the SP 1200. NYC cat tole me he'd pay me $200 a day to program for him. I said fuck it and met up with him. he gave me the samples, and I flipped them for him. The guy they were working for was Stevie's personal doctor who was also a gynecologist. He's the one I quoted in the other thread about yeast and spinach in pussies, but I digress.

Once the doctor saw me, and saw what was going on, he fired that dude and ended up getting Africa Islam to mix the album. (side note, when Ice T said Iz takes pics it's true. I've see all the but naked backstage shit from Ice T's shows, PS Darlene is fine as fuck) Anyway, we move from the valley to the 18 Wheeler that Stevie used to make secret life of plants.

We are there for a few weeks and Stevie drops in to listen. He's jamming to the shit and that head nod that Eddie made famous is in effect. I was fucking drying inside, but hey, it's Stevie, He's a fucking R&B Hero and I have a little rap song in Rotation on Kday so I kept my mouth shut. So after that, he invites us in to his main studio and its fucking filled with all kinds of shit. 4 Linn drums, Rolands, Synclavier, Fairlights fucking every keyboard and drum machine ever made in at least duplicate. Hell, he has the Roland 808 programmed for Sexual Healing on the damn shelf. After that mind fuck, he asks if anyone want to play air hockey? We all had that Charlie Murphy look like "What the fuck Bro?" but he was serious. So Mike says, I'll play you. So this bastard Stevie, grabs the puck and handle, then puts his forearm in front of the goal, and beats the shit out of my boy. :roflmao: Man, we was dying!! So I was like, I got next. I didn't give a fuck cuzz was blind, so I adopted a different strategy. I noticed he was using his hearing to locate the puck, so once I got it, I would reach across the table and clack my puc on his side. He would try and hit it, move his arm and I'd bank it in on his bitch ass. So I skunked this cheating ass ninja in his house, on his table. Cats looked at me like I was foul, but Stevie was cool, cause everyone let him win cause he was blind and rich so he appreciated the competition. Well, the album never really came out, and the Doc never finished paying me for my programming, but I had a blast and ended up doing engineering more shows with Ice. Back in the day I did LordSinister's True Hollywood stories. I got a lot of them man. I just got a hi8 VCR to dump tape from back in the day. I'm sure there are a lot of gems there. Maybe I'll do a Woodchuck and let y'all Ock my old ass. :D I have seen some really cool shit.

Good to hear. Thanks for the update. He always struck me as good people. Good energy over the airwaves. We would occasionally cassette-record some of the new, exclusive songs they would air. First place I ever heard of a number of artists.

Same.

I think there might still be a box of those old tapes somewhere in my mom's house

Had the bass levels/settings cranked on the living room stereo ... so many of the recordings came out distorted. Many of the songs sounded even better. The opening 10 - 15 seconds to Suga Free's "If U Stay Ready"? Enough to nearly blow your speakers or eardrums out ...

:roflmao3:

I met and held convo with Barack Obama in Hyde Park. A very cool, personable brother.

Stood next to Muhammad Ali as a teenager without realizing it was him at first. Last year, I hung out with the members of Living Colour. In years past, spoke with Kwame Toure and also Sister Souljah and Abiodun Oyewole (The Last Poets), Shahrzad Ali, Piri Thomas, Malik Yoba and Dick Gregory. Talked with the jazz singer Gregory Porter.

Spoke with Keith Sweat, Marsha Ambrosius, Roger Ebert and Pop Staple. Seen McCauley Culkin, Quincy Jones, Jesse Jackson and Karl Malone in the wild.

Also Roland Martin, Bernadette Stanis, Terrence J and Rocsi. I shot photos of them as well as Barack.

Ran into Ramsey Lewis in a classroom playing a song on piano for one of my former music instructors in college.

I used to see R. Kelly perform in the subway for change. He'd wear these imitation Raybans and be sitting on the bench with a Casio keyboard doing a Stevie Wonder routine. I never gave him any change, because his singing was crappy at the time.

Guess he doesn't need my change now lol.

Tyra Banks had the Biggest head I had ever seen on a Human being...ran into her at Morehouse/Spelman Homecoming last yr...she was Campaigning for Hilary Clinton.

Saw Rosie Perez give a talk at a university around 2010. That woman was fine as I don't know what...fine, and sexy as hell!

My fam and I went out to dinner and saw Dick Gregory waiting for his ride. We invited him to join us bc it was Dick Gregory but also we were from STL and he's a high school classmate of our uncle, spent two hours with him. Had a GREAT time.

Shared a tiny regional plane with John Cena. Mofo was massive. He was real chill and graciously thanked anyone who talked or said hello.

There are others but I tend not to remember most.

About 5 years ago I was on a flight with Ice Cube. First class. We both had the aisle seats. We talked off an on the whole flight. We discussed the line "get off my dick and tell your bitch to come here!" Lmao. He realized I knew who he was but wasn't gone speak. He eventually goes "W'sup?" I go "you ain't gone tell my bitch to come here?" He laughed and we kicked it the whole flight to LAX.

I boxed as a kid so I know Buster Douglas and several older fighters. While in Vegas me and the homey go to Floyd's gym. He's there just roaming around. I sit and watch sparring. I end up talking to Chop Chop Corely. We laughing and talking Shit, and he motions Floyd over and goes "Ya boy said you lost to De La Hoya!" ( I didn't say that, but he knew Floyd would react.). The 3 of us getting into a boxing verbal shit talking match. It gets loud so Fernando Vargas and a few other fighters come over to see. I lightweight worried Kats won't really know it's not real beef. Floyd told me next time I'm in Vegas to come through. Never did.

I'm in a restaurant off the strip down by the South point. Me and my girl chat with this box head bald dude. He says he is Mike Tysons brother. We clown him. He calls Mike puts him on the phone!!!! Talked to Mike for about a minute. Got drunk as fuck with his brother.

I'm at the Mayweather/Canelo weigh in. Me and my girl go to some fights the day before. We got good seats for about $100 for both. All these fighters are in the row. Maidana, too many To mention. Press comes over to interview them and usher us over to this fenced in area. We had to get up because boxers were on both sides of us. We end up in the bullpen with all the interviews talking to o fighters and Shit.

was at one of mike tyson's birthday parties when i was 16, don king had just bought property from my father and grandfather in orwell ohio and had invited us out to the party
brenda king and tina turner are cousins to my kids and their mom met brenda king a few times during my first marriage and tina turner once
warren moon is my second cousin
grew up with otis mcduffy who played for miami dolphins and brad sellers who played for the bulls, met michael jordan through brad sellers when they played in cleveland i see sellers often this very day.
a few of the cavaliers were my neighbors at my last address, as well as the surgeon who performed the face transplant for the woman who's face was torn off by a chimpanzee was my next door neighbor . Commander Janeway/Red from orange is the new black and her congressman husband also lived down the street and 2 local news anchor celebrities. Met a lot of political figures because of my grandfather, such as the stokes brothers, john glenn, 2 governors,

we didn't hang with because we were kids but my father met bb king while we were in canada in the early 80's and they hung tight that whole time. something back then there was an alcohol that wasn't available in the u.s they all enjoyed there.

mint condition but that was a disaster because the backer who was a friend back then talked me into investing money into a concert with some other people and ticket sales bombed was just shit...but they went on anyway and performed anyway with what was made i was kinda suprised.

last was a white well known porn model i can't remember her name but she was bad af i'm trying to find a pic....aria giovanni, that's her name. sexy af but fucked up attitude about shit. arguing at me about a fucking car charger or something years ago when i had a mall accessory kart going.

Funniest thing: When i lived in Los Angeles, i saw famous people all the time at LAX. Right before i moved, i saw Nick Cannon walking through the airport, but nobody gave a fuck. He had on some wild ass "notice me" shit. He even sat in the regular ass boarding gate with us and it took a minute before some young kid ran up on him. Nigga had on shades inside. Gave off that Smuckers vibe.

Was in a pizza shop in LA, and Owen Wilson came in. They sold pizza mostly by the slice. They motioned him to the front and we assumed he had called ahead, but he didnt. He paid for everybody's slices behind him and left. Must have just dropped a $50 or $100, but we all got free slices and drinks. It was late so it wasn't too crowded yet. Hoped in a limo and bounced. We was like "I know he didnt cut the line!" Then we went "Oh, well, cool ass dude."

@bgbtylvr shit, quiet as it is kept, I think there are a lot of times people can jump a line at restaurant or some place where you can tell the person working up front has dealt with shitty people all day. All you would have to do is be nice and treat them with respect. Anywho, if I could, I'd love to do that Owen Wilson ish...I like paying things forward from time to time.

I met with a bunch of negro league players in 2004 at a meet and greet. Ernie Nimmons was one of them I'm the only one I remember. I met him and his wife and got his card, this card right here.

I went there to meet Buck O'Neil, Negro League Legend, but he wasn't feeling good that weekend. He was featured on All Star Baseball 2004 and they sat and talked with him for almost an hour. He told Amazing Stories. I had hoped to meet him. I got deployed in 2006 and soon after I returned back home he passed away at the age of 94. I never got the chance

My grandfather used to talk about him and satch.
