Famous friends/encounters (post em)

Sat next to Ozzie Newsome during a pee wee league football banquet in 6th grade.

Got a lift home from Mike Johnson Browns Middle LB late 80's walking home from football practice in high school.

On vacation in Bahamas at 14, mascara'd up my peach fuzz and snuck in casino played Blackjack with Dominique Wilkins older brother who looked JUST like him. Nique was my favorite player at the time back in 88.

Gave Buckshot some dap after a show in Lorain, the entire BCC came out pre Smif n Wessun album.

Met a lot of people in my time in passing and some in biz, but one that had me like whoa was when I used to work for EMS in NY, Miki Howard was performing at a free Wingate Park concert in the late 90's. We were the standby ambulance if anyone got hurt. Well her backup singer fainted on stage and I got to take her in the ambulamps. And lawd, Miki got in the back of the ambulamps with me. I was taking care of her singer. But geez I used to have a crush on her foine ass. Even the doctors in the ER wasn't tending to the singer when we got there, the attending physician (a black doc) there was stumbling asking Miki questions about the girl when he could of easily asked the girl, but just so he could talk to her.
Was funny, but she had me cuckoo for cocoa puffs.

I'm friends with or chop it up with from time to time:

-A Super Bowl winning QB
-Another two-time SB winning lineman
-A UFC fighter
-A former Fortune 500 company CEO

All are connections/relationships from college and organizations from college.

Few weeks ago spent about 10 minutes talking with Tamika Catchings about a business opportunity with her foundation; she was cool as hell.

Bumped into Freddie Gibbs many times as a kid at a bunch of stuff; this is before he was Freddie Gibbs.

'Black Jesus' who made the BET Uncut classic song/video "What That Thang Smell Like"; went to summer engineering camp with him for several years.

Chooped it up for a few with Phonte after a concert in town when FE performed; got like 5 minutes and discussed how much I rocked with LB and FE; got a pic and autographed for my 'Leave it all behind' CD; mad cool cat.

See athletes all the time in my current city but literally ran into Jermaine O'Neal one night coming around a corner at a club; drinks got spilled but homie was mad chill about it and we simply replaced the drinks and KIM; this was before the brawl lol.

Met Roberto Alomar, one of the coldest second basemen ever, in the dugout of Jacobs Field before a game when I work there in 2000. A cool cat. We talked baseball, my second favorite sport

I hate to admit this but R.Kelly is my little cousins Godfather. My family use to go to Chicago every year and hang out with him at his house. His first crib was this converted building. Shit was tight. I only met dude like 4 times. My cousin's wife's family was close to him in Chicago. I didn't know any of this until he showed to sing at her Fathers furneral. He even wrote a dedication to Wilbur in his R.Kelly album. I also met Aaliyah once back in 1994 at one of his BBQ before his mom passed away. I think it was before the marriage thing. Sadly I didn't talk to her. Chick was fine as hell and I was 100 percent nerd back then. I had zero game. But she is the reason why I have a unhealthy obsession over red bones with long back hair. I met R.Kelly's second wife Angela at a BBQ. I think they weren't married then. That last BBQ back in 1997 was the last time I saw him. I went to college that year and wasn't able to do the yearly BBQ thing. Then a couple years later the sextape dropped and my entire family disowned him. Mainly because they knew it was him because we had been inside the sauna in his house where he fucked one of the chicks.

The crazy part is that I knew him right before he really exploded and because my family disowned him... I was never able to take advantage of any groupie scraps when played shows in Nashville or Memphis. All those years and all I've really got are some pictures of us playing ball in Michael Jordons gym and a Shirt with some BBQ sauce on it that he signed when i first met him at Wilburs furneral.

That's my only famous friend story that's worth anything....

Except for the time I saw Nicole Kidman at this Mexican restaurant in Nashville and Chick was floating around like that Alien from Mars Attacks.

I played with or against about 10 former NFL players. Current NBA player Marreese Speights is my cousin's, cousin. Met him once. Took pictures with Brook Shields, Jay Leno, and the Pointer Sisters during Desert Storm at an USO show in Bahrain. During Grad Night had a long conversation with Gloria Estefan. She was cool as hell.

Flew from Cali to Texas for some military training and me and my boy was bumped to first class. This tall cat was sitting opposite from us and he bumps me like man ain’t that somebody famous? I look and immediately recognize George Iceman Gervin. Said dude, that’s Ice:hmm: he said nah man hat ain’t him! I said mf move! Asked Mr Gervin for autograph and he gets off plane , chops it up, takes pics and invites us to his restaurant. Cooler than his namesake

Saw Janet Jacme in worst strip club in Atlanta. She didn’t look too good and I stood there wondering wtf had happened to her face...she was confused and I vamped. Was cool from what I saw but I was like damn

Kenya Moore and I got off plane in Atl early 2000s she stood there trying to flag down a cab and I stood there looking at her face. Skins real bad. Like she was waiting for me to ask for an autograph. Instead I silently said damn, and kept moving. Real uppity mf , other folk was reconizing her and she was acting snooty

Saw Amerie in UAE on base. Show was hot garbage and she looked real tired. Gave autograph and was cool. Still pretty and her husband was jocking like the pussy would leave him.

Tommy Davidson at same base few months later. Pure nut, down to earth and chilled for about two hours talking about life and how he hate white people to most of the white peoples there (who laughed) my man gave two fucks, dapped me up and told me to watch them motherfuckers. Also talked about his being on drugs, shit needs to made into a movie

A few more shit I forgot

I've been fortunate enough to work with a lot of people I grew up watching or are just in general fans of today. Don Cheadle, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Damon Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Tisha Campbell, Seth Macfarlane, JB Smoove. That's just a few.

I met former Cleveland Browns CB Hanford Dixon and RB Greg Pruitt (both were judges) at the talent show I won two weeks ago. Hanford Dixon coined the Browns end of the stadium the Dawg Pound and a tradition was made

Funny thing is, Hanford Dixon is 58 years old and looks like has only been out of the league a couple years. I asked him if he was ever going to age and he said the 35 year-old he's dating keeps him Young

I would post a picture but I'm too lazy to blur out my face in the picture

All the fucked up guys NY people read about in the newspaper. Bobby Shmurda. The guy that took a selfie with his mother's decapitated head. The dude that killed his lover and used dudes testicles as a bracelet. The guy that ran over all those people on 42nd street. The kid that beat that jogger to death in Howard beach. The guy that traveled all the way from Carolina to NY to kill a black person with a sword. The perpetrators of pretty much any high profile heinous crimes in NY. If you ask me about him I probably interacted with him.

damn.

I've got several, but here's one....

Got into the 2006 NBA All-star weekend dunk contest as a seat filler.
Ended up sitting next to Marv Albert and his wife.
Directly behind me was a random guy who said he was a baseball player.
Somehow we ended up conversing about baseball in between the events.
He told me that he was gonna take baseball by storm and to remember his name in the next few years.
I asked him "what is your name" and he said Curtis Granderson.
I was pretty much saying to myself "yeah ok man whatever".
He turned out to be a damn good pro baseball player just like he promised.

Met Talib Kweli in Montana. Fucking Montana? Like really dude? He did a show or something and we was headed to iraq. Dude was chilled to the max and we asked for autographs and he was mad cool. Thanked us for serving and took pics. Told us him and Mos Def was working on some new shit but Mos was doing movies and shit, and dude smelled like a living piece of weed. Never forgot that.

This reminded me of the time I met Mos Def outside of the Party City on Atlantic ave in Brooklyn. I was with my mother and sister. He was both kind and gracious, but requested that we not take any pictures. I knew that was the norm for him, and I can respect that.

Over the years I have chopped it up with quite a few entertainers. My brother and I opened up for Tribe Called Quest @ the old Studio 183 in Miami (we were DJs at the time). The majority of Pandisc artist (Miami record label). 2 Live Crew, had access to Luke's warehouse for free records. During my years of covering Spring Break / BET events - I met OutKast, Bone, BoneCrusher, Nick Cannon, DMX, Pastor Troy, Fergie & Will.I.Am, Fat Joe, Too Short, Waka Flaka, Lisa Raye (very pretty in person),The Brat (pretty in person). Ran into Jeru the Damaga in an elevator. As a teen I used to valet on South Beach - Drove cars of multiple Dolphins players, even drove Jose Canseco and his brother's Ferrari's. One more, during a porn convention in New Orleans (2000), Pornstar Dee Baker invites me and my girlfriend back to her room, looks at my girlfriend and tells her "Im very gentle". Yea... we passed on that.

After 20 years in the business I got a bunch.

1. Went to the shooting range with Dre and his dessert eagle 50 cal.
2. Picked up Bushwick and Face, took em to McDonald's and they ate like 20 big macs at mom's crib.
3. Had drinks with Rosie Perez and Forrest in NY.
4. Worked in Stevie Wonders studio, met him and beat him in Air hockey.
5. Spent a few days in Phoenix with Dave Chappelle right after he did half baked.

Fuck it, just thinking about it it's really too many. Woodchuck probably got the same deal. You meet so many people doing music. Last one, I was on a plane last year and sat next to Leo from the Meters. He gave me a guitar pick and I told him how much of a fan I was of his and how much of his music we sampled (and cleared) back in the day.
