Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

are you guys putting in hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, or hundred thousands in this? I'm good with stocks for now, and I do well, but I'm intrigued by bitcoins. I'm curious to hear your success stories.
Put in what you can stand to lose.. sign up for coinbase and but 50 dollars worth of bitcoin. It will be worth 52 dollars tomorrow.

It's do or die time for DGB...

Within the next few hours we will see if it continues the sell off or will it pop back up over 1300 it may have enough momentum for another small run to 1600 or so.

The Citibank contest was the epitome of "buy rumor sell the news"...

What about Strat? Is it too late to get in on it?

Nah Stratis has another huge leg to go but its retracing from the last major wave.

If you buy now it may fall close to 200 but it will pump again.

But on the long term you should hold it, it will be a top 3 market cap so as long as you aren't a weak hand if you buy now just stash it and don't worry about the price.

This is why I say any talk of a bubble is years away. There will be min 100k people trading in that exchange come next month.

Four Reasons Bitcoin is Not A Bubble: Analyst
JUN 10, 2017
Nathan Martin from the Economic Edge blog posted an analysis on why Bitcoin is not a bubble. His four reasons make a lot of sense.

Decentralization
The power of Bitcoin rests in its decentralized nature. Because Bitcoin is not owned by any centralized banking system (unlike national currencies), the value cannot be arbitrarily manipulated by currency production (i.e. the devaluation of the German Mark, post-WWII). This gives Bitcoin the stability of a commodity like gold.

Supply
The supply of Bitcoin, unlike all other items of value like gold or currency, is strictly limited. There will never be more than 21 mln Bitcoins ever mined. The market is at 80 percent of that number, and will never exceed it. Mining is only getting harder, and the value of each coin will continue to increase.

Security
Decentralization and encryption mean that Bitcoin is secure. It cannot be manipulated by external forces and cannot be confiscated, apart from the hard copy key, which is held only by the individual user entity.

Fraud-proof
Because all Bitcoin transactions are recorded in the Blockchain, the opportunity for fraud is minuscule at best, and immediately traceable.

With unsurpassed security, zero external manipulation and a limited supply, there is no reason why Bitcoin should not continue to increase in price for the foreseeable future, says Martin. Bubble concerns are based on markets where these factors are not in effect.

According to Martin, while a bubble is certainly a possibility in the distant future, the valuation point for Bitcoin is only being tested by the recent gains. Martin argues that this current rise will, over time, be seen as building a base for far greater increases to come.

Yo Verge looking like its gearing for a move. This looks like the bottom this 120-100 area... This should bounce past 200 again this wave.. Hold!
I pray to God, Buddha, Allha , Jehovah Jireh and all of thee above..

I read this on bitcoin talk

"Hi Dogedarkdev,

I`ve bought some coins with the intention to hold them a while.

here are my thoughts and questions regarding the future of verge coin. Regarding the suggestions i will state below, you worked on this project so at the end you are entitled to shift/do what you think it`s best for your baby.

1) I see that there is the intention to add RootStock to Verge once it`s working for Bitcoin. This is awesome, the fact that verge will have privacy + smart contracts combined.

I think newcomers should have clear understanding what sets apart Verge from other coins: Monero, Dash, Zcash.
If privacy/smart contracts combo, i read that others will implement also this in the future, if not already.
This topic is not clear to me and need to read more, but a quick explanation here will help me and others searching for more info.
Once this is settled, Verge can gain more trust in the long run.

If Verge is 1st coin to add those, the fact that Zcash/Monero etc got a way bigger traction than Verge can be bummer for many future investors. would want to see your opinion on this one ( i m not talking about speculators).

2) Once the tech side stands on its own, marketing is crucial as you know. (actually this needs to be done aggresively IHMO , in parallel with rootstock implementation.
I see that you got verge ad , nice but i think it needs more than this:

suggestions regarding marketing:

1) twitter account to be more professional oriented, it still has one man show feel: check syscoin/ stratis way of doing things on twitter.
Posting about partnerships, trends and where fits or will fit in the blockchain echosystem).

2) verge blog?

3) brief presentation of the team + whenever future member comes aboard.

4) do you have a plan regarding deals for Verge? this will get more trust on future investors and it`s also addressing the very basic question: why verge and not other coin.

Curious of your thoughts here, nevertheless the fact that you and your guys built this from 0 up to this level is huge. But to bring it to the next level i think it will require a lot.

cheers!

do you have someone on ignore?

@oskywosky asked what coin we were talking about on the last page

Thanks. So Is QRL one that we should be watching? Do you have any recommended literature that we should review before getting involved. To the extent that it's a long hold, I kind of want to know what I'm getting into.

What withdrawal methods are you guys using? Coinbase keeps saying that they need more info and not accepting the info that I put in. I've seen Paypal as an option. How are you guys doing that?

it was an ICO that we missed out on that was selling for $0.08

when it hit the market it practically shot up to $0.64 then reached a high of about $0.89 primarily off hype/excitement

I ended up buying 1000 @ first @ about $0.62 then 1500 more for around the same price

it's @ about $0.65

just doing a quick read around here and @ bitcointalk ppl are excited about the tech and feel it can be groundbreaking...the buy-in was low for @ about $1500 total so it's one I don't mind sitting on for a while even if it takes a hit...w/ the promising tech and the low circulating supply this is one of those coins that can shoot up to $1-10 range in a few months time...I would go to p. 330 to find out more @largebillsonlyplease knows more about it...you can also google the white pages...for me I couldn't understand shit...it was really super technical

MobileGo (MGO) is now trading.

Price @ $2.45 (0.000831444 BTC)

Volume (24h) @ $48,936 (16.59 BTC)

damn they came in hard as a bitch...curious to see if that price goes up/down in a week's time...I had to skip on that ICO tho cuz they couldn't guarantee how many tokens you'd get...just said you'd get a % of what you put in which could amount to anything depending on the final amount sold...$2.45 tho...damn that's high out the gate

I know y'all not too heavy on WGRR but I can't wait for those rounds to be over so they can hurry up and release those tokens
