REEL MOWER OWNERS...HOLLA ATCHA BOY

I have St. Augustine grass as well. I push mow 22,000sq.ft. of lawn every 3 or 4 days during the growing season. Great fucking exercise and I love it. I mow at the highest setting my mower will go which is 4 inches. I mow slow (I take my time) and never, never cut wet grass. I can't stand mowing wet grass. I never do that shit. My shit looks like thick green lush carpet. I use Milorganite at a rate of 15lbs./1000 sq.ft. four times a year. Yeah that's a lot but it is what my lawn calls for. I also mulch mow which is very beneficial for your lawn.

Here is the mower I use (the grasscatcher is useless to me):

This is a great mulch mower with two cutting blades

I have purchased four sets of blades which get me through the cutting season. I go through all four sets and sharpen them all and tune up the mower in the offseason.

Also, I only use Non-Ethanol gasoline in my mower and anything I run period.

My fellas who keep a well manicured lawn ya boy finally broke down and got one of these
Fiskars-Stay-Sharp-Push-Mower.jpg

My grandfather had a old skool one but I never really looked into them until the other day I seen one of my neighbors down the street with a lawn that looked like a fucking golf coarse and in our area every lawn is St. Augustine so you know he had to take take of that shit. He said the reel mower has transformed his yard...razor sharp cuts and no fumes from gas or blade tearing the grass and shit.

I drove right up to home depot and got one... I will update after I use it

Are they suitable for every few weeks use, or just more of a thing to maintain it in between cuts type of thing??? Ive got a Bermuda lawn and realistically it doesnt need it every week, but going two weeks is probably too long.

bro give me 2 weeks and i will post it...that fucking crabgrass is annoying as fuck. i pull mine up by hand
Make you keep up posted Cat. I'm ALWAYS looking to improve my lawn, don't know about that old school though. I have self propelled and it still take me an hour. Also, I assume that you will NEVER bag your clipping?

Same joint I have, why non ethanol gas if you dont mind me asking???

Sure. Unless you use a fuel stabilizer, but I like to just use non-ethanol to be on the safe side.

I will refer you to this article from Consumer Reports because it is the truth.

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/...ethanol-can-make-small-engines-fail/index.htm

"Ethanol has inherent properties that can cause corrosion of metal parts, including carburetors, degradation of plastic and rubber components, harder starting, and reduced engine life," says Marv Klowak, global vice president of research and development for Briggs & Stratton, the largest manufacturer of small engines. "The higher the ethanol content, the more acute the effects."

My crabgrass thought blindside was delicious. The shit here in Texas is no joke. Just have to make sure I use pre emerge next season. Didn't know coming from cali cause my lawn stayed green

Ain't no such thing as one-and-done with crabgrass unless you spray roundup on that shit. I had to do two followup treatments with blindside at the .15oz/1000 sq.ft. rate. It did kill it though. And it was a bitch. Also, I use Prodiamine for a pre-emergent.

I spray all my herbicides and pesticides with this joint right here. Man you talk about nice to have. After using the 4gal. battery powered backpack sprayer this 12 gallon battery powered push sprayer by Chapin fits the bill nicely. And it is easy to push filled to the max too.

Got a Toro rear wheel drive joint. New sod, Kentucky Blue Grass and in ground sprinklers. My shit is tight but it needs Iron. It's not dark green. Miloganite works but Imma try Ironite. If you want that dark green Iron is what you need.

For Crabgrass, use this WITHOUT a surfactant. Trust me. If you do use it with a surfactant it will burn your grass. I am speaking from experience. I would use the low end treatment .15oz/ 1000sq.ft. first, rather than the .23oz/1000sq.ft.

Picked up one of these a few weeks ago. Love it.

All of my neighbors have been going nuts over it.

his lawn looks like shit...and the batteries in those things is usually good for one trip @ best...depending on the size of your lawn and how high the grass is

You sir are correct about iron. Iron deficiency can be seen if the tips of your grass are yellow. I actually have five 15lbs. bags of that in my garage right now. Also Milorganite lowered their Iron percentage from 4% iron to 2.5% iron. Please be careful with that Ironite. Don't over do it (your lawn could turn grey or even black) and make sure you have every piece of that shit off any concrete surface before it is watered in because it WILL stain orange.

I also have two gallons of this for a quick fix as well.

Sorry about the size of the photo.

Any recommendations for natural weed killers? Can't use all of the chemicals and shit I have well water and would be afraid of all of that shit leeching into the well.

$$$$$$$$$$ is all that moron and the bank cares about !!!!
The Jabooki ran good tenants away...wouldn't even let them cut it themselves when they got sick of it and offered !!!! The mom would come visit...look out the second floor window at my yard...then look at theirs and be like WTF???? How you gonna charge them the rent they were paying and not even have a decent yard to enjoy?!!! :smh::smh::smh:
i wouldnt even fuck with that...just get some shit called clearout and kill all the grass
I was tempted to spray ground clear but didn't want to get caught doing it !!! If they got something effective that attaches to a garden hose I'll do it early at6am while I got my dogs out back there, but like I said it has to have reach when on they hose !!!! He doesn't live there, he moved into a duplex he has cross town so he could make more money renting this property !!!
