Karrueche Tran is set to co-star oppositeNiecy Nash in TNT’s Claws pilot, an hourlong scripted dramedy set in a Southern Florida nail salon, from Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s Le Train Train.

Written and co-executive produced by Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me), Claws is said to be in the vein of Desperate Housewives. It follows the lives of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists. It soon becomes clear there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than silk wraps and pedicures. Janine Sherman Barrois is executive producer/showrunner.

In her first series regular TV role, Tran will play manicurist Virginia. Full of attitude, she has been filling in at the nail salon and makes no effort to hide her boredom and impatience with the job. Nash plays Desna Simms, the owner of the salon.

Tran co-starred in and produced The Bay digital series, sharing in the show’s best Digital Daytime Drama series Emmy. She recently starred in the movie A Weekend with the Family.
