Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

Naw I'm in Bay Area I have ripple account and I just opened bittrex I think I'm going to open a polo account too

Use Polo man. At the very least you would be in line with everyone else on here and it will be easier to troubleshoot any issues.

The hard part about this is....and I hope this is true based on my research. The banks really want the distributed ledger technology...not XRP...However, Ripple the company has said, you cant have one without the other. so that's been their hard line to keep the value of XRP in tact.
Let it be known that an attempt by the banks to recreate the process was tried and it failed. so XRP is the wave of the future transactions.

Why are people selling their XRP? This is not a pump and dump. Keep yo shit.

Yeah I sold about 25% of my holdings with the idea that Ripple was going to release more to stabilize the price. Ended up selling it for just over a penny(made double my money) but it kept rising to over 2 pennys. Now i'm thinking of buying more at this higher price.

Ever move isn't about pump and dumps. A lot of people are just traders with no real desire to hold any coin long term. Other people may be trying to recoup from prior loses with xrp or someone could have bought in at .005 and is taking a profit.

Assuming my math is correct. Let's say you bought in at .005 with $3000 (600000 xrp). At .02 you could have 12000 in what was about a months time. The average trader would have likely sold at .02 or sooner.

Horizon (HZ) may be a better example of a pump. At some point the price was at 00000018 and slowly it is now just under 00000040 ( may not be exact prices but close enough). I haven't seen any news and from what I could find its dam near a dead project.

Once again I point to the interview where the guy from XRP says the founders kept billions of ripple, and he is buying as much as he can...... They know its gonna blow...... Instant billionaires....

... XRP is the wave of the future transactions.
Miguel dropped an article yesterday that this is further proving your point

Ripple Continues to Bring Internet of Value to Life: New Features Increase Transaction Throughput to Same Level as Visa
We’re excited to be introducing several new features that improve the Ripple Consensus Ledger (RCL) and Interledger Protocol (ILP), by bringing the Internet of Value to life. ILP can now communicate with RCL to meet the needs of digital assets, traditional payments, and the traditional financial world, creating a network that can interconnect all the world’s value on ledgers. Ripple is now the best suited network to accomplish this.

Yeah the Interledger Protocol doesn't require XRP to work unlike the Consensus Ledger which is the public XRP block chain.

The reason they made the ILP accessible to the RCL is to get banks to start using XRP for transactions and whenever the regulatory scheme permits the use of digital currencies then they hopefully see that using XRP is better than any proprietary coin.

In RCL transactions the XRP is only used as a method to validate the transaction by Consensus.

See this post by Ripple's chief cryptographer:

https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/7550/how-does-ripple-solve-the-double-spend-problem

So if I want to send Curtdawg $10 using RCL, I would load o.ooo01 XRP and I would "validate" that I have at least $10 in my account.

The RCL block chain has a ledger entry that shows that at a certain time I had a balance of at least $10. By "consensus" other nodes which have their own sync of the blockchain "confirm" that I had the balance of $10.

Once enough nodes confirm my claim the RCL then agrees to enter a ledger entry deducting $10 from my account and depositing $10 in Curtdawg's account. An all this takes place in 6 or so seconds unlike 30+ minutes with Bitcoin.

That's the RCL in a nutshell and banks are already using the super fast transactions. RCL uses any currency so you don't need $10 worth of Ripple to send $10 USD.

Now in the ILP for settling would require an amount of XRP equal to the value of the transaction. That's the major come up and why this is a long term hold to see that industry use.

Anyone analyze the sell box? I'm looking right now and there are many many huge sell orders of xrp... am I reading this right? people are dumping their xrp by the 100,000s - if they bought in at 45.... and selling now, that is massive profit. Does this mean the price will be drop soon? Should we dump, get the profit and wait for the price to drop again and buy more?

That's just the gamble you take. But if you're in a good space with XRP you hold it. I did a similar thing with PEPECASH over on the tux exchange. I bought it mid way and it droooooooped. I bought the same amount I bought when I bought the mid. Then when it spiked to a nice high this week I sold both of them for a nice profit. But I held some...So I say all that to say do what works best for you at the moment.

If you can pull out your initial investment and play with the house money, then yes

I hope it does drop so I can buy more. I'm in it for the long haul. That said, there is so many out there that I don't think Poloniex can really effect the price that much.Especially with the volume that banks are going to need.

Nice. How much time does it involve.
It's just mouse clicks. I only know of Poloniex doing the loaning so you would have to get a polo account if you dont already have one then just transfer your XRP to your polo XRP wallet. From there move it to the lending side and set up your loan terms. Pen's youtube video one page back shows you exactly how.

I just put my whole portfolio into lending, Thanks to the brother Pen man. Learning new shit and keep stacking them chips. I'm transfer all of my shit from Kraken to Poloniex in order to able to loan out more

Black Excellence! Just a few months ago were were getting talked into investing in Ripple and in a matter of months we are short trading all kinds of coins, evaluating the market, and loaning. We are gonna fuck around and be a Lifetime movie years down the line.
