Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

I thought Dunn would be in contention for ROY and eventually be a very good player pretty fast. Im surprised at how quiet a rookie campaign he has had.

I just read an article how this is going down as the worst rookie class ever as far as win shares.

That's why Embiid can win rookie of the year in 30 games :smh:

other than that, Brogdon, Jaylen Brown :dunno:

Saric will win it. And yes, this class is awful. Time will tell if its worse than 2000.
Yeah bro, but I think the draft class with Michael Carter-Williams was worse than 2000. I mean think about it, Michael Carter-Williams won rookie of the year that year and look at where his career is now.

Naw, I would say PG might be it. Dunn might not be the answer. BTW has there been a team with as many lottery PG bust?

Towns doesn't really play defense

and Wiggins, I've never seen a player do so little in other categories with his skills and athleticism. He can play defense. He's learning to shoot...but 2 assist and 4 rebounds? That's why I always said the Lebron comparisons were waaaaaay off. He wasn't close to Lebron who was and is a play maker.
Your dead on about Wiggins. Has the potential to be a more all around player than he is.

That one atleast had Greek Freak tho.. He will be a perennial all star.. Also had solid guys like Olidipo and Steve Adams i believe.. those guys may save that draft.

True.... Still don't know how that dude won ROY and he was on my fucking team!! Those guys you mentioned weren't the players they are now then, which is why MCW won the ROY... These guys still have a few years before we can call this class a bust, but it doesn't look good for them though... :smh:

Sixers say timetable on Joel Embiid return to come after surgery completed

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will have surgery on the meniscus in his left knee in the coming days, the team announced Wednesday.

More details, including a timetable, will be announced after the surgery is completed, the Sixers said.

Sources said that Embiid and the Sixers had been exploring treatment options after he suffered a partially torn meniscus and bone bruise in his left knee on Jan. 20 against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Embiid last played in a game on Jan. 27. The 23-year-old appeared in only 31 games this season because of his knee issue and Philadelphia's cautious approach to his workload in response to the two surgeries on Embiid's right foot that cost him his first two pro seasons.

The Sixers initially hoped that surgery would not be necessary on the knee, but a recent scan revealed "a more pronounced tear," according to one source close to the situation.

Embiid was widely considered the NBA's Rookie of the Year favorite until his latest health setback. He was averaging 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in just 25.4 minutes per game this season.

Philadelphia (26-44) was 13-18 this season in games in which Embiid played, despite the fact that Ben Simmons, selected No. 1 overall in the June draft, also is missing his entire rookie season with a fractured right foot.

Russ aka stat Paddington..

Couldn't do that shit against GS after talking shit only to go and get a triple double on the 76ers LMaoo

Thats how his career will go while in OKC. IMO he fucked up by re-upping with them. Just wait til Presti get rid of Adams for more "pieces".

As far as Cleveland goes.....they need to shore up that defense real quick. They still have plenty of time to do so before the playoffs, but them cats coming off the bench can't guard a quadriplegic. Add to the fact only two of your starting five play D, and your superstar taking plays off and getting visibly frustrated on D.

He should have rested them the way they played.... @Amajorfucup explain this shit:hmm: i mean there must be something wrong with them right? :hmm:they do have their whole team; or maybe that comment you made was just for GS:hmm:
I think the difference is their star player isnt having a career slump and string of bad games with rumblings coming from the locker room of something being off. But yea, Cavs defensive issues may be more of a issue than i thought initially. I still think they will address it in the postseason with play and lineups tho.

the nuggets big man, nikola is a freaking beast in the making. dude is a 7 foot point center who can score and play defense. The cat takes over games with his play making, leave him open he will score on you.

Too late in the game and season for that shit breh

Dude is nice. Glad people can see what a versatile center can do in this era.

Been saying it forever. Tired legs will not be the Cavs downfall but it will be the complete lack of defense they have exhibited over the season which has got worse.

Honestly, they are setting themselves up to a possible early exist if the seeding ends up with the Heat getting the 8th spot. I will give the champs the benefit of doubt and say they are just waiting for the season to end.

That Heat team is built to upset the Cavs if their effort does not increase.

If the Heat were in the West prolly be a #1 or #2 seed. Theyve dominated every team over there this year on the low.

 Shit was ugly...

I know Denver plays them tough often but 63 % at one point in the 3rd means the cavs wasn't forcing tough shots...

Cavs shooting wasn't bad just that defense has to be fixed? Just way to many open looks.

They just don't play with any intensity on the defensive end. It's like they want to sleepwalk through the regular season and magically turn shit on for the playoffs. They going to fuck around and get upset if they don't get their minds right.

Defense is bad but I dont think the Heat can beat them; give them a scare yes, but not beat them...
