The thing about rim protection is you don't have to be Mutombo in the box, just good enough to make your oponent especially smaller guards respect you.. Last Cavs game, Jackson came down the middle of the court from top of the key, right in front if Fry for the teardrop lay in.. What's sad is that Fry didn't even jump.
As the result Irving was forced to space out to prevent him from driving, but all that did was open up the deep jumper.
With the right rim protector he would be able to guard against the deep shot and not worry about him driving to the paint.
...this is the reason why i say people shouldn't overreact..injuries will kill teams..Cavs up next?
