Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

I'll miss lopez on the team if the trade goes thru :(

Brook's been a pro's pro throughout his entire career. Been in trade talk throughout his entire career and never wavered his loyalty.

I'll miss the big fella but if we could get a defensive center and good point with the trade, then I won't be too down.

You not rebuilding unless you trade Melo. Otherwise it's not rebuilding.

that's bs. they should've traded him a few years ago if that's the logic. it ain't. he wants him out because he's the chosen fall guy in this situation. not his coaches who stink and have no direction. not his assembling of talent. not his crass way of recruiting players. not the fact that people didn't line up to "kiss the rings" for a chance to "play in new york" just MELO
next 2 years it's going to be porzingas on the block cause it's time to rebuild around big Ron Baker and Kyle O'Quinn

They should've been traded Melo. And he should've been left them. But he didn't and that's on him. I don't feel bad for either party. Phil couldn't let Melo walk and get nothing for him. Now his value is so fucked he has to accept whatever a team is willing to give up.

No. Melo don't have to do shit that's the ultimate point. It don't matter what Phil wants. That's key, important and the best part about all of this. Melo has the power Phil ain't shit and that's the entire reason Phil acted like a bitch and has said and done everything he's done in the media cause he can't control Melo
I don't feel bad for Melo he don't feel bad for himself nor should he. He's a player he gets paid to show up and play his GM is trying to make him the reason he can't do his job so we don't look at his own self as the reason he ain't doing his job.

If Melo was the problem he could've explored a trade in the off season
Not after you assembled some pick-n-pull parts and your car break down so you blame the paint on the parts being all fucked up.

How much power you got when the alternative is to stay in the worst organization in the league? And Melo hurting his legacy staying there. Both just hurting themselves. Melo isn't the problem but one thing is proven is you can't win with him. The Knicks can't anyway. Rebuild and start over. Change the culture.

You can win with him the nuggest did nothing but not miss the playoffs with him and when his mr glass big men (nene/kenyon martin) fucked around and were healthy for a year they went to the wcf
got to the knicks and had the all brittle old man squad that played during the year then broke apart in the playoffs year after year.
he's actually the last person to win a playoff series for the knicks since ewing was on the damn roster.
so if you do put a competent team around him then you can win.
the gm's have been ASS including Phillip.

Question to you bro...

Do you think Porzingas is a centerpiece type player and IYO who's >, Porzingas or Jokic? (I know that question is random as hell tho  )

It's too early to tell if he is or isn't he has to put on weight to even be considered cause right now he ain't so athletic he can take every big man off the dribble and he can't bang in the post.
Jokic is just downright doing his thing nothing nobody can say on that kid other than if he keeps it up they got a cornerstone.

it's new york though so soon as a rookie does SOMETHING then they fire up the hype machine- which I understand. but he been the unicorn this year mostly because he been missing most games.

I'm saying the Knicks can't win with him. Not in this current NBA. Just can't. He's a great scorer but he's not the #1 for a serious contender.

Man when you gotta depend on your center to shoot the 3 cause nobody else on the court can shoot it the gm didn't do his job.
lavine isn't an excuse because you should have more than 1 person on an entire roster who can shoot the 3 from a guard or small forward position.

Exactly... Not only that but if they trade Melo and give the kid that mantle it may ruin him because its too early in his career for that type if pressure.

he is if you have a point guard who is #2
knicks don't pass the ball. that's why they lose in a nutshell
if you can guard 1 on 1 you can beat the knicks soundly.
and it starts from the pg position.

that's what not being picked up off waivers and on a 10 day contract will do for you
wasn't he on the knicks? LOL
Yeah he's been on a bunch of teams I only remember the Kings, Knicks and Cavs but I know there's more. I'm shocked he's even still in the league but he's getting it. Hustle and play defense and you can fit on a contender.

Seems like Wiggins goes extra hard whenevet he plays the Cavs... Nobody in their right mind can say that was not a dumb ass trade... Him growing under LeBron guidance?!?!? :itsawrap:
Dumb ass move by the Cavs GM... :smh:

Wiggins shot well tonight thru 3 quarters but dude gotta learn to impact other areas. 3 boards, 2 assists aint gone cut it for a starting small forward. :smh: Kyle "non factor" Korver came off the bench and grabbed more boards than that. Dude had 2 points in the 4th. He shows flashes of brilliance offensively but is a non factor outside of that. If he's gonna be their guy he's gotta get better all around.

he was playing better under sam mitchell
period
entire team was
i watch them at the midway point and they have no identity on offense or defense

Yea i dont understand why they got rid of him. Wiggins has to be coached up. He needs someone thats really gonna push him because he has potential to be really good. But as it stands, dude is Rudy Gay 2.0.
