Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

also this question is answered in the same post mixd included re: how it works...one of the uses of the ripple currency is almost a last ditch effort for transactions that may not go thru smoothly w/o its use...it's not a necessity but an added benefit as far as the system goes

I don't know that it does or doesn't...that's why I'm curious about it

:giggle:shit, I dont know either; but It would seem that system uses ripple in some capacity; I dont think they are forcing the banks to use ripple but thats ok; if the system with which the banks are using, is using ripples, then it wont matter; and I believe the system is using ripples; It also seems that they would want ripple to be used for a medium of exchange; so if one is exchanging different items, or paying for different things; well then the medium used is ripple; and if thats the case, well then im all in!!!

Yo BGOL, you guys really need to check out what Mixd just posted !!!
Check out that guy on youtube, Crypto Picasso
I just finished watching all his youtube vids (7 vids)
Shit just blew my mind at how precise he gets on the exact price to buy & sell these coins
Yo fellas.....we have a lot more homework to do about this crypto market

:eek2::eek2::eek2:

Did the same and checked his previous trades, and they were on the money. Thanks Mixd! That guys seems to be living the life!

Regarding Ripple, we'll know come spring/summer whether it'll be worth holding. By then, 40+ Japanese banks will implement Ripple in some capacity. If we don't see a jump then, we probably never will. Most analysts don't see it jumping past $1 anyway. Please, don't expect this to be your savior in the same sense bitcoin was.

Actually for a long haul, there's a lot of talk that Monero will be the next Bitcoin. It's being adopted among alot of the underground for the same reasons BTC first was, but was now shown to reveal your identity in the transaction, this Monero is anonymous and does not, which is what they need...

More reason for me to continue mining it lol. Anyone have any luck on anything today?

Was ok, made some change off NSR earlier and jumped on XMR and now am under what I bought it for but holding it with a sell point. I'd even park it in XMR for a few days just to see what next week brings, Monero has been making a lot of buzz in the media.

That was about to be my next move, jumping in XMR but I saw FCT was very low, so i jumped in on that. waiting for it to rise now (hopefully).

Brothers,

I have a lot of Pascal I bought while it's down because it will come up (I believe). It's at -24.27 or so. I am tired and need to sleep, but feel I MAY miss out during the night if starts gaining.

How do I secure a profit if it goes to +1 or +100 even (stop limits I assume).

Please share any wisdom.

Also,

Do you guys think it would be worth the while to start a business LLC or something to write of anything as far as mining. So writing of computer purchases or mining server like https://www.genesis-mining.com which was posted earlier?

Don't look at the 24hr percentage, focus on what you bought it for and what you need to sell it for to profit. Check this vid on how this dude does it

Don't know why you're seeing that, everything is based off of Bitcoin. Did you only place funds into XMR?

Not sure why youre seeing that

Try this I just found

It's only going to gain value from that Darkweb for black market activity on the net. But over all it won't be worth as much as Bitcoin. It would need mass adoption and with the black market stigma, it may not happen. $20o could be the Ceiling IMO. Alpha Bay is the Ebay for black market activity on the web, when they said they would take XMR back in Sept 2106 the price went from $4.00 to $9.00 USD

I can't speak for where he work @ but where I am everything you do online is tracked and recorded

Aka you don't go to bgol.us between classes

That monitoring shit is no joke though. My first job ever was a summer gig in the HR department. To be on the safe side I'll say it happened in the first month, could've been the first week though, but I remember the vp (who is a friend of my father's) had to fire this cat who was there for like 10 years for watching porn A LOT at work on his computer. When he told me what it was for I was just like :eek2: because I'm pretty sure my dumb ass either did or would have logged on to bgol at some point (I was like 16) that summer.

Yeah doubt it would be at the same amounts but it's being used more and more on different places as an alternative to Bitcoin is my point.

It's like $12 now, so bound to grow some.

Alright had to spend time with the family  My wife was looking at me crazy all afternoon while I was learning!

Real quick: I started using those Fibonacci levels to predict trends and I made a small profit on a $200 play on ZEC when it was around 0.039.

I jumped out at 0.045 then it started dipping back to 0.042.

I followed the Crypto Picasso's suggestions and just analyzed high volume / high worth coins and looked for those that were down.

Then I went back in time to the last cycle for that coin and guessed where in the cycle it was currently.

That's how I "hit" on ZEC even though at the time it was down 5%.

Last thing for the night: we should keep our eyes on Litecoin (LTC).

It's down now around 0.0041 which is about $4.

Apparently it's supposed to integrate with SEGWIT and that's supposed to be a major deal.

January 31st is a significant day for some reason.

So based on these facts and the coin's position in the cycle, I think it may be a burner in a few days / weeks.

Their operation is in Iceland where the electricity is cheap and its cold its a win win for them. We would need that kind of hook-up.

I got Contract with genesis-mining.com Here are my Contracts and payouts. If you use the promo "1jibey" you can get 3% off any order. There are 2-year contracts for Alt coins and lifetime contracts for Bitcoin. If you do a credit card transaction they keep your payouts for 30 days to protect from chargebacks, so pay in BTC if you want instant payout to your wallets.

So I have been doing a little reading into what makes ripple go; plus how they are trying to use xrp; From I found a bank would be dumb to implement ripple and not use xrp; check this out: https://ripple.com/insights/ripple-and-xrp-can-cut-banks-global-settlement-costs-up-to-60-percent/; That article below talks about banks using xrp as an asset bridge; It makes more and more sense now; not only will it drive the fees down for banks, they wont have to hold certain currencies in bank accounts, or certain amounts; that frees up more money for banks; they can just hold xrps; they will set the value and then allow investors to run it up; im starting to see it more and more.....

Ripple and XRP Can Cut Banks’ Global Settlement Costs Up to 60 Percent
Feb 23, 2016 | Monica Long

Blockchain makes big promises. Like: distributed financial technologies can dramatically reduce or even disappear settlement costs. We did the math and while Bitcoin and other blockchain systems are a different story, Ripple can save banks up to 60 percent in costs associated with global interbank settlements. The most exciting part of our analysis isn’t the savings. It’s what the savings enables – entirely new, future-forward transactional applications.

Since 2013, we’ve talked about how Ripple lowers the total cost of settlement. Ripple allows banks to transact directly and instantly so they can service payments on demand.

Today, cross-border payments are processed through a chain of banks with each intermediary representing a potential point of delay, failure and cost. Smaller, respondent banks depend on large correspondent banks to provide liquidity for their cross-currency payments. The process requires respondent banks to outlay liquidity in nostro accounts with correspondent banks. Correspondent banking costs make servicing certain types of cross-border payments, like low-value payments, unprofitable for banks.

By matter of enabling instant, point-to-point settlement, Ripple reduces these liquidity requirements. And by matter of providing end-to-end visibility into each settlement, Ripple compresses payment operational costs associated with reconciling exceptions and failures.

In The Cost-Cutting Case for Banks, we analyze the ROI of a representative respondent bank using Ripple. For this type of bank using Ripple as an infrastructure solution, it can save 33 percent in liquidity, Basel III and operational costs.

International Payment Infrastructure Costs
Global Average Cost: 20.9 bps on payment volume

We then examine the cost structure for global interbank payments using XRP, the native digital asset to the Ripple consensus network, as a bridge asset. Like all digital assets, XRP is a store of value that can be transferred between parties anywhere in the world without a central counterparty. Uniquely, XRP can also support liquidity between any two currencies, acting as a bridge asset.

Instead of holding local currency in nostro accounts around the world, banks (or third-party market makers on their behalf) can consolidate their liquidity for global payments into one XRP account, held on their own balance sheets. This singular XRP pool then allows respondent banks to allocate less total liquidity to service the same volume of international payments in three ways:

  • They only have to hold domestic currency and maintain one account with XRP versus many, expensive nostro accounts around the world.
  • They only need enough XRP on hand to service their largest expected payment obligations, freeing previously trapped liquidity idling in nostro accounts around the world. XRP allows banks to access liquidity on demand.
  • By making markets directly between their domestic currencies and XRP, banks minimize the number of intermediaries involved and their markup on spreads.

As a result, respondent banks that use Ripple with XRP as a bridge currency can save up to 42 percent on costs today and up to 60 percent as XRP gains usage and volatility decreases. To accelerate market thickness and reduce volatility for XRP, Ripple will soon introduce an XRP incentive program to algorithmically rebate market makers who provide liquidity through XRP.

By matter of rewiring the world’s financial plumbing so transactional costs are a step change lower, distributed financial technology makes the currently impossible or improbable both possible and profitable. In the world of payments, a technology solution like Ripple and XRP creates unprecedented cost-efficiency and global reach, so banks can profitably serve use cases like global disbursements, international cash pooling, low-value remittances and even micropayments. Beyond payments, this same model of using Ripple and XRP can free billions of dollars currently trapped in collateral accounts or absorbed as costs in any other financial market from repo to derivatives.

The prescient banker doesn’t look at how she can make incremental improvements to today’s systems with blockchain technology, but how she can adopt today to position her bank to survive and thrive through the evolutionary change already underway.

Stay tuned on new developments with XRP at the XRP Portal.
