****Chrisette Michele Reportedly Will Perform At Trump's Inauguration****

She got 750K to do that gig. I hope Questlove is ready to shell that out.

That's it??

250K actually. Shes performing at one of tonight's Inaugural balls

Sources told us that when Michele reached her agreement with Team Trump last week, she'd committed to doing an “R&B set” after plans to do an ensemble gospel number fell through because other singers being pursued by event organizers wouldn't take the gig.

It may open up future opportunities to go?

I'm not keeping for her, I think all of these foods are scandalous for supporting Trump, but 750k is a grip. I don't agree with it but I can dog on sure why she took it!

The way I look at it is this: 750K is a nice come up, but once you get certain tags for accepting that type of money it's difficult to shake it. Her career is based on public acceptance more than mine is. (I have a desk job) So this is definitely going to fuck up her future more than mine. Didn't someone say she had a Netflix deal fall through and radio stations backballed her?

The kinda community that cuts you off and won't let you go thank the supposed enemy is full of shit

That's the world we live in.

I saw an article that said 750 too

https://madamenoire.com/783089/how-...k-enough-for-you-to-perform-for-donald-trump/

But I think these articles are getting it from some of the same sources so it's whatever.

I doubt its 750k...but im sure its over 6 figures. Like I mentioned earlier....she aint getting that type of money for a show nor a feature.
So she's mainly doing it for a check....not because she a die hard fan/supporter.

A lot of folks will remember her for being the Black Woman who performed for Trump, but most will forget. The outrage is temporary. Once Superbowl weekend starts....or some other events happens...most folks will be distracted, once again, and all will be forgotten.

Dude she's worth less than a mill... I'm all about paying your bills Bruh... You're absolutely correct though. Also, its really easy to stand in judgement in a case like this, when you aren't the one who has to make the decision you feel me?

750k?

LOLOOLOL.

Shit, if that's true, I don't know ..... I don't even know if I'm be mad if she sung the song with that same helmet Jerry Rice wore with the rotisserie fried chicken.

Maybe I'm wildin'. I'll probably change my mind later. Just didn't know they were handing out slices of cake that damn big.

we'll see but i think is gonna stick with her and career maybe effectively.

Her career peaked awhile back but she still appealed to core BLACK fan who enjoyed her soulful conscience music. In my area most of her performances are the AC House of Blues or BB kings in ny.

i can see those being done with.
i hope it was worth it cause outside of residual income from previously realeased that check could be her early retirement check.

Nah... its atleast that. Like i been saying.... they were waaaaaaay under budget for entertainment. The money had to be spent and they were scrambling for talent to book. Easily her biggest payday ever.

would you blow off ten dudes for a paycheck? after all , its money, bills got to be paid, right?

It's called dignity. She was not missing meals and she had a roof over her head. This was greed, plain and simple, disguised as something else. And the worst part about it is that she fucks up future money with the performance. I hope she has a good retirement plan with a couple hundred K. lol. she better live in a third world cuz that aint shit.

Exactly. They'll forget and back to business as usual. Black women online are already giving her a pass.

gay mafia ain't forgetting shit and they pretty much run her industry

the boycott of Trump ain't for us - its gay environmental feminists and ultra liberals

I'm looking at it from her perspective. Thats more money than anybody is offering her to do anything . . . for years, and she's clearly down. As I've said on this forum many time, I made it my business years ago to commit to finding an opportunity that was not only lucrative, but also sustainable over the long term. I did not want to be put in position to do something I didn't want to because I needed bread.

I don't know her situation, but I can imagine 750k is a lot of bread to Chrisette in 2016.

Ultimately she has to deal with the consequences of it, but thats a choice for her. Lets not act like her performing at that inauguration would have profound effects on the black community going forth.

I've seen people on this forum come to the defense of drug dealers for the choices they made, and we know the impact that the drug trade has had on our communities. But, somehow, singing for the new president is unforgivable? I'm guilty myself of the inconsistency, but we have to ask ourselves are we being consistent before we throw somebody under the bus.

Chrisette Michele performs at Donald Trump’s Liberty Ball
image.jpeg

Chrisette Michele was all smiles as she performed at the Liberty Ball Friday night, one of three official events celebrating the inauguration of Donald Trump.

The Patchogue native energetically performed “Intentional” with Travis Greene and a gospel choir at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, where members of the public who landed a $50 ticket could get a chance to see the Trumps. Dressed in a black top and a dramatic patterned skirt, Michele was seemingly unaffected by early sound issues in her performance or the controversy that has greeted her since word of her involvement with the inauguration leaked out.

Director Spike Lee said he was no longer considering using Michele’s song “Black Girl Magic” in his Netflix series “She’s Gotta Have It” after her decision. Countless fans wrote on social media that they would no longer support Michele’s career. However, after her performance some on Twitter said they were now fans having heard her music for the first time.

Michele, who can already claim a Grammy, a No. 1 album “Epiphany” and collaborations with Jay Z, Rick Ross and Ne-Yo in her career, posted a statement on her Rich Hipster website saying that she accepted the invitation to be part of the inauguration because she is “willing to be a bridge” between battling groups in America.

“I don’t mind ‘These Stones,’ if they allow me to be a voice for the voiceless,” she wrote, after seeing the controversy unfold. “I am here, representing you, because this is what matters.”
