that'd be interesting...be even doper if I could store movies on the XB1 hard drive...would pretty much eliminate my need for the shield

I do have Win 10, but I have a content filter (OpenDNS by Cisco) on my router that blocks sites with known viruses, adware, or malware. clkde.tradedoubler.com has adware.

You can just link right to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/kodi/9nblggh4t892 without clkde.tradedoubler.com being in the link.

On a side note, for parents, OpenDNS is a great way to block stuff on your home network, even on Tablets and Cell phones.

No it isn't.

Microsoft approached the team and asked if they wanted assistance in getting the app in the Windows store so they could be used as an example of how easy it was to convert apps for the store using the new Desktop Bridge technology. It's just the same as getting the executable from Kodi.tv, except the store version auto updates and it's slightly more cleaner for the system since it does not enter information in the registry.

That's why I say it's different.

Through pc with win 7 I had exe files. With my laptop when I added it went through Microsoft Store


I know its not a different program just different method to install

It's not so much Kodi itself, by itself it is just a nice media player for a PC connected to your TV to play Music and Video files.

What really makes Kodi nice is its ability to add add-ons which are released by 3rd party groups to allow access to TV Shows and Movies streams. There is many groups that make there own installers for these add-ons (fusion, beast, etc...). Here is the instructions for Fusion
