Discussion: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - confirmed Sam Raimi directing UPDATE: REVIEWS!

When Black Panther is ready to come out they will protest it because of the name alone.

They are going to have to call it "Marvel Studios Black Panther" or something like that.

i will be watching this very closely as we get closer and closer to release

To me this is my top 5 Marvel Movies:
  1. Winter Solider
  2. Avengers
  3. Doctor Strange
  4. Civil War
  5. Guardians of the Galaxy

For me it's:
  1. Avengers
  2. Civil War
  3. Winter Soldier
  4. Guardians of the Galaxy
  5. Doctor Strange

people treat Incredible Hulk like a stepchild. I enjoyed it.
Winter Soldier
Civil War
GOTG
Incredible Hulk
Ant Man

i do expect Black Panther to take over one of these spots as well as Thor Ragnarok, since we will finally have a Thor movie that wont center around a relationship.

1. Avengers
2. Winter Soldier
3. Guardians
4. Iron Man 1 (i find it hard to believe that anyone would like Dr Strange more then IM 1, which is THE standard for origin movies)
5. Ant Man

1. Avengers
2. Winter Soldier
3. Guardians
4. Iron Man 1 (i find it hard to believe that anyone would like Dr Strange more then IM 1, which is THE standard for origin movies)
5. Ant Man
I just like the fact that marvel movies are all solid across the board; and they can stand alone or be joined together; Black Panther better do 200 mill just off the strength of blacks though...

Doctor Strange Passes Iron Man To Become Marvel Studios' Highest-Grossing Single Character Debut Ever

Is Doctor Strange the new poster boy for the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The box office numbers suggest that may be the case. Doctor Strange has now passed Iron Man at the box office to become Marvel Studios’ highest-grossing solo hero debut movie of all time.

After just one month at the box office, Doctor Strange has earned $616 million worldwide. That passes the $585 million lifetime total of the original Iron Man, the Marvel Studios film that gave birth to the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to being a milestone forDoctor Strange, that’s quite the measurement of just how far Marvel Studios has come and how much the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown over the past eight years.

Since we’re keeping score, Iron Man is now Marvel Studios’ second highest grossing single character debut movie. Last year’s Ant-Man claims second place on that list with $518 million. Thor, released in 2011, comes in third with a lifetime total of $449 million. Captain America: The First Avenger, released the same year, comes in fourth with $371 million. The Incredible Hulk rounds out the list with $263 million, though technically the character of the Hulk debuted on film in 2003’s Hulk, which made even less at $245 million. However, that film is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon.

While Doctor Strange is the new high for Marvel Studios debuts, it is not the high mark for Marvel characters in general. Sony’s original Spider-Man, released in 2002, still holds that honor with a lifetime global box office total of $822 million. For more, check out ComicBook.com’s list of the highest grossing comic book movies ever.

Doctor Strange’s debut may have bested Iron Man’s, but Iron Man’s box office only grew with repeat appearances. Iron Man 2 grossed $624 million worldwide and Iron Man 3managed a whopping $1.2 billion. Doctor Strange will likely have a chance to prove himself. After all, if Ant-Man can get a quickly greenlit sequel, Doctor Strange 2 seems like a safe bet.

In Marvel's Doctor Strange, Dr. Stephen Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.

Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson, and written by Derrickson, Jon Spaihts, and C. Robert Cargill, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton.

I enjoyed Incredible Hulk,also...For,whatever reason it never get mentioned as the other movies, even though it was the second movie in the MCU.

I thought the trend would end I was only thinking of the proper name 'Eye of agomoto' and not what it is.

I'm happy the names of the gem's still can spell out Thanos!

Ok I know Vision has the soul gem but how did it go from Heidmall to Vision? Has the reality gem showed up yet?

No vision has the mind gem that was originally in loki's scepter.

The soul gem is the only one that has not been revealed. There is speculation that hemdail may possess the soul gem do to his ability to 'see' any soul in the nine realms.

The reality gem was the aether featured in Thor 2.

It only made 200 in the country.
Only 200 mill:giggle::hmm:; For a November movie, not summer, that's introducing a brand new character, 200 mill is excellent; think about how many movies the last 2 years didn't hit 100 mill; what about the "blockbusters" that didn't hit 200; and you said you didn't think it would hit 100 mill; and total 630 plus world wide:yes: in November: dude stop hating.....

I said they wouldn't do $150 million combined. Strange did 90, so I presume black panther is going to do 60.

The movie cost $200 million to make.

You didnt think both movies would do 150 together?:hmm: If that is what you are saying thats even more unbelievable than not doing 100mill; 160 mill to make and its done 635mill total world wide; Panther will do 200 mill as well, book it....

Open. Open. Open.

I still maintain that the comic book market has dried up. Black panther is not even a $200 million movie.

Panther will do numbers. The only thing that can fuck up black Panthers money is if they do a hit job on it like they did with birth of a nation.

I disagree. As a person who didn't watch tv until I moved to this country, I know movies. Let's see how the first trailer looks.

the one thing this movie has going for it, is that BP was introduced early, and its connected to MCU. And people know it will play a pivotal part. If they had just thrown this out there like they did with Guardians, it would not have been as popular as it will be. It'll do good numbers. I already plan on seeing it twice. Once alone, and once with the family.
