Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Bottom line, Durant will be playing the Love, Bosh, Barns roll, being stuffed in the corner waiting for the kick out and will usually be the forth man touching the ball after Curry, Thompson and Green...
The reason why these players numbers and % drop so low, is because its virtually impossible for rhythm shooters to stay on point with very few touches and shots.. Thats why they have specialist in the NBA who specialize in this type of shooting...

The problem is KD and Thompson will be playing redundant rolls in the pick and roll, both spotting up waiting for the dish... In my opinion both Thompson and Curry are much better outside shooters than Durant and for Durant to get those shots it will be a lot better than any of the splash brother taking it...
So if I was playing the Warriors I would try to bait the Warriors to forcing Durant to take the outside shots...
As far as having Durant come down with the ball and having Green set the pick and roll the way he does with Curry, again Curry is a better shooter, better ball handler and makes better decisions passing the ball, so that too will be a de-grade, also keep in mind the Warrior feast when the big man is force to rotate on Curry during these pick and roll switch off, go back the OKC series when Curry torched the Thunder when ever Durant or Adams was forced to guard him off the switch off... Do that with Green and the difference is not that pronounced, due to Green defender usually is the same type of guy who could defend against Durant so there would be very little mismatch in the switch off..
Lastly the problems the Warriors had with the Cavs is that their big men were able to match up vs Curry during these switch off, due to them being better perimeter defenders, so in that case switching the man guarding Durant with Love or Thompson will not be that big of a deal...

Bump:lol:

KD has fire power when he shoots or has his hand on every other possestion, but with this team there are going to be times where he will sit around not touching the ball for 8 or 9 mins... My question is how motivated and into the game is he going to be, under those situations... The thing about roll players they learn to do so much off of the ball..
Even players like J.R. Smith and Kevin Love, there may be spells where thy don't touch the ball for quarters, and yet when the ball is passed to them they have to be ready to fire and hit, even if they do not make their shot JR plays tough defense and Love helps out on the boards and the long outlet passes...
I just don't see Durant sitting around being productive, plus being a rhythm shooter he needs his touches in order to be productive..

:roflmao:

Remember I am the same guy who said no to a Love for Durant hypothetical trade, due to the fact that both players would be forced to hide on at the wings for long periods of time, with out touches... But in Love case at least he will be grabbing rebounds and not just daydreaming..

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
Durant basically has put himself in a Robert Horry, Steve Kerr, Derrick Fisher and James Jones shoes where even if he were to win multiple wins, you cannot say he is better than any of the greats due to it not being his team..
For example even when LeBron was on the Heat, all the final MVP's and regular season MVP's went to LeBron, he was the alpha male on every team he played on..
Durant on the other hand 4th wheel roll on a team that already broke the record for most wins ever, will get as much daps as those guys I just mentioned...
This is why nobody in their right mind would ever claim that Robert Horry was better than Kobe and Jordan even though he has more rings....
And this is why the more rings argument is also silly..

Fact remain, that the Warriors have two choices either ask Durant to play the roll of a roll player, that means take ten shots a game, or ask his high % superstars to allow a lower % superstar to take away their shots... Frankly as a coach I would rather Durant shoot at his .483 clip than have Curry, Thompson or Green shoot....

Unless someone can present an argument that suggest they know ways that having Durant will actually increase shots, then its just mathematics and pie splitting...

Man players putting up huge numbers early in the season. It's nothing to see 40 point games.

It's kinda crazy that KD's defense improved in the GS system and he has become unstoppable when he's playing off the ball :smh:

It's funny when players do the hold me back on their own...Thabo

and Embiid with the flop and smile

The Warriors, holy shit. You would think the game went in to triple overtime with the 149 points

They shut it down in the 4th. If not the could have scored about 170

Maaan fuck RoadRage I truly hate that old faggit with a passion. Where that old bitch at to drop his analysis of the season so far? Bitch be quick to talk shit then goes MIA when his old ass delirious assessments go null and void. Happy thanks bruhs

Mofo stays quiet and missing; I think him and @KingTaharqa are cousins:hmm::giggle:

Just one game but good showing.
Keep the defensive intensity up and things will be decent.
Nah, this started with the 1st game bills; This is just them getting better and better; and they still can improve on both ends; this team could average 135 plus easily if they wanted to; Kerr is actually coaching better as well; I think he needs to find Looney more playing time though; I really dont think West needs that much playing time since hes a veteran; But I like what Kerr is doing finally; And hes not showing much strategy yet either which is good; keeps teams from game planning against them; the funny thing is @KingTaharqa hates mj so much, but he loves the way teams played in the 70s and 80s; yet LBJ and the Cavs play like MJ; where as GS plays the way the purest and those teams played; Kinda ironic isnt it:hmm:; Another reason why Barkley is ignorant as fuck; But after the All Star break look out; team is gonna be :eek2::smh:; Ask @Amajorfucup he already sees it.......

Love is playing well; I like it; finally hitting his grove; It will be interesting to see how he plays against the better teams
They finally working him in. Lue can get credit for that. Plus, having a ring already takes a lot of fucking pressure off. Love putting up damn near 22 and 11 and is playing within the flow of the team.

Kerr is coaching better. He's actually using the other bigs.. McGee is being worked in there and he's perfect for what we need him to do.. much of nothing.. catch lobs, grab boards, contest shots.
Zaza is grabbing boards and he's learning how to pass in the system.
Offensively I was never worried.. we can go back and dig up everything, pretty much everything I said is what's happening offensively.
Curry,Thompson,Durant didn't take 20 shots last night..
The offense is the offense, when they TRULY run it, then it's tough to stop because it ain't about setting up 3s it's about getting the best shot, and when they get the best shot and it happens to be a 3, it goes in at a higher clip.
Durant has had more wide open jumpers this season than he's had in his entire career lol

Thats the thing man... A certain long winded poster here wrote canons about Durant not fitting in and just standing around based on this dumb ass premise...
Dudes skillset was/is PERFECT for the personnel and the system Kerr runs, which is why, even when they were 'getting adjusted' he was STILL killing fools...

The way this team is set up, if they can continue to get improvement from their role players, especially the bigs, they are going to be a HUGE problem... Already are actually... :smh:

everything after the 34 was icing on the cake. he already did a games worth with 34 in the 1st
to me he had an incredible game even if he ended with 35 points total.
Yeah, it's just as crazy as when KT did the shit. I was like  both times. Don't see how anyone can shit on such a performance. It's just nice to see him catching his groove with the team. He's actually playing like the character that Lebron thought he was getting a few years back.

I know you have but i just thought the defense would be fine; that's all about effort and positioning, that's it; people act like GS is small, but they really not; they are tall and long; they just need to be active; but i also knew because of last year, they will not give maximum effort until 2nd half of season; last year ruin them and also they believe they can outscore anyone:giggle:;plus like you said when they run the offense no one can stop them and they know that as well; and just looking at matchups, man ain't no one matching up with them.....
