1st Molly.
Dissed ol boy cause he wasn't socially acceptable enough for you even though he was a good genuine dude interested in you. Then you get into the league and scare dudes off talking about future plans after 1 weekend.
Dude was in a lose situation either way. If he says its too fast he's an asshole. If he goes with it he's leading her on. If he does what he did she is mad at him. He just couldn't win.
Then you try to go see the dude again and expect him to just be like oh yea I was waiting on you.. smh. Lucky he's kindhearted and didn't make you leave.

Issa...you ain't shit.
Damn I was rooting for you too but you wrong you wrong you wrong.
Lawrence was given that SAME opportunity and did the right thing. That teller is ON HIM. but. he didn't take it..
You had multiple chances to not fuck dude but did anyway then when you look at the soap dispenser suddenly you remember you have a loyal dude..
well we'll see how this plays out. If she'll even tell him.

Yo Issa dude need to go on ahead and smash that thick joint for real...Damn.

he don't know. he's doing the right thing. he didn't smash even though she clearly wants to. its on issa now though. we'll see how she handles it. either she'll come clean or she'll act guilty.. or she'll pick a fight and end it so she can be with other dude cause that's where she wants to be (if she picks the fight) and leave lawrence feeling like it just ended out of the blue.

Man so i'm just seeing this thread and jumped onto the last page and people think this show is male bashing? I don't see it that way at all. Relationship wise this is probably one of the realest shows i've seen on TV. It brings that same realness that made Atlanta enjoyable. I'm loving where TV is going. I just hope it keeps going there.

I didn't think Issa would go through with that shit. Ol' boy better knock down that chic that's coming on to him. She's clearly ready. He can play dumb if he wants too. My cat been the victim. He's trying to get his life right and put himself on the back burner for their relationship and he still got cheated on. HE owe it to himself to knock her down.

she chose option #2 overcompensating like a motherfucker. he noticed she was off cause he's a good attentive boyfriend and he also trusts her so he took her word.
she came in crying over stuff, cooking him breakfast out of the blue all the signs are there but you can't see it when you're in it because you're trying to reconnect.
that text didn't say anything other than they're not talking so that's pretty good to keep the lie alive. molly with the fucked up but true advice friends would give..

and i don't blame molly for not being with ol boy after learning his secret.. some shit.. you just can't move past.. it's always there.
though it is true about the double standards for black men and what we can and cannot be.
unfortunately i subscribe to those double standards because i don't know any better.

Naw the logic was stupid.

Basically white people do it and its no big deal so black men should too.

Also, unrealistic as fuck, ain't no dude telling a woman that. Shitty writing there to just get that point across.

I always like to think about the underlying message of whatever I'm watching or reading, and I'm just not feeling it.

That wasn't the sole logic, just the opinion of one person. I thought they kept it real with the double standard.

I do agree with you about how unrealistic he casually spoke about that experience like that wasn't some off the wall shit.

People are different. His character has been consistent since being on that show. I could see someone admiring that in 2016. In his mind it was nothing to hide.

it was perfect context. they were trying to out wild each other.. he felt comfortable with her she shared her girl on girl experience, she pressed him and he said what he said.

disagree with this. some people share. he's always been open, honest, direct and not playing games with her. she appreciated it until she got too much information but that's who he is. he don't seem like the dude that goes around talking about it but not hiding it either honestly.
he didn't think it was a big deal at all (though it is lol) so i can see why he would share, he ain't ashamed of it. he treated it like an experience like molly did. he felt the same exact way about it but it was treated completely different.. as they showed.

Right. It was a perfect set up IMO. Great writing. His character has had this whole nonchalant attitude from jump. And she admired that shit. She admired his honesty which is why she kept coming back and IMO, she's gonna come back again o him. She wanted his personality and someone honest like him and its the same thing she's having a problem dealing with.

Exactly she just needs to hope that he takes her back. But you could see, if he's chummy with some guy she auto goes to does he like him? Which is a natural reaction. She should've just said she needs some time to deal with it instead of always abruptly ending the shit.
Its officially a game now and he's made it clear he ain't into games.

I actually agree with you. Dude has been consistent since episode one about saying what's on his mind. I could see him saying something like that and thinking ol girl would understand because she comes across as a modern woman.

Right. He's overestimated her to this point.

I hear you but sheeshhh. Man talked like it really was nothing

Some would. I wouldn't. but it's a larger point about us not all bring the same.

Lawrence ain't a trifling dude like ppl in here were trying to say. he was in a rut like me and a few others mentioned.

Ol boy is a good dude who felt comfortable sharing with molly after literally taking her in lol.

Even the blood on the show is raising his daughter

I get the feeling that some of the segments of last's night episode was done solely to spark a buzz on social media or start discussions on message boards, personally I didn't find the interaction between Jared and Molly to be realistic at all. I'm dumb or blind to think that people are not out there sexually experimenting and doing all types of things that would be considered socially unacceptable but I have to say, modern woman or not, we're still black and certain attitudes and opinions aren't about to change any time soon. Despite me finding the segment to be unrealistic, I did find Molly's reaction to be very real, even to the point that she stopped him and threw him out while he was eating her pussy.

Besides that segment. The entire episode was pretty damn good. I'm harping back on old relationships like damn, did my woman cheat on me when she was overly nice/emotional that time:lol:

I dated a guy once who mentioned that he contemplated letting a dude suck him off...and, that was the end of things LOL

Seriously, though, I just couldn't deal with thinking about that shit if things got serious. Like, if you seriously contemplated that shit, you're a homo, on the low low. He was a few years younger than me, so I chucked it up to this new fuckboy shit men are dealing with...meh!

I agree with you completely lol.

That's how I saw it. I saw it as the struggle women have: one guy that represents all they claim to want intellectually, the other checking the superficial boxes. The qualities you listed are what dude has, but that comes with a catch & in this case...it's his past. Can the woman overlook the bad?? She's picked wrong so many times...we'll see.

:smh:

Yea and I understand wanting to try and get over it and accepting it but in this case I side with Molly not overlooking it because it's just how I was brought up

I'm secure enough with my sexuality to say ol girl tripping and just refuse to be happy like a lot of black women.

Have I ever thought about shit like that hell no. But I understand sexual exploration especially when you are young.

A drunk night he let some one go down on him and he immediately said that shit ain't for him.

You got niggas out here getting thumbs in the but and other shit by hoes and that is acceptable?

He was open enough to tell a shameful secret to her and that's how she reacted just shows that she ain't the one for him. Move on.
