Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

So... until then just disregard the issues? Not say anything? C'mon Bruh, you are a highly intelligent Dude so you know good and fucking well thats not how this shit works Bruh!

These games count so, what, if they have a few losses and figure it out, the league should delete these games because they were learning how to play together?

nope not at all
not disregard anything
just preface it with they need to figure this or that out. that's all
somebody pm'd me and asked how come i didn't make an official warriors thread

i said because the nba thread is the official warriors thread.

Man. This dude Westbrook went supreme fuck it mode tonight and went 17/144. Straight 39% shooting. Two for 10 from the arch. All with a triple double.

That's like unlimited turbo button shit on NBA Live '03.
WESTBROOK (51pts/13rebs/10asts) = first player with a 50+ point triple double since.. Kareem (01/19/1975) 50p/15r/11a

Nah management needs to surround him with players that complement his style of play..

I would hope the moves would come quickly and make a real splash, this is two games in and the league is taking notice and I can see him growing tired of this shit much faster than Chris Paul.

I always caped for Steph as an underrated defender, but seeing how a Dude who is 1 year removed from 10 day contracts and the D-League giving him a double double tonight, I'm not so sure about that anymore :smh:

No need; All they have to do is be engage and play; cut down turnovers, they will be good; This KD thing is gonna work out perfectly for them...

yea sloppy play
but defensively they don't know where each other is going to be like they did last year

last year we saw year 2 of everything. the system the people the rotations etc.
that was the point.
they're not going to look the same with a new crop of players as they did last year when they could win on auto pilot it was actually a machine.

They need to be patient and build correctly, don't worry about trying to win today or mortgaging the future for some overpriced superstar, they need to get their type of players and when the time is right they will get that superstar to put them over the top..

As it should be... so preface should be translated 'cop pleas'. Until they 'figure it out' the reality is, you are judged by your last performance... What if they don't figure it out? What if they end up with 30 losses and a 4th seed? I believe they will right the ship but its not a guarantee. Also, the GLARING difference in the make up of their team, and how soft they are after say the 7th man wont change. Theyve gutted this team to put this unit together Bruh, so 4 of them will HAVE to play consistently at an elite level or else they are going to be in trouble against more complete deep teams...

Curry and Thompson were off tonight. Shot distribution was in line with what i thought

Barnes gets the same shot attempts as durant he has 17 points.
durant has 30

i don't think so
backlash too great. everyone cancels everyone out

funny as fuck ppl like well steph can't win anymore mvps like oh nooooooooooooo he's stuck at 2 that nobody but his momma ever thought he'd ever get haha
Shit is stupid and hilarious at the same time; by the way bro, I was in your city last week; was telling Truth that; ate at Sweet Maple and Fog Harbor Grill and also went to Sky View among other shit:giggle:

So what do you think about Buddy Hield?

They will eventually just not right now; But again I think them winning 73 games and not winning the chip hurt them as far as regular season; they play like this shit dont mean nothing right now; And I think that lends to their sloppy play and not caring on the defensive end at times...

Nah.

keep analyzing though.

offensively they'll be fine. they're off still and put up 122 with mediocre performances.

4 of them don't have to play at an elite level they just need to tighten it up defensively
and imo probably start someone else other than zaza
let's see if a team will help us out like they helped that other team out when the team wasn't working the way they wanted it to haha

probably not huh

Totally agree with this Bruh...

little things.
green doesn't know how to throw durant the alley oop yet
it's either way too low or way too high they gotta get that together for easy buckets
but main thing is defensively they need to know where each other is going to be on the court.
once they figure that out things will be better. and that comes with time. so we'll see.

GS bench isnt bad, thats a misnomer; they just havent settled it yet; still have iggy and shaun; West replaces MO so that no drop off; Ian and McGaw will replace Barbosa; they just havent found someone to replace Festus yet; They do that they will be fine with bench production...

He will be mentioned just because of who he is, but he wont win it... 114 points tonight too chief :D
Points dont mean nothing; Pace will always dictate more points; Doesnt mean defense wasnt being played; its the defensive efficiency that counts and points per possession....

Durant had 30pts 17 rebs 6 assist 2steals 2 blocks

Against the Spurs he had 27pts 12 rebs 5 assist 3 steals 2 blocks

If he keeps those stats up, along with the Warriors winning big, I think he becomes the front runner for the MVP. Especially if he takes over games to pull out wins

Nope.
He won't be in the conversation. That was settled when the ink was dry on the deal. Gotta deal with it and work hard to get a ring.

he won't win it he has no chance. he won't be in the conversation
the hate is just through the roof at this point.

Thats not a good look for you bruh... too early in the season to get on that soapbox fam. I'm speaking from common sense, it's like an election. You have 2 players who are both all world on the same team, which means they are either going to steal votes from each other OR the team will be looked at as so good their stats will be looked at different as someone in a different situation with similar stats. Last season was so historic and Steph was clearly the most electric player on the team so him winning MVP was a no brainer.

They will always be compared to last years team, so, if they are not as good record or dominance wise, WITH KD now on the team, all of that shit will work against him winning MVP...

Now stop it... got me RoadRaging again, you know damn well what I'm saying Bruh

You did see NO starting line up didn't you... Under NO circumstances should THAT team score THAT many points and the game be THAT close... when you have to start digging in to that level of granularity against THIS NO team, it validates completely my point that their defense was ass tonight....

Thats why I said after the first 7 (iggy and Livingston), the other people you named haven't proven themselves, so until they do, they are ass IMO, no benefit of the doubt here. West, WAS good, but now, hes 'servicable' but I don't expect much from a 40 year old... and he doesn't know what to do with McGee yet...

I'm not on a soapbox I just listened to the NBA TV analyst after 2 games say there is no way anyone from the warriors can be in the conversation for the MVP regardless lol
This ain't my opinion. They literally just discussed no warrior can be the mvp this team is the villain and do you respect durant. that was the entire segment not even the game or who did what
it started with "they won but.."
you can catch the replay to verify it haha
it's not how i personally feel.

And again. last season was a result of the 1st season.
the 1st year is when they figured everything out rotation wise everyone knows their roles and their minutes which is why they could survive without kerr because the team ran on autopilot
this team has to find it's way and it must win while they find it's place.

i don't feel any kind of way about the expectations. I'm not worried about that. last year everyone took joy in the L and still do after spending the entire year not respecting the year before

ive made my peace with it. ill respond to stuff and ill ignore stuff i know when it hit 0:00 99% of the niggas talking shit on the warriors behalf hurt their hamstrings hopping off to the other side to praise lebron.
so none of this shit worry me. im certified.

Guys play above their heads all the time; GS will get that every night because they signed KD; what did that one dude from the Spurs score like 20; what did he score against the Kings, like 5; Kings play great defense, un no; so again GS and Cavs will get teams best shot; thats the way it goes; now if this was a series, it would be alot different...

keep in mind the warriors bench was made up of niggas that was left for dead including iggy and livingston. so let's give them a chance to prove themselves and see what they can do
niggas wasn't saying mo speights was a good signing haha

Honestly, (you typed your ass off their too bruh  ), people can be objective without 'hating' as you guys like to say. So far, GS has gotten their asses kicked by SA and was in a way too close game with a damn D League team in NO (besides AD), that is gonna be over analyzed Bruh, AND, conventional wisdom does point to factors that will make it more difficult for ANY of the Warriors to be seriously considered for MVP.... Thats just common sense Bruh, and hate has nothing to do with it.

Difference is, in a close game against an elite team, GS will NEED one of the bench guys to play over their heads, SA doesn't NEED that, AND, Simmons 20 was not as impressive as it could have been, because SA beat the fuck out of GS so a lot of his points had no pressure attached to them. If he scored 20 in a close nip and tuck type game I'd buy that theory.
