Its a common mistake I see people make all the time, trying to equate facts with beliefs and fact-less opinions... Until I see a city powered by voodoo lighting bolts (or what ever) or planes flying with the power of opinions, that shit has no place when talking about reality... The thing that separates science from opinions and religion is that it has practical applications in the physical world..

But you see what she said, "From an African PERSPECTIVE......". Just like in that other thread your confusing perspective with facts. If in her perspective she can see higher dimensions and have a completely different understanding of what gravity is and someone comes along and says "No from my perspective based on science I say your reality does not exsist." The only factual reality is the one you believe in. So all reality really is is just a belief system. If you believe in a certain limitation you never go past it out of fear or just not knowing another possibility exist. This is the moral of the movie The Village.
Anyone can have an perspective but if you cannot put those perspectives into real applications then they are just opinions and beliefs...
Put it this way, if you were on a plane and both the pilot and co-pilot died, and you had to choose between a person who actually took up flying and a person who believes or from their perspective could fly, who would you choose and why??

if you don't have a foundation, like basic knowledge of the evidence the theory is based on, thats not good... you'll believe anything that sounds good or aligns with preconceived personal beliefs.
