Your POTUS: Kaepernick should think about pain he could cause with protest

read his complete statement.

I did.
At worst the number of people in the actual Military support Kaepernick is split because that is the freedom that they died for and fight for him to have.
The people who hide behind the military aren't thinking about losing loved ones when the national anthem is played just like nobody is thinking about unarmed black people getting mowed down in the streets when the anthem is played.

And to top it off he says May THINK they were UNFAIRLY shot
So there's a chance that these murders were fair?

thats a bad way to hear what he said.

what i heard him say is: if i think my family member was unfairly shot, you need to listen to me.

cause thats how it was phrased by the pres: "But I also want people to think about the pain that he may be expressing about somebody who's lost a loved one that they think was unfairly shot."

if i think my loved one was unfairly shot, it DOES NOT MEAN they MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN. it means THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS.

I get it now.

It has all become clear.

You exemplify the individual Barack was speaking to when he said it'd be an insult to his legacy if we don't vote for Hillary.

Your perspective on what Barack says and does is a lot different than many other black people.

And, that can be said without mentioning Military Families and what they feel when they see someone kneeling for the anthem.
We need to listen to the pain they are expressing in situations where they might feel a loved one was unfairly shot.
Those military families get respect. They get benefits after loved ones died. They get their loved ones remembered as heroes and get buried with the stripes and stars. THEY GET THAT.

The other families though... their loved ones are remembered and reported by the media like....

there is absolutely nothing wrong with the President's presentation of his thoughts nor the content of his thoughts.

you're reaching like plastic man on this one.

Yeah I don't get the issue here.... His statement makes perfect sense to me.

What is dude supposed to do... Stand up and be 100% militant. Dude is the leader of the free world. Man we just jump on anything these days.

He Could Have Just Remained Silent and If Asked Said It Is Kaepernick's Right to Do So As an American, Or Said He Has No Comment

Black people always have to be understanding. Always.

I vividly recall black people, during his first campaign, talking about demands we need to make of Barack, and black people getting really upset. That happened on this very forum. The only thing many black people cared about was getting their symbol of hope and change in the White House. They seemed to care a lot less about actual change, tho'.

I remember motherfuckers saying they'd actually DIE for Barack if need be. You'd die for someone who hasn't promised you anything specific and you're not demanding anything specific?

I don't understand motherfuckers at all.

No one else gives a fuck about who Barack offends if he's standing behind their agenda. But, for us? Nah. He can't be pro-black, but he can damn sure be pro-woman and pro-gay, tho'.

But, I'm over you dudes. I'm thoroughly convinced that at least a third of the reason why we're in the fucked up position we're in is because of niggas not wanting to offend white people - or whatever the fuck your angle is- or are just plain ol' apathetic/complacent black people. We have FAAAAAAR more ability to affect change than we exercise.

Whatever, man.

That's the funny part. Leader of the free world, can't come out and unequivocally support this issue. Can say gay issues are civil rights issue as if this isn't a civil rights issue as well. Can condemn other people for not adopting the American stance on those gay issues. Cannot say, that this simply has to stop without adding caveats to the discussion about something else to absolve some of the responsibility and attention.

But, the leader of the free world CAN'T be 100% militant, while protecting the actual militants, the military lol.

He would never say, maybe Transgender people should understand how someone who isn't transgender would feel if you try to use their restroom. AND People need to understand that transgender people are just people so we need to respect their rights.

Never.

He Could Have Just Remained Silent and If Asked Said It Is Kaepernick's Right to Do So As an American, Or Said He Has No Comment :dunno:

he DID say EXACTLY that.

yall on some bullshit with this one.

i understand why, the senseless murders of Black men hurts deeply, but these attacks on the president who issued a measured and strong response are misdirected.

So the oppressed should "listen" to the "pain" of the oppressor?????????????

Man FOH wit this bullshit.

Kaepernick and others ARE hearing their pain in the form of death threats, cops threatening to walk out, suspended from school, being called *******, mainstream media idiots, etc.

man i cant take some of these bootlickers seriously anymore

obama is a damn clown

But I also want people to think about the pain that he may be expressing about somebody who's lost a loved one that they THINK was UNFAIRLY shot." - President Barack Obama

That's the part of the statement some of us will have a problem with - instead of saying "they think" why couldn't he just say "who's lost a loved one that was unfairly shot".? Of course he can't do that b/c he's on the side of the race soldiers. All he ever says is " I know we have some problems and challenges". We are getting picked off daily and the most powerful man in the land can't put things in place to protect its own US citizens. With that being said wtf am I voting for if the most powerful man in the land can't even promise me safety from domestic terrorists aka race soldiers.

Then He Should Have Stopped There....All That Extra Rhetoric About the Veterans is Bullshit Patriotism Used to Disguise Racism Plain and Simple

for those who seem to be outraged by this...can any of you all tell me where the president was speaking and what exactly he was asked to respond in this manner?

did ANY of you watch the video???

he was speaking to a mafugga who worked in a MORGUE with DEAD SOLDIERS' BODIES.

Which video Buk, the one in OP's link? That one contained only part of his comments.
it allows people to see who he was talking to, how the question was framed, and why he answered the way he did.

he told a soldier who prepares other dead soldiers for burial to HIS FACE that HE needs to see things through the eyes of protestors.

to HIS FACE.

but THAT PART is LOST on these assholes running around here.
