It was transparent. When Ghost froze after touching the window, I knew it would come back to bite him, but I didn't know it would be a murder. I thought it would be a B&E charge. Then when dude killed Knox, I thought about him touching that window, and figured he'd be charged with it.

In most States when you get your drivers license, you put your thumb print into the database at the DMV.
He also got his fingerprints in the system because he got arrested in Season 3.
