Hillary Clinton to Young Black Voter Asking About Diversity: ‘Why Don’t You Go Run For Something

I'm sure there are people who voted for Obama because he was black, and I'm sure there are people who will vote for Hillary because she is a woman. I'm not one of them. They earned my vote because they are the most qualified. To even think like this means you don't have a high opinion of women. That tactic of woman shaming or black shaming in the case of Obama may work with those who really are voting for those reasons, but on the other hand if that is their motivation they aren't listening to policy ideas anyway. Had Bernie been the nominee he would have gotten my vote. Gary nor Jill have the experience needed and have said problematic things. The only advantage they have is that no one knows them or takes them seriously enough to vet them fully. Gary on Morning Joe disqualified himself. Jill has bashed Bernie. None of the choices are perfect.

Dude is a clown...I don't even know why we bother answering a dude that for some reason (keeps reminding us he's mixed) I don't understand why he thinks that carries some sort of currency in the black mind but he does. Almost every thread he makes he states "I'm mixed".....

That's mostly his justifying posting white women. If he felt comfortable in doing it tho, or felt comfortable with his racial make up, he wouldn't have to do that. We don't have the white folks who are (supposed to be) a minority around here reminding folks they are white everytime they post an opinion. I only found out some were white because they responded to a question specifically addressed to white members.

Well this is a thread about Hillary Clinton and he's screaming "I'm mixed". Like it's some sort of lottery ticket.:roflmao::lol::roflmao2:

They've been attacking this woman for over 20 years. I remember when she was first lady and Rush Limbaugh would attack her for smiling. Right wing bullshit just sunk in is all. I don't think she lies any more than most people do. Trump lies like it's second nature.

Benghazi? Bullshit (fabricated attack on her because of an ambassadors got killed, news flash ambassadors get killed all the time in hostile countries)

Email server? More bullshit, fabricated by Republicans to get her on something...ANYTHING....the leader of the witch hunt in congress even said so.

Republicans will always make any Democrat out to destroy America and eat babies. We saw that play book with Obama.

Fuck outta here. She's getting my vote in November.
Hillary still hadn't yet confessed about her email situation. but at least Trump has confessed about the mistake he made about saying Obama wasn't born in America.

That's pretty much how that wave from black folks was for Obama, I'm pretty sure most black folks didn't care about what he was talking about and his policies. It was mostly cause they wanted to see a black person in office.

Bernie Sanders was the best option, but he didn't have the money and name factor that Hillary has which is why she is the nominee instead.

The election is a big game, they usually select the people who they know they can control more. Which would be Hillary, she will probably win cause she is more controllable than Trump.

I said I was mixed cause someone asked me about my sig and why did I have it. I just said cause I'm mixed and I think it's a nice picture. You must can't read well cause I was clearly asked why did I have this sig and I just responded to the person who asked very clearly why.

I'm sure pride in a black president helped motivate many, but that is not enough. Did you see folks coming out to support Herman Cain or Ben Carson to this degree? Black people don't just want somone black to be seen in a high position. We are well aware of how we are collectively judged. We want someone qualified who will do the job well and not embarass us. If Obama were not qualified and capable he would not have gotten the votes.

Bernie had a sorry ground game and was dismissive of the black vote. He could have beaten Hillary if he hadn't been hell bent on winning w/o POC. Black people said we are concerned about xyz we need abc. He said no economic equality will solve everything and if you were smart enough to understand you'd know this. Condescending and dismissive.

As far as Trump goes, he's being controlled NOW and a vote for him is actually a vote for whomever is advising him. He has no doctrine of his own other than saying and doing whatever outlandish thing he can to keep media attention.

This fool is talking about cac this and cac that, all the while calling people coons for not supporting a white person. Some of yall are ass backwards as shit.

No. From what I recall from the black folks I knew that voted for Obama that's in my age range of 30's, they voted for him cause they said he seemed like a hip hop type guy, someone they could relate to cause he voice his opinion about liking sports and rap music and they felt like he was speaking their language, so they could relate to him that way. They couldn't relate to Herman Cain and Ben Carson that same way.

Well you appear to know more superficial folks than I do. I'll take your word for it.

Nigga you've said that bullshit on multiple posts.

They aren't superficial, they was just jumping on the bandwagon like most of the black community in following the wave of the excitement of voting for Obama. They see now that they made the wrong decision after they've seen how he really is.

I don't regret voting for him. The other choices were Hillary or McCain. McCain showed his lack of judgment in choosing Sarah Palin as a running mate and riling up the racists that morphed into today's teaparty.

Saying the wrong decision was made means you would have preferred we elect Hillary 8 years ago? Or a president Romney 4 years ago? GTFOOHWTBS

Obama made Hillary a better candidate. She actually had to put up a bit of a fight. And the international experience she received as SoS means she doesn't have to play catch up. She's already ready.

Obama has catered more to who really put him in office. He knows who votes really put him in office and that's who he is helping the most. Black people only account for 13% of the United States. Hispanics account for 17% and Whites and others account for the rest. He has helped Jews more than he has helped black people during his presidency.

McCain would have probably been a better option in my opinion. He is a war veteran. I'm sure he would have taking care of the troops better. The troops don't get no respect. It's so many homeless former troops, it don't seem like nobody really cares for them. At least I think McCain would have tried to give them some type of assistance.

OK so you wanted 8 years of McCain/Palin?

How well would they have done on black issues? Troops aren't black people that's just another group. What specifically was McCain going to do for black folks?

Are you kidding me? You said troops aren't black people? I guess you are totally confused or don't know that there are high numbers of homeless vets on American streets that was never taking care of, the same people who risk there lives for the United States and now they are on the streets. I guess you are lost in the fact that it's a lot of homeless black veterans. It's not just a white issue. Wake up!

I'm glad you realized the minister was right about this.

Minister Farrakhan to President Barack Obama: "You didn't earn your legacy with Black people. You fought for the rights of gay people. You fight for Israel. Your people are suffering and dying in the streets!"

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan harshly criticized US President Barack Obama this week, accusing him of supporting Israel and the gay community instead of the black community.

“You fought for the rights of gay people; you fought for the rights of this people and that people...[y]ou fight for Israel,” Farrakhan said while giving a sermon on Sunday, according to a report in The Blaze.

Meanwhile, Farrakhan said, "your people are suffering and dying in the streets.” He added that Obama has not fared well in the eyes of the black community.

The comments came after Farrakhan claimed that Obama “didn’t earn” a positive legacy with the black community.

“If you can’t go and see about them, then don’t worry about your legacy,” he said. “Because the white people that you served so well — they’ll preserve your legacy.”

Farrakhan’s religious group Nation of Islam, once led by Malcolm X, is labeled as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Farrakhan has a checkered past with antisemitism. In March 2015, he blamed "Israelis and Zionist Jews" for the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Some of Farrakhan’s other claims in that speech relating to Sept. 11 include that “an Israeli film crew dressed as Arabs were filming the Twin Towers before the first plane went in” and “many Jews received a text message not to come to work on Sept. 11.”

In 2011, he also said that Jews and Zionists are “trying to push the US into war” and that “Zionists dominate the US government and banks.”

This sentiment has also been repeated often by others as well. If work done that benefits gays which includes black people doesn't count, If the ACA for Americans which includes black people doesn't count, if narrowing the disparity between crack and cocaine in sentencing for Americans which includes black people doesn't count, then work that benefits veterans as a whole doesn't count either simply because there are black vets. I need you to explain to me exactly what these other candidates were going to do SPECIFICALLY FOR BLACK PEOPLE ALONE, that we missed out on because Obama was elected instead.

Yeah I sure did post it cause the minister is speaking facts about Obama. Everything he said is true. He just has the guts to say it unlike other prominent black folks.

So answer the question. What did black folks miss out on that McCain, Hillary or Romney was going to do?

I already mentioned something that McCain stressed, which was helping the vets more. It's a lot of black vets if you don't know on the streets that's poor, homeless and jobless. Obama can't relate to the vets like McCain.

I'm deeply passionate about vets cause I'm a serviceman myself. I've served in the Canadian Navy for 7 years and now I'm in the Navy reserve. So I care about vets strongly.

I had a brother who fought in Vietnam. My father served in the army. I have a brother and nephew retired navy. I have much respect for the military but in this case vets don't count because someone other than black folks benefit. You have put forth that Obama was a bad decision and McCain Was the right one. The basis of this is that he is not doing anything that benefits black people. What he has done for gays and Americans in general doesn't count because others benefit. So I want to know what McCain or any of the other candidates would have done where we would be the sole beneficiaries. I want to know how we are worse off because Obama got elected. To be unable to anwer that when that is the basis of your argument means either there is no difference or you don't know what it is, so which is it?

She should run for something, that we can all agree on... BUT... the problem is Hilary said it in a sarcastic & dismissive way.

If you had all those family members who served their country, but you act like you don't have as much respect for vets than the way you are sounding in previous post. Also it's a difference for people who has actually served than someone just speaking on it, I have a different passion for vets than you may have since you never served so that's why I have a deeper passion for the homeless vets.

Yeah well we can talk about my total lack of respect for vets later. I'm looking to be swayed by your argument regarding Obama right now, so I'll repeat my last comment:

Firstly, Your lack of respect for vets are proving to show me that you really don't care about them because you can't relate to them. Like I said before you wouldn't know how I feel about them the same way cause you never served so that debate is sealed and closed on that matter.

Secondly, ok let me answer your question.

I don't know what McCain or anybody else could have done differently cause they weren't elected DUH!

But it's a fact that since Obama has been in office the homicide rates in a lot of the inner cities have risen. That's a fact!
