Sony announces PlayStation 4 Pro with 4K HDR gaming for $399

Technically you don't. Despite if your TV is 4K or not, you will be able to us the new bullshit PS4 PRO, however, you will not be able to benefit from the supposed higher screen resolutions that its supposed to display.
I was talking to someone about this last night. I guess systems have moved to the iPhone-like standard version and an S version. This set a new standard that is going to have kids crying on Christmas because they got a regular ps4 and not the ps4 super deluxe ultra pro.

They just going to rape pockets with this weak shit fuckery. People who don't pc game have no clue how powerful consoles have to be to run 4k at acceptable framerates. But they are wording things carefully, e.g., "support for 4k gaming," instead of making promises that they know are false as hell.
They still releasing console games locked at 30fps at medium detail at fucking 1080p. It's a shame a lot of folks going to buy a new console thinking they will be able to game at 4k.

So i'm not too knowledgeable about CPU gaming but GPU's for 4K gaming cost more than any game console will cost so I would only imagine that console gamers are not getting true 4k gaming at the price point for these consoles.

Yeah, the GPU for 4k gaming will run more than a console, and there still isn't a true single GPU for ultra settings at 60 fps. This 'update' cycle is such a blatant money grab. Shit, people can just stream 4k content through their fucking 4k tv. Why the fuck buy a console for that shit?

Pretty much. I never liked streaming through my console because it would get real loud and mess up the movie experience anyway.
It better be firmware update to fix that
From what I read Sony believes streaming is the future and decided not to include it. It cannot be patched in because it is a hardware issue. Stupid decision by Sony

Ok while I do think the PS Pro is a wasted project, I think the shit you guys are bitching about has no merit. Who cares if the Xbox one S plays 4K bluray? How many people actually have 4K TVs let alone 4K blurays? The only disc that go into any of my systems is games and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
Also, I think Sony is looking at it as they pretty much already dominated MS so why add cost to a project that's most people won't even use? The Xbox One S is not comparable to the PlayStation 4 pro spec wise. And I think that's what Sony is touting. Me as a Sony fan will not support this though. You have the VR and the PlayStation Pro at the same price. That's $800 total to play the newest Sony shit. I'm good
