MR. ROBOT Official Discussion Thread (New Season starts Oct.6)

peace

I'm going to watch it again at my own risk.
The intro's got to me
Man
When she was dying over her dead father and then the camera went to her and she HAD to put on a smile cause that's what you do when the camera comes to you no matter what it is you're doing?
....with the music or intro playing, I think  classic throwback skin format of what live studio audience then canned laughed TV developed into

Also :roflmao2: having themy drive to their old WashTownship hood off of the highway over the music in the intro

The intro blew my mind. I loved how they incorporated commercials of actual shows, like 'Suits' into the 1980's/90's format.
They freaked the Whole of their WordUpWednesdays, with E Corp owning the whole cable network

I used to watch the show religiously as a kid..They don't make shows like that no more...

Nope...

No Saturday morning cartoons
No saved by the Bell
No family matters
No Cosby show
No different world

Just something safe fUn a little educational silly for the family.

Just caught up on Mr. Robot on DVR. I have no idea what's going on with that Dom character. That FBI assassination scene was ruthless. And the intro to the last episode was pretty funny, but I don't think it was as brilliant as others do here. I think it was a little over the top. Just my 2 cents...

Mr. Robot’ Renewed For Season 3 By USA

Midway through its second-season run, USA Network’s drama series Mr. Robot has been renewed for a third season to air in 2017.

Mr. Robot, from creator Sam Esmail and Universal Cable Prods., has been USA’s buzziest series in a while and the most acclaimed ever. It was recently nominated for six Emmys, including best drama series and best actor for star Rami Malek.

Ratings for the hacker drama have been challenging. A breakout in its first season,Mr. Robot has seen its linear ratings decline in Season 2, most recently hitting new Live+same day lows of 572,000 viewers and a 0.22 adults 18-49 last week. The series has seen solid DVR gains (the July 13 S2 premiere had a 116% viewership jump and a 119% 18-49 surge over its L+SD numbers), and it has done pretty well in multi-platform/on-demand viewing. Above all, despite its modest overall ratings performance, Mr. Robot has become a prestige series and a calling card for an edgier, younger-skewing USA brand.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Mr. Robot, a series that has pushed boundaries, captured the cultural zeitgeist, and been honored as one of the best dramas on television,” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “Midway through its second season, Mr. Robot continues to break new ground and open up new opportunities for the network.”

Mr. Robot, which has an SVOD deal with Amazon, follows Elliot Alderson (Malek), a cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their leader (Christian Slater). Following the events of fsociety’s five/nine hack on multi-national company Evil Corp, the second season explores the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control.

The series co-stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer and Stephanie Corneliussen. Mr. Robot, from UCP and Anonymous Content, is executive produced by Esmail, Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton.

“Being the home studio for this wonderful, completely original show is an exhilarating experience. Sam and company just keep taking it to another level,” said Jeff Wachtel, Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and UCP President.

Mr. Robot also has won two Golden Globes, including for best drama series, a Peabody Award; three Critics’ Choice Awards, a WGA Award for Best New Series and the TCA Award for Outstanding New Program. Additionally, the series was selected for an AFI Award for Television Program of the Year, won a Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Long Form Series, won the Audience Award in the Episodics category at the 2015 SXSW Festival and was an official selection at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.

peace

this show is so good...

Just the details about the slow collapse of society. I'm loving it.
Not sure how many other ones he may have but Slater is producing this one.
Beastin with the akward off/dim lit closeups from day 1
wit the eye all type of fucked up ahahahaha

Well looks like my theory of Badass being in his head.... and the mental institution theory were both busted this episode.

What in the fucking shit.....

We are going to need to talk about the shit that went down?

Update....

Gawd damn.... Never mind. They got me..

I can't live update this show again......

I would think he got arrested when they busted Craig but that would debunk the whole badass story line. When did he do the migration if he was in jail? I'm confused as shit

peace

Locked up for what?
Gonna make the viewer wait a week or more as next wk is just abt the crew.
Weller's still missing & the boys are on the crew for 5/9
He's been there so not any Ray shit.
They finessed it & will get around to tell u how when they feel like it....
hahaha

Dude you might want to exit this thread if you are just watching the show.

Ya ummm you can't beat a man to pulp and then give a loaded pistol and tell him to shoot every one else BUT me.

The minute homeboy kicked Elliot chair it was a wrap.

Same here.... I'm trying to figure out when did he get locked up. He did make it seem like it was when Craig was busted, but it would have had to have been before episode one this season.

Locked up for what?
that, we don't know as yet. obviously wasn't about the big hack tho.

nah, he was locked up from the beginning of the season. like he said, he was being delusional to cope. there were clues from ep 1 that suggested this, and they only got stronger with each ep. the only dispute in the fandom up until thos episode was whether he was in prison or a mental institution.

craig was an employee of the prison making money off his darknet site. dunno what his capacity was but he was someone of authority. they simply brought elliot from his cell to craig's office. the fbi didn't arrest elliot or even ask his name;they just told him not to move. that's cuz he was already locked up.

as far as when he was arressted, go back to the final scene of the last ep of season one: there's a knock at elliot's door and when he turns, it cuts to black. presumably that was the police to arrest him. for what, we don't know but it defimately couldn't be anything to do with the ecorp hack. at least i highly doubt it.

I'm gonna mis Ray, told ya'll he was real

One of the best scenes was him making breakfast hooked up to the machine talking to his wife...

Who come to find out was the dark one...

Him and Elliot DID have a lot in common.

HIS wife was his dark half, you did all the dirty work

He talked to her but because we weren't HIS audience WE were not able to see her.

So he couldn't see the reality, black out pretend it wasn't happening, he could be in denial let her take over

HIS wife?

was HIS mr. Robot.
